On June 18th & 19th 2022, Stimela Photographic Events organised a 2-day photographic charter with Ceres Rail Company that took place on the Wolseley - Prince Alfred Hamlet branch line using ex-SAR 19B #1412 and a train consist resembling that from the 1970s.
This charter coincided with a private international tour group that had a photographic charter on the branchline on the 16th & 17th, and then a trip on the Malmesbury line on Monday the 20th of June 2022. As a result of this, oil-burning class 19D No.3322 was added to the consist on Saturday the 18th in order to have a double-header.
Despite a largely wet and overcast Saturday, we started bright and early at Demeter station and traveled down the scenic Michell's Pass to Wolseley. On return, the train spent the morning in Michell's Pass for a morning of photography and then in the early afternoon traveed the more rural Demeter to Prince Alfred Hamlet section.
Sunday morning found us on a pre-dawn departure to Prince Alfred Hamlet, where spectacular lighting was to be had.
As a bonus in this video, I include footage from the private international charter from Friday afternoon at Prince Alfred Hamlet, as well as the chartered trip to Malmesbury on the Monday. This was with class 19D No.3322.
