Tab and Slot welding tables are modular tables that can be customized for your individual needs. At the release of this video, there is not a kit that comes with the Fab Block, Fab Rack (Legs), and the Casters; so you need to purchase them separately.
For that reason, we did a second part of this video that is dedicated to simply build the Fab Rack, after you have completed the Fab Block build. It is really easy to build the leg assembly, however we have put some tips and tricks in this video that will help you get everything right the first time. Enjoy!

Very well hosted, edited, and presented. The ghost welding was an innovative way of speeding things up. Appreciate that a gentleman closer to my age, was demonstrating that maybe even I could tackle a project like this.

Thanks for the videos. Now I want one. I have used some tab and slot produced parts in a street rod project and loved it. With all those holes in the table top gives unlimited possibilities for clamps and tooling.

You should be a teacher. Good clear instruction and practical. Bought one of these tables and man o man you’re right. It’s HEAVY. I used a front end loader with slings to rotate it. Thanks for the video

Great Video Adrian These are a very professional unique table no comparison to scrap yard refuges we normally make!! You are an excellent presenter/teacher you have a very easy style and are very informative You have interesting little side comments that only come from field experience Its like talking to a friend Even though we are approximately the same age and I have a lot of field experiences I find your videos fun and educational I hope you can continue. Arc on my Friend ! Thanks Jeff

I want one of these for my Everlast welders. The holes alone would be a great help getting things clamped down fast and tight.

that looks like a helluva project even for a first welding table. i would like to see some proving of flatness and squareness before i drop some coin on that sweet kit, can you show how flat, level and square that table is? legs too. thanks for all the videos!

A stick of 3/4" all thread rod, four 3/4" rod couplings and some scrap flat bar out of the boneyard and you can spin out four elevator feet that, when mounted inside the braces by welding the couplings in near each leg give you a way to relieve the casters, provide a more rock solid footing for the table and if the floor is less than perfect you can both level the table and eliminate any wibble wobble.
@BackFire10mm

Love the video. For tig welders or sitting welders it seems the cross leg supports would get in the way of the foot pedal and the welder's legs. Wonder if they offer a different leg set up? I will check their website for different leg support options, or just make my own. Nice job Sir. Thank you.

How do you level out the table each time it is moved with the casters?
@theeggman7242
@theeggman7242 8 лет назад
I absolutely LOVE this table kit. My only gripe would be in the height of the table. To me, it seems like it would be the perfect height, without the casters....however, if I get one, I'd like to have the casters on it. Could Table and Slot create one of these kits with shorter legs to offset this added height created by using the casters? Thanks for another great video!

You can always chop the legs down by removing a section from the middle somewhere

Yes they will custom make legs any length you want. Just contact manufacturer.

This maybe a odd question but here it goes. How come all welding tables are made out of steel verse light and strong aluminum? Aluminum has great conductivity and would reduce weight of the table dramatically. I understand the cost is probably the main concern but to me I would much rather have a light weight table to roll around my shop than something that requires a fork lift to move.
@pvtimberfaller
@pvtimberfaller 6 лет назад
There are a few but since Aluminum melts at such a low temp weld berries & torches will mess up the work surface much easier plus it is so soft it will ding & wear much faster & easier than steel.
@garykarczewski6678
@garykarczewski6678 6 лет назад
That make sense. One could fabricate the strength areas with Aluminum and overall structure than use a thin steel over lay to prevent the "melt and berries".
@scottwillis5434
@scottwillis5434 5 лет назад
Look up "thermal expansion". Aluminum expands much more than steel. The top would curl up.

I've seen two types of these tables... one with the sides and without. What's the benefit of having the sides? The one without seem a lot cheaper.
@Welddotcom
@Welddotcom 7 лет назад
More fixturing capability. Also, you can get extensions that bolt to the sides if you ever want to extend the table.
@scottwillis5434
@scottwillis5434 5 лет назад
Far stiffer. Take a piece of 1x lumber and lay it flat across two sawhorses. Watch it flex. Now attach a 1x3..1x6 at 90 degrees on either side. Notice how stiff it becomes.

Looks like you could start this project with almost zero welding experience. By the time your table was together, you'd be a pro.
@tazmankb26

I was thinking the same thing. Great stick weld starter project and you would get some solid experience and time behind the helmet
@mr.nobody68
@mr.nobody68 5 лет назад
That's a really well thought out and engineered table but, good God, that top had a hell of a lot of support cross members. And then these spindly little chicken legs. I would be adding gussets all around the legs and their cross bars. I'm a firm believer in over building shit because you can over build it as much as you want but, you can only under build it once. That's just me though
@kohgoes
@kohgoes 4 года назад
if you brace material enough, material does not necessarily need to be as thick and heavy, or tube as large in diameter, like the legs. This is actually better leg design than many other table/leg kits.

Sorry, but that thin plate wouldn't survive the first part being dropped by the magnet in our shop. It might be okay for light fabrication, but not anywhere near ready for big boy work.

Way too heavy, Way to fiddly to work on, probably way to expensive, better go for 1/2 or more steel and welsd some legs and supports to it.

@MrSteveo357

Bryn Noble 1/2 is ok if it's flat. Not flat kinda sucks.
@kohgoes
@kohgoes 4 года назад
So, you think "1/2" or more steel" is lighter? "Too fiddly"? Maximum flatness per weight, with infinite fixturing possibilities everywhere,including built onto a vertical axis at the edges. Take your "non fiddly" "lighter 1/2 steel or more plate", and lay out a repeatable fixture pattern, in the Center of a 4-5' table in 60 seconds like you can on one of these... GO... let's see you do it
