Would you want to remove that much clear coat off, that would make it more prone to clear coat failure. He went with clear coat and paint preservation more than a carshow look. And some people wonder why their clear coat is done after about 4 or 5 years. Is because they never take care of it or maintain it
Literally every single detailer who actually knows and cares about their customer would not install a ceramic coating without at the very least a polish. The coating won’t even bond at its best without it being a freshly polished surface. Ceramic pro did it because they actually don’t give a fuck and just want your money. Same reason they charge out the ass for their “sport coating” when it’s actually just a spray sealant.
Jose Marin correct! Even if -5 miles!! My car dealer detailed my car before I took delivery of it and it was a bit oily on the side panels because the tire dresser was flinging everywhere!
Jose Marin always paint correction even with 0 miles. At least light clay, 1 step polish correction, IPA wipe down wink. Dealers put crap on your paint and vehicles travel very far on train/semi truck which can leave lots of surface rust/ orange peel
I ended up watching your sport video again after a couple years and noticed you replied! This video I appreciated because you actually took that advice with the wash and wax (sort of lol) Definitely a lot better review but I'd say the control would be more along the lines of actually following through and getting the paint corrected. Don't cheap out like you state lol. Other than that, keep up the good work!
Welcome back to another video and thank you Kyle! Totally understand and I promise you I wouldn't have cheaped out if I made more money of these videos haha :)
applying a sealant makes it also easier to clean. I’m surprised how the shop didn’t even educate you prior and let you pay them to do the work without the correction and that’s even a ceramic pro authorized installer 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I always educate my customer the process and how to maximize the coating. The key on the gloss is the polishing not the ceramic. Ceramic helps it reflect even better and give you that durable protection. You just wasted your money lol take this video down! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good review but definitely disagree with almost everything. I say almost because you corrected yourself about the waterless wash and wax. But this is a very misleading video for anyone who doesn't know pro detailing or ceramic coatings. Example clay bar does not make your vehicle look good it actually makes it look worse by adding paint marring. It's a needed process before paint correction and/or ceramic coatings. Also I've done seasonal maintenance washes of a few vehicles coated with ceramic pro and either their installers aren't educated enough or their product isn't very good. Very little ceramic properties. Each customer was poorly educated on coatings. Example the last guy I spoke with said his 9h coating isn't hydrophobic because of how hard the coating is. Ceramic coating actually amplifies the surface so going with no paint correction is not recommended. As you said "don't cheap out" This is for anyone looking into coatings. As for the video creator, I'm glad you're satisfied. Try finding installers that use IGL Coatings, Gtechniq, Feynlab, and in my experience even consumer grade "chocolate milk" carpro cquartz 3.0 is more durable and last like it should.
Just went to my local detailer for the same reasons as you and they recommended I just get Sport. Have you noticed a big difference in cleaning and shine compared on the 9H vs Sport?
I dropped off my Ducati at Dynamic Detailing today to have the paint correction & the silver+ ceramic pro 9H package. It's a bit pricey but should be well worth it.
I am getting a 2020 v4s. Do you think it was worth it now? Did you have any carbon fiber? Did they do the wheels? I appreciate any replies as I am looking into doing this but it is so expensive and they won’t take the wheels off so it’s like hmm
Sorry dude you don’t know what you are doing. When the car is coated you should be touching the car AS LITTLE as possible. You should not be rubbing it down with a waterless was. Correct care would be washing the car lightly and using a leaf blower to dry the bulk of the water.
With the bird poop, "definitely don't wipe it off dry". why? It wouldn't scratch the 9H coating if it is actually 9H. So basically treat it like a normal waxed car? What does the 9H mean in this business? Any car that has been properly buffed and waxed will shine like that for a decent amount of time. Don't get what the advantage of this expensive process gives you. What is game changing about it? Also any time people start calling regular things like buffing and cleaning "paint correction and detailing" coupled with "not easy to apply" (i.e. don't try this at home - only use authorized technicians ) and you know there is a business model in place that is questionable.
Appreciate the video bro. Great job. I do agree that you have to almost 💯 % of the time do the paint correction. I did. I can’t think of a single scenario in which you wouldn’t, but hey, to each his own. 👍
My 2021 Ford Mustang GT Premium in Antimatter Blue is getting done this week in Melbourne Florida....I REALLY hope she turns out as well as yours did (I'm having it done within 200 miles on the car, so....quick protection!)
Dan it's gonna turn out amazing, congrats on the Mustang GT! Thanks for watching the video. Would appreciate if you subscribe. Have a few Mustang videos on the channel including a GT500 and a 700hp supercharged GT. -Ben
The car was fairly new and he didn't care or probably notice too much micro scratching so after the clay bar the used probably Menzerna polish followed by an alcohol/light thinner cleaning. These commenters have no clue what they are talking about. They just want the extra paint correction $
@@gunesinan814 unfortunately there’s a lot of shops like these just for the money. They have no clue what they are doing. Clay is an abrasive and Mars paint. So if your not doing a correction no way am I claying a car. Not to mention there’s no ceramic that is permanent and the fact that this brand claims that is enough alone to turn me away from their company and products
Only a brand like them would apply a coating on a car without doing a pint correction first. I am (not anymore) an official authorised detailer applying CP and I can tell you it's not worth it. The product is just bad. You can achieve the same thing with a simple ceramic based shampoo from ebay
But if you're a certified installer for CP then you should know that paint correction is an extra fee. Some people don't want to pay for the correction work and want only the coating (understanding that it won't fill any scratches or swirls). And ceramic based shampoos/ soaps do not yield a permanent bond to the painted surface
I agree, ceramic pro and gtechnic are the crapiest ceramics out there, I dont really know why are so expensive, by far carpro cquartz 3.0 or kamikaze are better and cheaper, synchro package from gyeon really phenomenal product too.
@@dadideluxeautodetailinginc6742 yeah I was accredited through Gyeon and used their pro coatings as well as mohs, syncro, can coat (maybe 200-300 applications of all combined) then started with Crystal Serum light then ultra. I wonder what was crap about Gtechniq. Ceramic pro definitely has some shady marketing. I also like the Kamikaze coatings as well. Gyeon's new pro coating and warranty program does seem intriguing though.
You should wax it off and on. It’s a good topper. The product he was using probably just cheap and didn’t do well. I wax mine ever time as a drying aid and works perfect and keeps your ceramic safe and improves the life of it.
How long do you have to wait after apply 9h before applying the top coat? You said overnight so like 12 hours? If I have the Ceramic Pro Glass do I not apply 9h to the glass and just use the CO Glass?
my guy... you got it washed waterlessly, then clayed, and didnt do a paint correction before a ceramic pro 9h application? like why do it? holymoly lmao that thing probably looks like ass
They let you do it without Paint Correction!! I don't understand how are they certified!!!! Even if the customer wants it a good detailer simply Won't put Ceramic coating on a car just only after clay without doing paint Correction? Severe lack of basic knowledge from both the consumer and the Detailer. Or the detailer simply doesn't care. What a shame.
Funny how you said you want a shop that actually knows what they’re doing, but they applied the coating without a paint correction lol. Even brand new cars need a paint correction or if you want to understand better, a fine polish for the coating to bond correctly
Should I Get It Reviews Should I Get It Reviews I recently did a couple corrections for a shop who installs ceramic pro, and i believe they’re not even allowed to do an installation of the coating without correction I believe it interferes with the warranty. Because like I said, coating does not bond correctly to the surface, and THEN they did not do a chemical decon with an iron remover. Everytime a customer comes try to get a coating without a correction I just decide to pass, it is not proper and not professional. But car looks great buddy just dont always get caught by the nice looking shop etc, believe me shops with 1 or 2 people max are the best
I've used a number of coatings that are considered consumer grade, and I still can't figure out the benefit of spending the extra money and going with a certified pro-grade coating like ceramic pro, over a consumer grade coating.
I think because ceramic pro gets uploaded to carfax which increases value to vehicle. And In the event someone sells their vehicle, warranty carries over to the new owner
I hate to be one of those You Tube complainers, but wow, friend. You spent all that money and then bought the wrong cleaner, with wax in it? And instead of returning it, you intend to muscle through it? Hope that doesn't void the 5 year warranty. Again, best of luck. Thank you for posting, but I've gotta say, between this video and the other one, maybe car detailing videos just aren't your thing. *shrugs*
Car detailing is definitely not my thing, but I do appreciate you watching both videos. A bit hard to return used car cleaner to amazon I’d assume. All good, no offensive taken
@@shouldigetit I see they at least used a mild form of clay but still marring the paint regardless. Bare minimum for me is a single step polish as prep so that a car isn't leaving with more swirls than it came in with.
@@shouldigetit I start at $460 and include a polish. While it's nothing special as far as chasing perfection, it meets an industry standard quality of at least getting the clay marring and light swirls out before application. I totally understand customers not wanting to pay $1000+ for "perfection". I'm not knocking you for wanting to be cost effective. More so the shop for not going that extra step so that something could leave less swirled than it came in. Doesn't really matter what you spent but I do hope it was around half my minimum as the majority of a coating cost is the proper prep work.
@@shouldigetit as the guy above said ain’t knocking you it’s your car you choose what you want to do with it but you should probably listen to many of these commenters as they seems to have some knowledge of this stuff and as a detailer myself who does ceramic coatings I can say that you’re not getting the full durability without at least a polish but it can still work but detailers normally have some moral to not ceramic coat or clay bar without a polish and also you definitely are getting ripped off in a sense cuz private detailers who work for themselves can do a better coating and a full paint correction for the price you stated you paid for just the coating and partial prep and I do have a thing against ceramic pro for marketing as a permanent coating but then saying they put 4-5 layers of coatings that’s contradictory but aye if you’re happy then I’m happy next time look into better value options if possible especially here in Cali I know there are better options instead of big name shops who aren’t just tryna make the most money off of you
@@shouldigetit Wow, really? I took my 2 week old Tesla in last FRIDAY to a very reputable place in Southern California and it's STILL not quite finished (Wednesday afternoon). I got the XPEL bra on the entire front and full gold package ceramic, plus paint correction. Seems like a few steps were skipped on yours, including an actual wash with water (did they just spritz it with spray bottles and wipe it down...?). Best of luck!
Thanks for the video! I'm actually doing research because I just got a quite from Dynamic! But, I might end up doing at least the 1-stage paint correction.
If you keep washing your car with that strong wipedowns your ceramic coating is worthless, you are going to scratch the clearcoat again and in a year it will look awful as a non coated car.
