Living in London I found there was not very much on the internet about fishing in the capital and what there was, was out of date. So i am going to have a go at some Urban fishing while filming it for you guys and trying not to break the bank. I'll also be doing various other budget fishing videos including some fishing in popular places without it costing the earth.

Hi Andy. I have taken my son lure fishing a couple of times in docklands near Canary Wharf but we keep getting moved on by security guards! We are especially keen on pike and don't mind catching perch - where exactly can we go (if it's not too secret) - thanks!
I never paid any attention to people that were scared. I went out by myself fishing at night like I used to before COVID. I just had time off from work to fish during the week instead of just weekends. I had three weeks off from work You can fix your hair by throwing on a hat. Works for me
I FISHED IT LOTS OF TIMES SAW A BIG CHUB IN THERE AND SOME YOUNG BOY PUT A ROD IN WHERE I WAS FISHING FOR IT BANG HE GOT LOL I WEIGHED IT FOR HIM 5LB 4 oz THAT WAS 20 YEARS AGO NICE TO NO THE FISH ARE STILL THERE.
those red and white ones look good…. for years and years that has been my “go to “ and have had some good fish on various makes of redhead white body lures!
Your casting will improve if you can avoid flexing your wrist. Try to keep your hand and forearm fairly alined. We know the problem as "Wrist Break" and some tackle dealers stock an item to help reduce this. Tight Lines!!
My experience is very similar to you re fly fiishing a small river in scotland. Great fun on a wet fly. Try a dry fly if only to say you had one on that. My achievment-one.
Great to see you with something that gave you a run around.4lb line with a 2o hook? To me you could never use the line strength with such a small hook?
you are lucky mate thank goodness all that pile's of foriegn crap that now live in that era do not fish because if they did there be no room for you on the bank myself ex tottenham ick
My childhood hero had 30+ 2lb roach from river opposite br rail car park. I sometimes stand there and imagine what it was like 70 Yrs ago. Ta for vidio.
I'm also a noddy. When you rode up from Broxbourne the pit on the right is very famous. Ialso believe the weir once held the chub record. Great vidios. Ta
Fished it a lot in the past my best from it was a 4lb chub but did see a little kid pull out a 5lb plus . my son had a 1lb goldfish from thier , Stopped fishing it has there was a tyre fire that killed of a lot of the fish. nice to see there are still fish in there.
The first part you was fishing is actually the old river Lea. That large opening is where the river minram joins. The beane joins about 300-400m further up by a smallish weir pool.
I work round there and used to have evenings like this regularly. It gets a bit busy with walkers which is my only criticism. But along that stretch by the weir pool I saw a perch well over 3lb just sitting in the margins. Wish I had my rod at the time lol.
