Nice one Andy 👍. Just to add my thoughts on the NGT centre pin if I may. I own both the Black Shadow and the NGT one. Of the two that I have, the Black Shadow does certainly seem to be far more free running than the NGT. I've used both on the Rivelin up here I found the NGT to be a little "sluggish" if there isn't much pace to the water. However, that might be down to quality control on my reel while others might be better. I'm sure that if we have other NGT owners viewing this, they may like to add their own experiences Having pointed out that my example is a bit sluggish I think it's only fair to point out that I still caught fish when using it for long trotting. You'll still be able to catch fish with it on a commercial or natural pond. I did find that trying to stop a decent size match carp with it certainly proved to be "interesting" 😳😂.
I prefer to fish a lake or pond where you don’t know what you are going to catch next although you can use certain methods/baits to target say skimmers. Best of all is the river fishing although I am in favour to keep the close season adds the excitement of first and last days of the season, it’s great. You are well away now with your centrepin it really is a great style of fishing.
