I remove all of the old factory aluminum foil wrapped finish from the interior dash trim on this NSX and refinished it with C-Series Cerakote (C-112 Cobalt).
1. Remove all trim panels
2. Remove vents and switches
3. Strip off old finish without cutting yourself (optional, but recommended)
4. Fill any scratches and block smooth
5. Sandblast (not shown) to insure mechanical adhesion.
6. Spray 2-3 even coats as needed in a well-ventilated area.
7. C-Series requires no baking, let cure for 7 days before installation.

I did this and it came out great! However, my passenger side window does not work after putting it all back together. Ive been scratching my head on this. Makes no sense! Lol

I was holding my breathe watching you peel that foil off the interior pieces. Some of the most expensive parts to source for the older NSX. Killed it and you provided some good tips I can use to takle this on my 93 NSX. Thanks for the video brotha!

Have you tried sandblasting the foil covering off? 120-grit aluminum oxide and using lower pressure, say 50 psi should take it right off in just a few minutes. That’s what I use for stripping off coatings like that on plastic. Great video by the way.

BEAUTIFULLY DONE! A TRUE craftsman! I replaced mine with CF, but I truly loved watching you redo yours. BTW, I have the same interior, black/tan in my 1996.

It’s just a felt tape. Here is the thin stuff. I also used some 1mm thick stuff too. Felt Tape Automotive, Anti Squeak Tape, Anti Rattle Felt Tape, Self Adhesive Felt Multipurpose Automotive Wiring Harness Tape Anti Rattle Adhesive Felt Insulating Tape Car Accessories(9mm*25m) a.co/d/94FdXRy

With most foils, a bit of heat (heatgun or even a hairdryer) will soften it, making it easier to peel off. It will not break as quickly.

Yep. I used a heat gun here and there. It helped some for sure.
