Malcolm I thought I'd already responded to your comment at the time but just checking through the "I haven't responded" column in RU-vid Studio and saw that I didn't thank you. Three years is a long time to wait for appreciation but thanks!
Sarah it’s great to hear that you found the video useful, thanks for letting me know. My motivation for making the series came after the manager of my local RSPB reserve pointed out the song of the Lesser Whitethroat to me. Almost immediately I was able to locate one and I thought there must be loads of people out there who would appreciate a hand with bird song recognition and making videos seemed the way to go. Of course it’s quite challenging finding birds actually singing and none more than the Cetti’s!
I’ve just realised that for some reason I haven’t replied and thanked you for your encouraging comment. I think three years is too long to wait so apologies and thank you very much. 🙏
Took me ages when I first started birdwatching to see one of these. One day I said right I'm not going home until I see one. Put a bit of time in and after about an hour I saw my first, after that they were everywhere lol. Still not easy at times though are they. Great footage and well put together the video.
Thank you C. Exactly the same, spent many a frustrating session hoping to see one calling from a nearby bush or reed bed. Then I realised they usually travel in a route around their patch often returning to the same perch and once I worked out where that was could set up the camera and wait!
@@johnluk I was on the Norfolk Broads on a boat one year in spring. So I am up early about 5am having a cuppa on the back of the boat and realise I'm in the middle of a Cetti's territory. I sit there watching the Reeds and Sedge's and the Cettis is calling from the same three spot's time after time. I've noticed with all that I've seen that they have a triangular territory. Not saying that is always the case but just when I've taken the time to observe. Have you found that?
+black bob Cheers Bob! When I started a couple of years ago I even confused a Chiffchaff with a Cetti's (visually, there's no mistaking their calls) and that's what made me start this series. Thank you so much for your kind comment! 😊
