Love mine. I wear mine on the second hole on the strap. I find the size perfect 👌🏼 the actual watch face is small it’s the chunky bezel that brings the size up. The movement floats on shock absorbers so that’s why the case is bigger than the original. Mine gains just under a second a day beating all my watches costing 10 times more in accuracy. I have three watches with this movement in and they are all extremely accurate. If you want something retro cool you won’t find better for the price. The quality is very very good for the price point too. Very recommend 👍🏼
Mark Locke I would but Certina have released a new version with sapphire ceramic and a anti magnetic movement. I would definitely pay the extra for the new version.
I just received this watch and love it, the size is not a problem on my 7.4 inch wrist it wears really compact and feels great on both the leather and Nato, i do prefer the Nato! I've got a collection of swiss and Japanese watches, and you dont really tell that its beating (sweeping) slower. This is one of my favourites at the minute and has 80 hours power reserve! Any way great review mate i bought this watch because of the reviews yours being one. 😊
The Size is perfect I think. I have it on my Wrist since 2 Weeks and it looks very nice and it is very comfortable. My wrist is 20 cm and I guess the watch could be even bigger.
Beautiful re-issue. Definitely a watch for serious consideration. FYI, there is plenty documented evidence that the average wrist size is 18.42 mm. Perhaps the average rate enthusiasts are small wristed an small boned
Not sure where you got the exact figure for 18.42mm from but the "average" wrist size will vary country to country, and I highly doubt that the global average for men is this big. I saw that the most preferred case size based on a WUS poll is 38mm.
appreciate your viewpoints pro and con,but for me this would be the perfect watch were it not for the 21,600 bpm. part of the fun of an swiss watch is the smoooth flow of the seconds hand at higher beat rates.in fact, when you took off your maurice lacroix and i briefly saw that second hand, it was such a difference from the certina, it verified for me how important this issue is at this level of watch. if i'm spending $600+ for a watch, especially a swiss watch, i don't want the second hand to move around the dial like a vostok or seiko SKX. nothing wrong with that for their price, and i have many of them, but at this level i want the pleasure of the smooth higher bpm.
nice review. i disagree with some of the knocks, such as the size, but you bring up the point so others can decide which is good. one thing i found to be off was your pricing. i don't know if things were different in january, but by the end of may this watch can only be had overseas (for us in the U.S.) and prices generally come to $750, and if you're lucky that will include shipping. i've found several overseas authorized dealers around that price. i was lucky to snag one from an authorized dealer in Spain selling on ebay for $681 shipped 4-day DHL, which is amazing, however when i went back to check if there were more for my friends, i got the last one at that price and it had already gone up to, yes, $750 USD without shipping. so you might be in Europe and thought we here in the states could get a deal on this. still, $750 for this watch is, in fact, still a deal. by the way, you can get strap punches on ebay ;D
These type of reviews are absolutely terrible. To put such emphasis on your own opinion of it being too big is just wrong. It isn't too big. Wear it and take a pic of it in the mirror for a more accurate representation of how it really looks and there's little to no difference between approximately 38mm to 43mm. It is being extremely pedantic to go into so much effort for the sake of 2mm or so. I'm not exactly a fan of any specific size. Most sizes look great on my 7 inch wrist between approximately 36mm and 44mm. I bet you wouldn't complain about a 44mm flieger because "it's supposed to be big".

Ok this comment is gonna get me in a bit of trouble.... 200m WR.... Acrylic Crystal.... Strap not that great....Design is a matter of taste.... Runs great if regulated propperly......tried n' true specs.....Sounds like a 80 bucks Vostok to me!!! So why should I spend 700 bucks? That's the problem, people wanna wear a Name on their wrist!
