For the price and what it is I think it's a great deal. I think it's definitely worth the price and makes a great gift. I did just purchased the E120 helicopter I think it's called for about $69 with the 3 batteries as a gift. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Nice review AD! For the price you can’t ask too much but it does do a fantastic job with range. Btw, you were using the wrong app with it and that is what caused the FPV freezing, video resolution and frame-rate, etc. The actual app is called C-Fly Go (not C-Fly 2). I recommend trying it again with the proper app to see the actual range and flight performance you get. 👍🏻 I definitely want to see you review the Faith Mini 2, I think you’ll like that one just as much as this one even more.
Thanks! I was waiting for someone to mention that as I didn't go into the details of my "retesting" setup, but I did use the regular Cfly-go for the retests for resolution, range and the quick shots and unfortunately in my case it acted exactly the same, should have been clearer about that. When I mentioned that I "tested it again" I used the cfly go app for those re-tests (I actually went out 2 more times on purpose with a different device and the older app, that dang 1 battery makes doing much in one sitting tough). The 2.7k resolution screen shots and file details shown in my summary discussion was also using the cfly go app. It was a pain that I needed to use the newer app for the tablet I was testing as the regular go would not run on it as apparently it was too old for the OS, or at least so the tablet manufacturer says. 🤙🤙
@@AlienDrones Ah ok, I see. All in all, it’s a decent little quad with a 3-axis gimbal that’s fun for starters to play around with and get the feel of the hobby. Strange that the tablet (the Hugerock I assume) didn’t recognize the C-Fly Go app as its a new app just released on both iOS and Android. 🤷🏻♂️
@@DroneSyndrome Yes, it was a bit disappointing in that regard. The support for a product is important, and this left a bit to be desired. Not a big fan when support points everywhere else instead of stepping up themselves.
@@AlienDrones Is there software for this drone that you can use to plot a route and take a picture at a set distance, something like a photogrammetry shot?
It depends on the time and the weather, there were a few people earlier but it cooled off a bit. Later it filled up with 2 busloads of first graders...
i made lot of flights with this cheap little drone over 200km total flight distance. For the price you cant get better. good range(reached easy 2km in open field) good battery flight time , easy to control only camera sensor could be better.
Now that's a drone worth the price!!! Always a good fair review!!! I feel that other beginner drones that are 300+ are not worth it, as better off spending a little more for a cheap DJI. This Cfly is priced to sell!
If you would have choosen the the Cfly mini 2 for 50-70 USD more you would have got a bigger Battery = 2600mah instead of 2100mah and real 4K30 , even 1080P 60 FPS would have been possible , Banggood currently has the Cfly Faith mini 2 on sale , i buyed it for 258 Euro with 2 Batterys , thats with 19 % VAT included
Great video and very honest, it has just what you need to know if this drone is a good option. Although I would like to know if the camera has more frame and bit rate options.
No comparison, the ATOM is more stable, better video and better functionality, BUT (that's a BIG BUT) it's twice the price, so VALUE-wise, depending on your needs, they are BOTH a great value. If you're a newbie, just getting into drones, buy the Faith Mini, learn to fly, crash it, then when you're ready, step up to the ATOM.
amzn.to/3Y4PbO0 This one works, but had to be ingenious with a few rubber bands to keep it stable. It's what I had but it is cheap and works but probably better ones out there.
Thanks for the video...I have flown 3 different Faith mini drones and the clone contixo f36...all of them had the same major issue...normal speed mode turns/rotates slow which is as expected...but sports mode also turns EXTREMELY slow...makes drone dangerous to fly and takes away fun factor...it takes hundreds of feet to make a turn...you can change normal mode turn speed but not sports mode turn speed...anyone else have this issue?!
Thanks! I didn't remember it being super slow so I went back and looked at some footage and it seemed to turn at a reasonable speed, but I don't remember ever moving it to sport mode to check it there. I'll have to pay more attention next time out. Obviously seems to be a bit backwards if that's the case...
@@AlienDrones I have not seen this issue with other mini drones like dji or fimi x8 v2 or potensic atom...it is driving me crazy because I could almost swear the first faith mini I flew was fine at first..maybe something changed...since then I reinstalled app, changed all normal mode speeds to max, tried to contact cfly but no response...contixo responded and just said sport mode turning speed could not be changed...not sure if it is just me or if everyone is having this issue ...shame because otherwise not a bad drone for price
To be honest, at first glance that seems like a pretty rough drone for that price. I've seen so many of the off brands that honestly click bait people into buying them and it ends up being a really frustrating experience. My 2 cents would be steer clear.
Of course. I was the only one that would do them when nobody heard of EXO, did a bunch and even did an interview with the owner (at the time). Since then a few others have copied everything I did, but "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" they say. www.youtube.com/@AlienDrones/search?query=exo I still own and fly the Blackhawk 2 pro often (yesterday in fact), works well for me though I can't sneak up on anyone with it, it sounds like an swarm of angry bees. Great camera though. I'm going to be selling 2 of the Blackhawk 2 minis pros, probably list them today or tomorrow. Listed the X7 Range Plus a couple of hours ago...
I did order a few times from the Banggood site and personally didn't have any issues so far, not had any issues with getting delivery or getting my card scammed. One way that I use different sites if I'm worried about it is to purchase a Visa gift card for the exact amount you need and use that, then if something happens they don't have you're credit card or bank info. You can also use PayPal, having them in the middle helps secure the transaction too. They do have free returns if the product is received damaged, different, or nonfunctional, but you have to pay for return shipping if you siimply change your mind. I think they are a reputable site but as I always say _do your own due diligence_ so you're comfortable with it... 🤙🤙
I tried a total of 3 different ones and they all circled out of control. Didn't think a new video showing the same problem added anything new so 3 strikes you're out in my book.
@@AlienDrones but don’t know till you try it out correct? Lol make it they will watch we the people need to know lol ❤️come on Keith no excuses lol try it , fly it ? Ur old into? Let just see wht happens lol
Thanks! The correct app is the Cfly go. I used the Cfly 2 app as well (on a different device), and it worked pretty much the same for me. I used the Cfly 2 app only because the cfly go app would not load on the tablet I was testing, some kind of a version thing. Some of the Cfly 2 menu items were a bit different, but most seemed to work ok with the cfly faith mini. Hope this helps!
Correcto, tuve que usar la aplicación más nueva para trabajar en la tableta. Sin embargo, probé la aplicación C-Fly go y tuve los mismos problemas con el modo de seguimiento y la resolución 4k incorrecta.
I bought one of these and the gimble doesn’t seem to respond to my remote. It only allows me to zoom but not tilt. Do you there’s anything I’m doing wrong?
@@AlienDrones yes I am. It’s the same dial that allows you to zoom when you hold the fn button right? It functions to zoom with the dial but cannot move the gimble up or down
@@faheemmohammed7229 The obvious question is has it been crashed? If so, it's a goner. In the settings there is a gimbal speed setting. Is it set to zero? I don't know if it can be, but maybe try and turn it up a bit. If that doesn't work it is defective, there's nothing else. Try and return it.
@@AlienDrones it hasn’t crashed. Must be defective. Unfortunately I’m past my return date. I live in a no fly zone and I couldn’t test it till today. Thanks for your help!
Hey man, I was looking to buy a drone around 250$ but the main thing im lookig for is the range, I need it to go atleast 2-3 miles with no breakup. Any recommendations other than the mini 2 SE? Cheers.
No worries, It's a tough ask because so much of the distance is based on the local conditions (geography, RF, trees, wind, minerals in the ground and even humidity in the air) that the range for the same drone can vary wildly from person to person, so it's tough to know how far it will actually transmit and control without testing it in your situation. Many of the manufacturers specs are simply bogus (or theoretical, so in reality unattainable), so it is difficult to make any conclusions based on that. The drone in this thread is rated at 1.86 miles for instance and at 0.25 miles the FPV was gone, and I still had clear line of site over farm land, so about 1/10th of the rated distance. In reality though, I don't know of any drones that are around $250 that would fit the bill. The price alone begets lower quality by design, even the mini 2 SE starts at $339, not $250. I've found that the m2SE battery is not that great either, so unless it's a one-way trip it could be a struggle. I've not had the opportunity to test at those distances myself as it is illegal in the US to fly beyond visual line of site, so I can't speak from personal experience. Apologies, wish I could give a more concrete answer but hopefully at least some things to consider might help. 🤙
@@AlienDronesThank you so much for the detailed explanation. Yeah I knew it would be hard to find a good drone around that budget, It's fine though, Guess it's best to save up until the 700ish category and buy the mini 3 pro. Again, thank you very much and happy belated Thanksgiving.
@@AramBasmadjian-wz1wj I can't tell which is better, Fimi X8 Mini V2, or DJI Mini 2 SE. But both are lot better than the C-Fly Mini or Potensic Atom that's for sure.
Can't disagree, the Potensic ATOM is excellent. But considering the cheap price this is a fair value for a beginner drone. It comes with compromises in quality for that price, but not so many that it will fly off into a tree or circle out of control during the first flight. 🤙
