This Video Series is in Loving memory of my Uncle who passed away on the 9th of April 2016 of Cancer. He was the main reason for my Love of Steam, I'll never forget all the wonderful trips we had together.
On the 11th of March 2016 Ceres Railway Company departed Demeter Station on Ceres Golf Estate behind 19D 3321, destination an overnight stop in Swellendam, on the way to Voorbaai Locomotive Depot in Mossel Bay. The trip to Mossel Bay was to go and collect Ceres Railway Companies newly restored Class 19B no.1412.
1412 has been restored by Bobbie Rudman and his team at Voorbaai, including Ockert Venter (Assistant Fitter), David Breytenbach (Boilermaker), Willie Liebenberg (Turner). These men have put hours of blood, sweat and tears into this locomotives restoration.
I would like to thank Frank Brooks, my father, for organizing the trip for the two of us, Dad, I really appreciate it.
To Wayne Nauschutz and Shane Swartz, thank you for letting me tag along with some of your chase, it was filled with lots of Steam, Smiles and Laughter!
To the Crews for the trip, well done, you did all of us at Atlantic Rail extremely proud and I commend your determination!
A big THANK YOU, goes to Derick Du Toit and Simon Beckett for the large amounts of money they have pumped into steam tourism in the past year and a half.
I hope everyone enjoys this video and watches the next part of the series
