6:23 Your results look good. But for those who are here for information on the process, (I am here for the finished color shots). Cerakote specifically recommends one thicker coat and not several light coats. They actually cite that as one mistake folks make when using their product. As it’s not the same as regular paint. Hope this helps someone. Great job man. Looks great. And THANK YOU for not showing a cleared weapon. lol
It looks great man. I am a painter among other things. Sandblasting is just done because it roughs up every spot. It's a little harder to scuff everything with sand paper but you can do it. That sprayer you used works just fine for small parts. You wouldn't want to do a car fender with it, but for gun parts it works fine. Baking your metal parts is done to get the oils and contaminants out of the metal. Metal has pours and grain and can absorb some chemicals to a degree so baking it helps to get those oils to the surface so you can then clean the oils off of the metal. I will usually clean something, then bake it and clean it again to make sure it's really totally clean. If you do this a lot or as a business, a proper paint gun is the way to go, but doing a few things for yourself, I agree with this spray bottle you used.
@@CarbonGlassMan what kind of median to use in a sandblaster to rough up the paint and not totally remove it? isnt there fiberglass flakes or something?
Great job! the only recommendation would be to take your spray strokes lengthways rather than strokes across the short width...will make the finish much smoother and eliminate any spatter...either way looks great. Thanks for sharing
@@Gamerj2014 couple of follow on Q's where did ya buy your preval sprayer kit, how much did you have left over and if ya had to do it again what would you do differently.
@@raging_rhino2582 I ordered the Preval Kit online, but it can be found at most hardware stores. I hardly had any paint left over. If I did it it again I would make sure to go slower on the trickier spots, such as the picatinny rails and small crevices.
Great job man! Rifle looks awesome, especially with the 2 time color. Looking to do this with an M44 barrel and receive in the diamond Gray color later today. Keep up the good work.
im going to do this to my gun when i build it. i like the color aero made for their limited edition ed green upper and lower. i think i found a few that are close cant wait to give it a try
That came out pretty awesome man!🤘🏻 That's an American ass rifle🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 I think I'm going to try this on my current build...it'll finally be an actual ligit reason to wear a mask
Thank you! The music used was built into my video editing software, I have since switched video editing porgrams and honestly don't remember what the song names or artists were sorry!
@@Protectiveedgetraining as shown in the video, I used Cerakote and put it in a Preval spray bottle I purchased from the hardware store. The Cerakote did not come in the spray bottle.
You were supposed to bake it and in the oven man lmao after you paint it to set the paint onto the gun parts wow some people just can’t read directions don’t follow this guy your cerakote won’t last a week period
As stated in the video, this is not the bake on version of Cerakote. This is an air cured version, it is not as durable as the bake on stuff and takes several days to fully cure. It still holds up to this day.
