Cerwin Vega 1515 and TS-42 playing insane loud!!! 128,7 dB 

Oh man.. I love the old 1215´s.. So rare and a really beautifull speaker.

THANK you for using a sound level meter to actually show us how loud the system is. 120-128DB is insane and uncomfortable for me even wearing ear protection!. ( you ARE wearing hearing protection right???)

Retina detacher is what I call it. I have a couple of TS-42's. Love them!! Breaks stuff and things..... :) Sucks that Cerwin Vega no longer makes them after Gibson acquired them.

+Miguel Oliveira. Yes i think the TS-42 goes deep, and with an VERY hard punch;) Your hole body is chattering! In my room i measured Xls 215 at 121 DB alone. Its a fearly cheep speaker with a massiv dynamikk and sound:)

Hello Miguel:) TS-42 can hit 144 DB in theory!Then when you add one more they can together hit +3 DB more. This is estimated 1 meter away from speaker:) That would be insanly loud and a doubt they can hit this DB in my rom, or in a mutch bigger room that they are ment to play in!In this video l am far from playing at max, more like 75%. My DB measurement only goes to 130 DB. If l had walked towards the speakers it would hit way over 130 DB, 1 meter away from speakers;)I can promise you, everything in the room, over and besides are shaking madly. TS-42 are some monsters and are not made for privat houses, he he;):)

Hello Baggoz1000:)Yes it is a track with plenty of bass and plenty of deep bass to. I like this track even more on my 1215 Mk1 or 2, because these speakers playes even deeper!I do like old school techno and so on;)I also have a par of Xls-215 (You can see them in an other video) Its a very punchy speaker, and even the top end is very pleasant:) So if you do like this type of music i will say the Xls-215 is the best speaker on the marked:)Give them plenty of power tough. This speakers are good for a lot more than the 500 Watt Peak they are rated with!! Trust me;)So go buy them. There are no better speakers for this music:)

hello my friend nice track selection-plenty of bass!!! i'm also a big Prodigy fan & also old school hardcore-techno,drum & bass,as well..... i'm thinking of buying a pair of xls-215 & run them with my Yamaha RS-700 amplifier. what is your opinion(own experience) about vegas' playing electronic music??? will i be satisfied? thank you in advance,Vaggelis

how does the TS-42 feel? i can only imagine. i have a pair of the cva 121's and you can feel it in your chest 20ft away. i would love to upgrade to those monsters

If you had a better crossover network for the subwoofers and adequate power, you can achieve 140+dB.. It appears you have the power and also staging is key as well as positioning of the dB meter. That meter probably doesn't go past 130dB?

Baggoz1000,thanx:) Cerwin Vega Cxa 8, or even better Cxa 10 (CV 1800) Xls 215 needs a LOT of power to sound what they are ment to. Xls 15 is better if you "only" have 200-300 Watt 6 Ohm?:)If you play with a too small amp, you only break the speakers! Check out cerwinvega.com:)
