@@danteerskine7678 That is really cool that your compressor allows for higher viscosity, probably would also be a good oil for those in warmer climates. My only fear is that the chinesium may break if using higher viscosity oil in mine. Project Farm should do a video on that idea!

Help! I've had mine a while now but I only used it a little. It goes to 50 psi then conks out and the electric hums. I kick it back on it wants to go. But hums again. Any idea what the problem is? Thanks.
I appreciate the thoroughness! How do we adjust the psi? I took off the black cover but there is talk of cut in and cut out...I am not familiar with this, I just need to shoot texture at 20 psi,... or 30... or 40 depending on which utube or article I've read! Ty~
The psi is adjusted by the red know on the side which will adjust the displayed amount on the dial. Generally these types of dials work well but may require some finesse to hit an exact psi. A larger unit can also help as it will not need to refill as often, which could give you mixed results with a pressure fluctuation. Thank you for watching!

Looking at getting this today. On sale for $99. I have the 3 gallon but other than my nailers, it struggles to blow up car tires and it will not run any tools. I also live in NE Ohio. In fact, Canton, OH area. Lastly, that damn 3 gallon can take 10 minutes to charge to 100 psi!!!!!
Yes it is a standard oil and great for the break in that these require. If you do not want to buy the specific oil sold for air compressors any synthetic plain 30 weight SAE oil will work for temps between 34F-100F (1C-37C). Just make sure it does not have extra additives e.g. high mileage etc.
The black piece is an air filter, which does require maintenance periodically. In short, yes the compressor can operate without the filter. Is it advisable? No. Dirt and debris will have direct access to the internals. This will manifest in a few ways mostly seen as excessive noise, oil/air leaks, and overheating. This happens as contaminants entering the system can clog the oil vents and or end up trapped in the tank. Additionally, the compressor may fail to maintain pressure or reach the rate pressure of the tank.

I have the same one but when tank is full no air will come out the release valve thru the line, the bleeder valve works fine but no air will come out the release valve anyone know what that problem is?
Do you mean the oil? No, that can be changed once per year with normal use. For heavier more regular use, every 3-4 months. If you mean the air in the tank, that should be dumped after finishing use.
I have a similar central Pnuematic 6 gal, which I attempted to recently change the oil, but i can't see the oil level thru that cloudy viewer. Anyone know how much oil is the correct amount? to reach the middle of the red ring inside the viewer.
@@marcuspayton3356 it may have enough pop to get it out. Crankshaft bolts are generally frozen by dirt/corrosion not super high torque setting. Try some penetrant if frozen in place.

Availability in my area, I searched in all local stores for manufacturers and found zero. Almost every model sold in a big box store is made in China or Indonesia. The available units from online retailers at the time I saw were for larger and substantially more expensive units (25+ gallons and $600+). If no comparable model is available/ within a reasonable price difference, I will buy the available unit.
Clogging of the valve comes from the inside. rusty crusty stuff. In the video, he didn't notice the crack where the plate was screwed on. This is junk. If the cosmetic suk. The unseen inside has to be worse!.
In general that is a risk we take by buying Chinese goods. They perform the bare minimum function for a low price. The drawbacks are cosmetics and possible reliability questions. Mine is still going strong and has had some decent use. If it ever goes I will look into a better name brand. For now I will let the little Harbor Freight compressor chug along. Bro this thing is terrible... has hardly any power. I bought a 50 ft hose and the air gun to blow out dirt and stuff in my car and it hardly shoots any air at all. Waste of $200
