Now THAT'S a chronograph! What a watch you have there. I have a DS 1. My favorite watch hands down. I feel like Certina is the best kept secret in Swiss watches. You were right, they don't get much attention but man when you get one in your hands it feels like Omega who? I don't care to have anything more expensive personally when you can get a Certina.
I've been looking for a watch with these exact specs for the last 4 years and I've finally found it. Can't recommend this watch highly enough. So functional, practical, feature-rich, affordable, and extremely well built. Don't let the quartz movement and affordable price tag fool you, this is a quality piece. It won't replace my mechanical watches as daily wearers but it's literally unbeatable as a beater for active use. Imo, every collection can benefit from a good quartz chrono beater and this one's the best out there. For anyone who doesn't love the Gshock, this is your solution.
@@me_random_gerard Yea, I have a 6.8" wrist and it's fine. Case is a bit flat and doesn't angle down much, which is probably my only gripe ab the watch. Bought it on bracelet but put it on a Barton silicone and it wears beautifully. Gained 1.6 seconds TOTAL in the last month, btw. Super accurate.

Ive never been able to connect w a quartz watch before but this one is so good, so practical and useful, and with 27 jewels and 5 individual motors the ETA 251.262 caliber inside is fully repairable and serviceable, unlike most cheap quartz watches. Sorry, I could rant all day about this unsung hidden gem of a watch... 😁 Btw, Jomashop has them for cheap
I have the DS action Diver Special Edition. The quality&material is amazing for it's price. I also have a new model of Tag heuer & Rado. But Certina is still great in terms of Build quality even though the price is half of them both
I bought a certina ds action 200m quartz in the sale last month. The quality is just superb! Cosc certified quartz, 200m water resistant, and sapphire crystal for £246 just incredible value and quality! I compared it against my friends. TAG HEUR which was £1,800, and the quality was no different! Just amazing value.
@@usmanp7895 yeah it was in the sale, full price £415. Purchased from Earnest Jones in the UK. Not sure of the model number, its the ds action quartz with green indices and black face, 41mm.
Nice video! I see this three years later, but here I sit with exact the same watch on the wrist. Yeah, I love it too, it's my quartz Speedmaster. Will get the white version (no chrono) tomorrow and look very much forward to it. Thanks for sharing your nice thoughts!
Absolutely beautiful, everything about it is just perfect; that beautiful deep black like ‘oled black ! I have bought a blue dial chrono ds yesterday and the quality is amazing; I am normally a Tissot fan but I would say certina seem to be slightly above in quality and Finnish : ❤️❤️❤️
I have had this watch for over 5 years and I'm still in love with it. I cycle between it and the Movado Series 800. One thing not mentioned in the video is the domed crystal. It's the only domed crystal in my collection and I love it. I got back into watch collecting recently and just bought 2 Tissots. One of them being the Ballade automatic (my second automatic). I then looked to higher tier watches and fell in love with the Breitling Superocean B01 ($9k). Its black bezel on blue dial is just breath-taking. I wish Certina would make a DS First revision in that color combo. I would gladly pay up to $2k for it as the B01 alternative. Knowing them, it would cost sub $800 making such a beautiful watch accessible to many. I hope they do make it.
Certina is a brand that I've overlooked in the past, they do offer great vfm even better on the used or grey market. I've a DS1 winging it's way to me from the U.S.A. even with import duty & taxes it's a bargain. Thanks for the video.
I just picked up the titanium version of this, and it's an excellent piece. Love it, but..... the SS version definitely has a "blacker" dial than mine. The dial on the titanium version has a more dark gray sunburst effect. Would've preferred the dial you've got. They're impossible to find, so I probably overpaid a little, but I'm happy with it. i appreciate , that Certina is understatement and not that well known watch brands..why? oterwhise i couldnt afford this amazing Swiss watch brand.....the quality, performance, design, movements quartz like precidrive with less 5+- seconds per year! or mechanical movements from ETA that are features the price range starts usually around 2000.......be good
I had the diver version and this watch is just fantastic. You are right the brand is very underrated and especially this model among the productline of Certina is underrated as well. I think the size is great but for me the lug to lug distance was too much although the case size of 41mm is great.
What do you think of the Certina DS Podium? They have them on sale at Jomashop for $239, I'm think I may pick one up to join my Certina DS-2 Chronograph. I'm impressed with this DS First watch you are showing with 200m and ceramic bezel but Jomashop states a 21mm lugwidth.
I think it's a great deal for 239 USD. Oh, well I just ordered two straps with 22mm lug width... might have to return them if they don't fit! :( Thanks for watching!
I have the same watch and despite my very small wrist it doesn't look oversized in my opinion due to the fact that it is rather flat. Steel strap can be shortened enough even for very small wrists.
