Centri MP5 Tactical Tattoo Machine Review

Honestly, can’t say enough about Mike & this machine. Mike is such a stand up guy & the MP5 has probably been my favorite machine I’ve ever owned. I learned on coils, built coils, loved coils but when rotary’s & cartridges had came out I made the switch. The convenience was probably the biggest thing for me, as far as being able to swap needles on the fly without having 2-4 machines set up. When I switched over to rotary, Bishop Rotary was my go to for the same reasons that I now use Centri. A consistent & high quality machine with no gimmicks, but even with that being said the customer service is second to none. I had tried for years & years on how to properly use a rotary and for some reason I always found myself second guessing my application, heals weren’t always consistent, lining wasn’t the same as it was as with a coil. But at the time what I didn’t understand, was that it wasn’t a coil, so it wasn’t going to react and behave like a coil. I know half the time it was a me thing though. I don’t think it was until the first version of the wand had come out that I had fully grasped the hang of using rotaries. Went from the regular wand to the power wand and that was my daily driver for years now. I still stand by that machine. I love my Bishop. It’s simple. No gimmicks. When you finally figure it out, it really is a great all around machine. I remember Franco & James both telling me that. I came across the Centri Machine one day on instagram right before the release of the MP5 & it peaked my interest. At first I was like no way haha it’s just another gimmick machine. I had tried the ones with “E-Give” and all that other stuff, but I was like this is probably the same. I shot him a follow and I would see Centri post and every time I saw it I was like man, why does this keep calling me. Does it really hit like a coil? After a year I believe I finally pulled the trigger & ordered the MP5. Blew my mind. Was like riding a bike. It lines like a coil. Hits like a coil. Whips like a coil. Liner shades like a coil, Does everything a coil can, But has the same pros & consistency of a rotary. Literally best of both worlds. I haven’t touched another machine since. Blacks heal black & rich, saturates color very easily, lines heal crisp, you can definitely tell there’s less trauma to the skin. You can still get really soft & smooth blends, or you can whip shade to your hearts delight lol. All & all I think this machine is truly an all around machine. Like the review says, it’s not for everybody but you can’t deny that it’s an incredible machine. I’m a tattoo artist. I’ll tattoo anything that walks through that door. This machine would allow me to do so. My only regret is that I didn’t pull the trigger sooner haha. Loved the review. Would love to see one using the machine in action so that people can get a better understanding of what the machine is like. How it behaves. How you can sink your needle in & go when you line. How you can hear & feel that whip when you shade. How you can still touch the slide and gauge how hard that machine is hitting at the voltage you’re running it at. I feel people don’t get a real sense of that until they either see it, hear it, or feel it themselves even when I try to explain it. 🙏🏽 Thanks Mike.

I have long wondered why tattoo machine manufacturers do not create something that is not a cylinder... this machine looks fantastic... for an artist it is very important how the machine is held, I tried to make a grip of the machine from plasticine and I tried to create a shape that would suit me he held it in his hand the best...but I would have to have CNC machines at home to finish it....Thanks for the video .. Only con for me is the needle adjustment wheel. Had the same « dislike » for scorpion tattoo machine with their « dial wheel » Looks great tho. Sadly not found in Europe.

What machine would you say is better for lining between this and the new numea 5. ??? Both seem to imitate a coil????

Looks cool, but you can’t take the grip off to autoclave it? Can you get to the drive bar and clean it? Not just that cartridge receiver? If that’s not possible seems like a health hazard like all other sealed off machines

Literally the only machine in the last 10 years that I just couldn't use. Must be like you said. This was designed for Mike. Not for me.

if you are planning to buy without testing it please dont waste your money for this machine. 1.5mm actual stroklenght and no penetration in larger needles. use light weight coil instead or rotary with give. this machine is totally trash did not mimic the coil.

im curious about magnetic drive. the machine looks interesting. only used twice. its really weird machine. applying different techniques trying to get used into it but its not for me. not a coil feel that electromagnetic force downward only and small force pushing up from backspring when the current releases . this pure magnet, upper magnet pushes same pole magnet down. but the big problem is bottom magnet pushes up strongly. the power concentrated in the middle of strokelenght resulting very short stroke and cannot inject needle to skin properly. its strange dude.
