Great video awesome job keeping it simple and in layman's terms... Not everyone understand 100% so you guided the convo so it was simple to understand and that is very much appreciated...
Thanks Pan, Ryan, Myron and Steve. Great video! I have been working with Ryan and Myron for a couple months now and have to say I am not only blown away by the product but also by the care and service of the Duraslic team. Thanks guys, looking forward to continuing to grow with you.
I ordered 2 1500 Xtreme on the last duraslic video, I did both of my Cadillacs with the coatings. They turned out amazing and I couldn’t be happier with it. So far they have been a breeze to clean. After watching this video I ordered a 32 oz bottle of the leather coat and the 16oz bottle of the sipped coating! Looking gory to trying them!
Pan your questions you asked I believe really were in depth for those that want to understand the science and facts of ceramic coatings vs the hype and marketing that is out there. It was well worth the length of the video and the value of their time.
@@PanTheOrganizer it’s about 87*f with very thick humidity. I love it!!! Doing a little cleaning here and there! Thanks again for the video. I know that took a lot of work. Enjoy!!
Pan... Thank you for asking the questions from a car owner’s POV and a detailer’s POV combined with that innate curiosity we have in an industry that is exploding with so many products. I have a feeling this video is the infancy of Pan improving the industry. Product brands will be having strategy meetings next week addressing the fact car enthusiasts and detailers are getting more complex, curious, and have the ability to cut through the weeds of sales & marketing because influential RU-vidrs are really educating our customer & prospect targets. Hats off to you Pan for bringing the content at a needed, higher level to the weekend warriors and detailers but I think you have just entered a new dimension of improving the industry. Take note product brands, step up your game because we are passionate about detailing and, the passionate Pan followers are watching & listening.
@@duraslic Coming on to Pan’s show, responding to questions & representing your company in the manner you did provided the confidence I want when putting chemicals on my own vehicle or perhaps starting my own business. Hats off to you! One question I have for you: On my vehicle which already has a coating, would you classify Speedcoat as a weekly topper that just adds that slickness you discussed, or can it be used as a ceramic spray on coating? Unfortunately my vehicle already has a coating and I’m sure SpeedCoat’s chemistry was designed to work best with your coatings, but what should I expect if I sprayed it on my existing coating?
Thanks for the positive feedback! I really try hard to bring the best information and entertainment to my viewers! I think the more education we can give, the more people learn and the more they understand why we do things and how we do them correctly. 😁👍🏻
Here is a real great business model: First, it's always a good idea to do the exact same thing as what everyone else is doing. Then, "Let's make a great product, that's easy to use, and only sell it to a few people that don't have the funds to pay for it." Yeah...that's going to work just great.
Hey Obsessed Garage! My name is Austin and I help run DuraSlic marketing. Totally understand your point, we have seen many other companies with sketchy practices and our goal is to bypass that and provide a way for detailers to be supported and trained to top level performers so that they can make more money and prosper along with us equally. We really see the value in partnering on both sides. Other companies make products in Asia... while DuraSlic is formulated in USA and made in the USA, were super proud of that. If you are a detailer, would love to send you a free sample and some other materials so you can give it a shot...
I was there with @smithsdetailing! Had a blast! Learned a ton! Not only about the detailing side of things, but also about the business side of things! #teamduraslic
Absolutely awesome video, Pan! Again, very informative and detailed enough so we can understand all there is to know about the product. Thanks for your dedication in producing top-notch videos!
I love these types of videos. I learn so much about coatings and things to look out for when applying coatings. Keep up the great videos and work Pan and everyone else!
Thanks Christian! I like to keep my content relevant and fresh. My viewers never know what I’ll come up with next! 😁👍🏻 Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Thanks for this follow up video Pan. I ordered the product after your original video and applied it to my “new to me” , low kilometre 2016 Tundra after a lengthy 2 stage paint correction… my first ever 2 stage and full ceramic coating. I found the coating easy to apply and level, though I should have changed my micro fibre levelling towels more often. Overall, very happy with the results. Glad to hear that this coating will have long durability. I may also order the leather Max product too! This video reinforced my original confidence in this coating. Merci Beacoup!
Great Video. I've been working with Myron to get Duraslic in my shop. I just installed my first coating on a Tesla. Amazing Results. Look forward to working with them to become a professional installer for Champz Auto Detailing!
Great video. It's always great to see companies to innovate with their products and provide all the required support along with it. I can definitely see the appeal and market for those extra durable coatings but it is not necessarily the best path for those of us who dont just love detailing, but love to detail. Personally, I wouldn't put something that durable on my cars. Like everything, ceramic coatings also wear, oxidize, chip, scratch and accumulate fine embeded contaminants that can't be removed without abrasion. As I love to polish my cars at least once a year to keep the paint looking as best as it can, then long durability coatings just aren't for me. Not that they're bad, quite the opposite, they're wonderful, but everything has it's downsides. For my daily driver I use CarPro CQuartz Lite at the fall so it would get the protection for the winter. If I then need to polish, do stone chip repairs at coming spring, I use spray sealants and waxes throughout the summer and then do a full paint prep and coating at the coming fall again. Works great for me and keeps my options open regarding paint correction. But for those who are not looking to do annual paint correction, I'd say high durability ceramics are a godsend. Argument could be made that there are ceramic rejuvenation polishes out there, but I've tried them and they really don't do much. Just my two cents on the longevity considerations when applying ceramics. Take care Pan and stay safe.
So what are your thoughts on Duraslic vs Roar?? Positives and Negatives on both, if you would. Love watching all your videos! Thanks for the wonderful information that you provide
The oleophobicity is definitely interesting to me. Give me a coating that will prevent road film from sticking to the sides of my vehicle; heck even if it does stick but then I can easily remove it all during my prewash phase, I'm sold. Anything that will get my vehicle cleaner without needing me to touch the paint is a bonus for me.
i love the Platform , especially when one of the company Chemist comes onboard and Explain the challenged they faced in developing their products and are proud to show the world what they have accomplished, also, they are backing up the team of Pro installers and Business marketing know hows ! Love You Questions Pan , ps, product prices is pretty good! ;-)
Impressive! Nice to see a coating company with this level of transparency (another leading coating company shrugged off oleo-phobic properties as unimportant (??? road surfaces especially asphalt are loaded with oil !!!)). No DuraSlic detailers within a hundred miles of my location, though. Am pondering doing mobile detailing but don't really know what level of investment's involved.
Hey, thanks for the message... we appreciate you value oleophobicity!! We are working hard to fill up our detailer map, and will be launching new detailers soon. If you reach out to us, a pro detailer will be able to speak to you and help you get involved. Mobile might be difficult with ceramic coatings because of a lack of clean garage, but we have detailers that have done it out of their home garage before and become successful to grow into their own space.
here is one thing about oleophobic coatings. The more oleophobic the coating is the more hydrophobic it is as well as chemical resistance. With a ph level 2-12 it is very resistance to breaking down from chemical degradation vs a non oleophobic coating
We have mobile detailers in our Duraslic network that Ryan and I have trained. Although caution needs to be made when being out doors. Having an indoor facility is the best option
As a detailing business owner a lot of my customers don’t want a coating that lasts 5, 7+ years mainly because they feel they won’t have the vehicle that long or because of the price of the longer lasting coatings…I would like to go through less companies for products and narrow it down to Duraslic products…I seem to sell more 1 and 3 year coating packages rather than 5+ and giving that speed coat last up to 6 months 1500 is about 5 years and extreme is 7+ how do you suggest I fill in that gap to provide services to my customers who prefer a 1 or 3 year coating using Duraslic products ?
I'm not a pro, but an enthusiast that details a few cars a year for colleagues and friends, what's the reasoning for making the DS1500 extreme only available to professionals? There is no rep/installer in my country, but I'm interested in using the products. Where do I go from here? Is there a way to get my hands on the extreme anywhere as well? Also, has this been tested on boats and aquatic equipment?
I am always so slow in getting this type of information Pan. But thank you. I want to investigate more of DuraSlic and check out who is in the area or maybe start in the area.
Excellent professional product. Would be nice to see a consumer/enthusiast grade product that can be as easily applied with at least the olio/hydrophobic properties. The consumer market is also important to consider.
I’m a certified installer, come join the team! #teamduraslic best coating on the market by far! Looks great, outstanding performance, and the ease of application is just amazing!
Loved the video. Appreciate DuraSlic coming on and educating the public with my favorite car detailer. Of course, based on Pan's recommendation, I purchased Avalon King ceramic coating and will finally have some time next week to apply it. Would be curious to know how it would compare to the DuraSlic coating. Thanks Pan. Keep it tight, keep it clean.
Thanks Joseph! The coating you picked is one of the easiest DIY consumer grade coatings. But you can’t compare an inexpensive consumer grade coating to a 7+ year professional grade coating that costs way more.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan. I'll trust that you led me right about Avalon King. I'll just plan on applying it every year or so... Great way to spend a day! Take care.
If you maintain it well it should hopefully last 2+ years. I am following the vehicles I applied it to closely to see how it does long term as well. So far so good!
@@PanTheOrganizer I guess I was expecting that since during NOV-MAR I won't have a proper way to maintain the vehicle in MN, the coating might suffer a little more. It will be interesting to see how it performs a year from now. Thank you!
Hi I just had my truck ceramic coated with your duraslic it will be inside curing for 72 hrs after that if I get caught in the rain will it harm my ceramic coating?
Absolutely no worries. It only needs 24 hours of curing and then can be exposed to the elements including rain with no issues. Just don't wash your car for at least a week after the coating's application. I recommend waiting 2 full weeks before washing the car.
Great discussion Pan and the Duraslic team, good information on this coating, will we have another opportunity to buy this product has a enthusiast/weekend warrior type detailer? (by the way Pan every time I watch your videos i feel the need to spend money LOL !!!)
Thanks Gino! If you reach out the DuraSlic team, they can help get so some more info and help you get started...we don't just want to sell to you, we want to help you grow as a detailer! We like win-wins... Use this link if interested to reach out to us >> www.duraslic.com/join-the-team/#join
So why did you choose Roar for your Porsche? And choose it as your coating of the year. As I do not live any where in America, I have to choose more carefully with exchange rate and shipping. I’m also looking at becoming a detailed myself and looking at what brand to choose from. Thanks Pan, love the videos
Yvan Lacroix has been a friend of mine for years now. He used to be the vice president at Optimum Polymer Technologies (and is now owner of DIY Detail). We had applied Opti-Coat Pro+ on my previous BMW M550i and I always appreciated his advice as he has been in the detailing world for over 40 years now. So when he spoke to me about the technology behind Roar Coatings, I knew I had to have it on my own car. You can see us talk about it, and also do the application in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--9pVgjQFe1U.html It is the best performing professional grade ceramic coating I have ever tested, hence why it took first place in my awards for best pro grade coating of the year, two years in a row. It has been almost two years since we applied it, and it's still going strong on my Porsche, like day 1. I am blown away by the performance. The DuraSlic DS 1500 Xtreme is another great professional grade coating I have had much success with so far.
@@PanTheOrganizer awesome. Thanks. I’m still midway through this video and will watch your application video today. I watched Ivan’s application video for Roar on his truck already and now follow him as well 😀 Thanks
Hey Pan. The DuraSlic website shows only one installer in California That can't be right? Who to call to get a price for installing this product on a vehicle?
Hello James, fill out the contact form on our site and check the box I Need A Detailer. We have more detailer contacts than are shown on the map. We’ll get you covered.
Hello Pan. Other awesome video. I’d missed (somehow) your previous video on Duraslic Xtreme and the opportunity to try it out. If another situation presents itself, I’ll love to take advantage of it. Keep on providing us with professional content!
We are working on expanding our network, and get more detailers on our map every month... keep checking and stay in touch! You can reach out to us directly if you would like to speak to someone..
I applied Avalon King on my car. I have a bottle of Gliss, and wondered if I can apply it for a maintenance topper. Will Gliss adhere with the chemistry of the two.
Hi there, all you need to do is make sure the leather is completely clean. Use a standard leather cleaner or similar to make sure there is no dust or dirt on the seats. Then can be sprayed directly onto leather or sprayed onto applicator first. Wipe off excess with microfiber towel. Repeat with clean towel to enhance shine. Allow to dry. Good luck!!
I know this is off topic. Ive heard of the 5 & 5 polish method for scratches only without having to compound the whole car. Can you explain in a video?
This was an awesome video absolutely loved it! I have noticed there are lots of brands the have leather coatings but where i live in the Caribbean its sometimes impractical to own a vehicle with leather seats due to heat factors. Are these guys developing any fabric caotings as well?
"Furthermore, DS 1500 Xtreme is a multi-layerable formula that enables the user to boost the level of protection as needed." What is there to boost when Steve said no matter how many layers, you still have the same surface protection on top and you dont need something on top of it?
Great video Pan and the DuraSlic team!👍 Are there any plans to purchase direct from Australian distribution like Waxit Australia for the enthusiast? I coat about 1-2 cars per month as an Pro / Enthusiast and am very interested in the products. Cheers Stuart
Hi Pan, Great video, having the manufacturer telling the story of that product and the chemical behind the process is great to understand. And hav ing also expert that use this product is great you can’t ask for more. I have used Duraslic Extrem from the other video that you done on one of my car and up to now is simply prefect…. Now I would like to put on My Porsche so I have tried to buy it an other time and can’t as i am not e certify installer. As i dont want to do a business with it, but know how to use it, would it be possible to do an other promo for the PAN FAN :) Continue the great work.
Hi Pan, My name is Matthew Dunham and have Learned A Lot from your videos! I am taking the classes on September 2nd & 3rd to become Certified in Duraslic Application. This video has great potential for being used as a sales tool. I have a B.A. in Advertising/Graphic Design and now I want to become a successful DuraSlic Installer. Obviously, no client is going to want to watch this entire 1:09:39 video but I can get a potential client to watch 15.22 mins. To that end, I am wondering if you have this video available so I can edit it to only show your interaction with the Chemist? I am particularly interested in the sections of the video from 04:16-07:37 and 12:18-24:10 = 15.22 mins. I will provide You and DuraSlic with my result at no charge...
Hi Matthew. Congrats on wanting to become a certified DuraSlic installer. Tell them hi from Pan when you attend the training! What a great company. I don't normally authorize use of my videos without permission for copyright protection obviously. So it would depend on what your intended use would be. You can send me an e-mail (my e-mail is available in the "About" section of my RU-vid page) and we can discuss the matter there. Cheers
Merci !!
Lol I’m just like hitting my head against the wall here - Here is my big question!! Why big companies like CarPro, Gyeon, Gtechniq including DuraSlic not using graphene? Not just understanding- I know this is a hot topic. It’s just mind boggling that people think by putting graphene into a coating’s its going to sale more. I think we need to start weeding out all the snake oils in the car detailing world -
Yes, we have looked at Graphene. We saw no apparent benefits. Did not increase lifetime, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance. In some cases it might add as little slipperiness but in our research that does not really add any value. -Steve, DuraSlic

I have two dedicated 20A circuits and two separate 15A circuits in my new garage. It runs fine on both, but I prefer putting it on the 20A for extra headroom. In my previous house it was on a 15A and never once tripped the breaker (that was a new construction as well).
Curious as well. I reached out to ROAR a month ago and never heard back which suggests they may not be the right company. I’m hesitant on this one as well
You can't really compare a DIY consumer grade 2+ year coating (AvalonKing) to a pro grade 7 year coating. That is an unfair comparison. Of course the DuraSlic is better, and costs way more. As it should. The AvalonKing is the easiest to apply consumer grade coating, but won't last as long however is super inexpensive. It's all a question of choice. Both are good in their respective categories.
Hi Pan, thanks for the fantastic video as always. I have a question. Is it a bad idea to clay bar the ceramic coated surface every say 3 months or half year? Please let me know what you think about this. Thanks. Keep up the good work :)
Claying the surface of a Ceramic coated vehicle should not ever be done as it will degrade or even remove the coating as the claybar is an abrasive. instead if you have problems with industrial fallout or contamination on the surface of your ceramic coating you need to stick to a iron remover spray. This product wont hurt your ceramic coating because your coating is chemical resistant and will also remove any industrial fallout or contamination particles.
Great informative vids again guys...1 thing i noticed is when steve was revealing the new leather cleaner/protector he mentioned it was hydrophobic...so my question is ...wouldn't it be better if it was oiliophobic because of body oils ? Or can they add it later has a new formula? Merci pan
the oleophobic is more pertaining to chemicals such as degreasers, and exterior protection. The body oils are more pertaining to dirt and grime. The protection that it has already will help with that.
Dan, I like your thinking. Currently, there is no water technology product that is hydrophobic AND oleophobic. But good things are worth waiting for........Steve J.-DuraSlic
I would really like to know what is exactly the difference between 1500 and 1500 Extreme in terms of the product itself and the chemistry - please skip all the "professional level" and "only for authorised and trained detailers" and please concentrate on the product differences only. Levels of protection, durability, application, curing time, ready to drive off time. I am UK based and just want the product - I think I can handle the prep and application process but if it needs to stay inside for days, needs IR lamp curing or otherwise it will be weeks, takes 30 days to reach the full hardness, etc - the costs to actually apply such a product are astronomical (labour and workspace is faaaar more expensive than any product) compared to something like graphene oxide coating applied in 2 hrs (including prep with polish) , ready to drive off immediately and offering maintenance free protection for a min of 12 months AND costing two orders of magnitude less per application. I can apply graphene oxide for 10 years every year and still it would cost a tenth of duraslick. These days ease and speed of application are the king - very few people keep their cars for 7 years :). Once again, thank you very much for sorting out this interview, I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to more in depth content - keep up the good work.
Hi Pan, first congratulations! your videos help me a lot! I saw a video that you commented on the snow foam shampoo, and I didn't see the CarPro shampoo. And I know you use it a lot! Is it possible to produce a new video on this subject giving your opinion on all that you consider Premium, Excellent, very good and good? Do you know Brazilian automotive shampoo? There is a brand called Easytech that I would love to hear from you! Congratulations for your new car. It's beatiful!
I'm not sure what you are referring to exactly Nei. But I did do a video with the CarPro Lift snow foam here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YCrVvkM0cd4.html
Pan, I love these videos...I do wish these companies would trust end users with their products more...I realize the need to provide means for others to make money but I would buy this and use it on my vehicles if I didn't have to go through all the paid training...in today's youtube world we are doing an injustice to those who are more than capable of investigating our own information...like your channel by the way..I have bought many items after "learning" from you.....no need to make that formal...please tell these companies to open the flood gates to massive sells rather than catering to the few they distribute too....by the way...can you sell me some?? :)-
Brian Thanks for your question. We have the 1500 available to the public and the Xtreme for professionals for a reason. To ensure uniform and quality control on the kingpin product. What we don't want to have happen is a non professional installing a coating and causing error and then the coating looking like a problem vs installer error. We Also want to avoid one detailer undercutting another detailer. This is why Xtreme is for professionals only. When you have a product that can last that long you want to ensure quality control. I hope that answered your concern
@@tricitiesdetail I can appreciate that…but I’m sorry I don’t see that three days of training makes a person a professional. I believe it’s the care in which the individual goes about doing the job…your training cannot guarantee that, in my case. I believe that I have that particular care. This is one thing that I understand that you try to dictate, but in reality you cannot. You can only dictate the distribution, not the care in which people apply it…looks like a great product though 🥴
@@brianfivas6906 your right Brian 3 days of training makes a person a professional is funny. It's definitely a good way for these companies to have a money making system for themselves. Makes it so only people who pay can play,, classic governmental pay to play scheme. One thing for sure, I would never pay someone hundreds, let alone thousands, for installation of only 100 to 200 worth of product. I would do it myself, but no you can't. You have to pay for a professional thousands or pay thousands to get trained to do something that is easy and doesn't need training.
www.duraslic.com/product/ds-1500-xtreme/ www.duraslic.com/product/ds-1500/ These would both work really great on boats using the same prep process as vehicles! Its tested and performs great on boats
Duraslic Xtreme works well on boats, we have installers on the east coast that do mainly marine coatings and have had great feedback on the coatings, Yes the xtreme can be applied to polished, unpolished metal, fiberglass, gelcoat, plastic trim, glass, and more. Very versatile costing not needing multiple products for different surfaces
I live in Edmonton, Alberta - no coating in thee entire world can last 7 years for a daily driver here, no matter how well the vehicle is prepped and maintained w/ using safe wash technique - it's just not going to happen, end of story.
Both are as good as it gets for pro grade coatings. I still need more time with both to decide, they are that good. My 2021 car detailing products awards video will be awesome this year!
I washed my ceramic-coated Mercedes with Armor All ceramic Ultra whatever they call that new soap. Part of the soap dried on the car before I rinsed it. It has hideous streaks in it that won't rub out. Do a video on how to correct that please. Please.
Yeah the team at DuraSlic know what they’re doing. When you have a brand confident enough to allow me to talk directly to their lead chemist, you know that’s a good sign. 👍🏻
absolutely! It ensured my confidence as an installer but also that what I am putting in our customers hands as the master distributor that they have a quality tested product not a marketing hype product which is so common.
