Thanks you so much Laura for making these videos about your ordeal. I am probably facing the same kind of surgery and although I haven't met with any neurosurgeon yet I'm pretty sure I need this done. I'm having weakness and slight numbness down my right arm and hand and the base of my neck always seems to be sore. I first thought it was my shoulder because that's where I would have pain, I never thought it was my neck. Then shoulder pain turned into the numbness and weakness. I have had 3 steroid injections in my cervical discs to try to deal with it non-surgically but they haven't been much help. Anyhow I hope your doing better these days and are back to normal. God bless.
Thank you for this video. A year ago I was told I needed surgery, but it was not dire. Now a year later numbness is worse, I even have numbness in my toes. I have 4 vertebrae that are almost fused. I think I have a high tolerance for pain because I just have achiness and I'm very close to bone on bone. I have a lot of crunching when I turn or rotate my neck. I have had to set my surgery out to September due to financial difficulties. Your video is helpful. I'm looking forward to seeing your results. My first remembered next injury was from diving in high school, many many years ago. Thank you for sharing your journey. 🌸🌸🌸
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I also need an ACDF c5-c7. Being a 29 year old athlete I am so nervous but thankful I might be able to get better with surgery!
Dear Laura, have just picked up your video message courtesy Frank Gorman's wonderful service to the worldwide diving family. My prayers for you have been offered . Best wishes and remembering your outstanding skills that I had the privilege to watch in a number of events as your Referee. Sincerely, Robin MN Hood (NZL) - FINA TDC Retired.
Thank you I am facing surgery and I watched your pee and pay op videos. I'm still not sure but I will be speaking with my surgeon next week and we will make the decision then. It's looking likely surgery.
Hi. I just saw this but I had this same surgery in 2012. I live in the Houston area as well. Everything you are describing is the surgery I had. I am praying for you! If you have any recovery questions or need.m a friend who knows I’m here.
@@TheLauraWilkinson Hi Laura. Your 1 week post op video mysteriously appeared on my phone. What a blessing. I am having the surgery 9/23/19 and many of the questions I have had you answered. Thank you so much for making them. Luv in Jesus.
I tried to delay but it’s pressing my cord and blocking the csf so much I blacked out, vertigo , blurry vision, nausea, losing control of fine motor skills
Hi Laura thanks for your positive videos I just want to know did you had pain in your neck and shoulder top of the nerve pinch and weakness i I have both pain for over 5years and my surgeon wants to do Acdf on my c5-c6 please let me know and also how you doing so far ❤️❤️❤️
I am curious as to why you went with ACDF instead of disk replacement? My doctor is also recommending ACDF but my preference would be disk replacement.
Hello there…How are you feeling now? Looking back years later, would you still get the surgery done? I need a fusion at the C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels. I am 35 years old and work as a police officer, I’m worried that I won’t be able to continue my career after surgery.
