So do the math.... 450 pounds for CFMOTO and 412 for the Kawasaki. That is not 50 pounds. Remove the back and stick a $10 tidy tail on for 10lb weight reduction. Then for $134 get a slip on and loose about 30lbs in the muffler and now you are at same or less weight and for only $150 more. The chipset is $70. My 2022 650NK is putting out 74hp unrestricted at 410lbs. I paid out the door for everything $6750. I don't know what you mean by comfort I ride mine everywhere. Steel braided brake lines make it stop better than way more expensive bikes. This is a fantastic bike.
I agree with most of your inputs...And while I agree that if this is someone's first bike, they should definitely go with one of the bigger brands, I think...if this is a second bike, and someone just wants to commute and save money over riding their sport/super bike, this is a great buy! The weight doesn't scare me. The low power is ehh...but at the same time, I'm looking for a cheap commuter...and this ticks almost all my boxes. I want an MT07, but the price of this, just makes it justifiable in my situation. Great review!
Yo i understand your point of view and its completely logical to go for the japanese competition, here in Argentina the price gap is way more between them, MT-07 and z650 are around 20k USD while the NK 650 is around 9k USD.
Whoa! Thanks for sharing that. $1K in USD for the 650NK in the states is still a pretty decent savings, but for $11K savings in Argentina it makes it really hard to even consider other options. Good to know.
Here in italy this bike costs like 2000 euro ( 2000 usd) less than Kawasaki and yamaha, and its price is less than most 400cc or 500cc bikes (even less than the mt03), so for me it is a best buy
brotherman.... you deserve way more subs. Just put a hold payment on a 300nk as my first bike today, having it delivered tomorrow. You are like the only US channel that has reviewed it and you had me sold with that vid. Saved a few thousand over getting an MT-03 (as if there are any in stock anywhere)
most of Yamaha and Suzuki bikes are not in stock anywhere, from what my dealer said up here (who also sells cfmoto since first year in USA) they where told, its going to be years before they get any type of stock from them when it comes to bikes.. thou we do live in northern ny so that could be why.. im thinking about the 300 nk also, i dont like spending alot of money on something you use a couple months out of the year and the top speed is fine for around here.. what gets me is the gas mileage.. you cant beat it for the price.
@@Gender1979 i would say jump on it. I got the 300nk on July 1st, and already put 350 miles on it. I understand the "couple of months a year" its the same here, near a lake in the midwest. The only issues I have with the bike were the play in the throttle and the friction zone being way too far out, but I easily adjusted them and now theyre perfect.
I agree with your review, i purchased this bike to use as my daily, I’ve been a cruiser guy for the last 12 yrs but need to give my bike a break and you just can’t beat the price. It’s different but I’ll test it out and see how well it holds up.
Work mate brought one after owning a 883 that I could beat off the line for first 40 before he'd catch me on my 2018 v-star 650 . He then brought 2 Hyosung 650's , neither which could keep up with me Finally he brought this bike and what a beast it is Easily keeps up with my Yamaha Stryker 1300 and blows away my wife's restricted 2023 Vulcan S 650 which I enjoy riding. I'd definitely get one as a daily to work and around town
Great review man I was kinda let down by the performance numbers you got, like you said the ho and weight just isn't worth the 1k savings. I was really waiting for your review to kinda help me to decide to pass or not, I'll still test ride it to see if I like it but I'll more then likely spend the extra for a z650 or something. And a side note I personally appreciate you being completely honest even when you sell these, major brownie points for that in my book. Keep up the fantastic work
Dude, you are damn funny! Incredibly honest review & you sell the bike!😂😂 It’s an old design. Period. It’s been around more than 10 years & never changed. The CLX range will replace it & I don’t see this naked class being updated anytime in the future. I’d be surprised if they do. I wonder if you’ll be getting the Adventure version of the CLX models? Great work!
Spot on.. my two gripes is weight and 2up... zero need to be 2upping on a 60hp bike, zero need for a 60hp bike to weigh over 450... Lose the back seat, drop 50lb, all numbers go up a bit and then 6500 dollars is a great buy...
Thanks for the review. I’m looking at options for my second bike more for commuting, city riding and CF Moto’s value can’t be ignored. But I will eye the 700 CLX and not bother looking at the 650 NK
Getting this as my first bike. It was missing one of the mirrors so I got some off of Amazon. This review is 100x better because he's using the same mirrors that I just bought 💀
In my opinion it is a good buy, depending on the rider, does well for the extra specs that the expensive bikes don't give you like ABS, Slipper clutch,Braided brake lines, pirelli GT tyres, full LED lighting,GPS navigation, connectivity to your mobile. App that saves your travel routes, and alerts you when your bike has been tampered with while youre away and saves information like your riding behaviour, Hard braking, how much lean angle, hard acceleration and top speed. Great package for a damn good price!
Hey Brams, I agree that for what you get the price is unbeatable! I try to emphasize that you could get by with one of these bikes if it's what was available and you wanted to save around $1K (possibly more). For me and my personal situation/likes/dislikes, I would still pass on it, but you definitely hit the nail on the head as far as what people should consider when looking at this bike! Thanks for your comment. :)
I picked one of these up about a month ago ,It's been a fun city bike so far. Not intimidating at all(I've ridden plenty of fast bikes) and for $4400 for a new 2022 it was hard to pass up. It would be nice if it was 40lbs lighter and had 10 more hp. Looks like ecu tunes can get you close to 70hp.
It's got a few sore areas where CF could improve, but it still hangs in with the rest of the competition fairly decent. The weight is absolutely the biggest killer on this bike for me. Thanks for sharing!
Can't wait for Cfmoto 450SR to be release outside of china, it's gonna be ninja 400 killer, 49HP and 39Nm weight just 169KG Hopefully it comes to USA, so far u guys get almost all lineup
I’m hoping they bring it over! It’s in a weird spot with the 300SS already being here. I don’t think they’d both be able to survive with the American audience since they’re so close in displacement. Thanks for the comment!
So just recently been looking at these bikes, and from looking around, that 1000 savings he keep mentioning in the video looks more like 2-3000 now.....
I just bought one here in Sweden. 2016 model, 560km on it, for 3500 USD. If I were to buy a similar bike in the same price range, I'd have to drop down to 2000-2005 models. With 30-60k km on them. And for a toy to just use in the summer, I think that's a pretty good buy.
I was really looking forward to this review after I had gone and test rode the 300nk, 650nk, and 700. It’s going to be my first bike and I loved your other reviews. I’m waiting for my gear to arrive before going to test ride them all again with more confidence, but I remember after riding them all I loved the 700 and 650. Have been torn between the two. The 700 definitely felt more refined, but I really wanted that hyper naked look more than a scrambler look. Ugh… would you even recommend just getting the 300 for me? 6’3” 220lbs. Also, you should do these reviews and talk about your height and weight and how the bike feels for you. I’ve read all your comments but should add that in. I also agree you don’t have more subscribers. Could you maybe do a shootout video of all the cf moto bikes? Maybe doing more of a comparison on which bike would be for who VS initial impressions.
Great idea for a future video! The 300NK would haul you around just fine at those dimensions, but you may feel a little cramped up on the bike. My vote for you would be the 700 CL-X Heritage just because it has a more upright position that would favor a taller/broader frame while still having the powerhouse engine. I had a feeling the CL-X was going to far outperform and handle the NK, and after my test ride I think it would be a safe play to phase the NK series out to bring in the CL-X series across the board. I’m sure that’s a few years out though as CFMOTO develops.
the 650 would be great for a commuter but it really does miss the mark on so many levels. Why not spend a few bucks more and get the CFMoto 700CLX Heritage. Way more power and just a better bike all the way around. Great review!
The 650NK has been completely removed from the US CFMOTO operations, and I think it's for the reasons you mentioned. It just didn't make sense alongside the 700 CL-X offerings from CF. Thanks for watching and ride safe!
It’s interesting that this bike appears to be more for markets like Australia that has massive restrictions for learner and new riders. The 650nk is actually the most powerful LAMS bike in Australia, all the others are heavily detuned etc. they start to make much more sense here. I do understand though why in USA and other non restricted areas it would not do so well
In the US you can get a motorcycle permit at age 16, which is just a written test, and then it’s free reign (aside from passenger/nighttime/radius restrictions) for whatever motorcycle you can afford. If you had the $ to do so, you could go buy a Harley Davidson Road Glide CVO Ultra Limited (968 lbs/439kg) with no prior experience or required courses/tests - just a little slip of paper that says you scored 80% or above. At least that’s how it is in my state. USA stay wildin 🇺🇸
@@JeremyBanham I was saying it solely for the fact it’s terrifying 😂 That’s dangerous as hell lmao. I wish the US was more focused on motorcycles as a primary means of travel. They’d take safety more serious about rider education, and make sure motorcyclists don’t become a statistic. In my opinion, a license-class/restricted bike system should be put in place.
The MT07 LAMS produces 75hp, and weighs the same as the HO. It’s more powerful and lighter than the cfmoto. The cfmoto doesn’t make sense unless you’re trying to save money. Just get an sv650 if finances are a concern
@@snooperty 75hp is the non-restricted version, not the LAMS output. LAMS makes around 38kw/52hp. (650NK makes 41kw/55hp) Brand new the MT-07LA is also $13,500 (just over) in Australia, the 650NK is $8,300 (just under)... that is just over $5K in savings! Then there is also looks to consider, which will absolutely come down to personal preference. I'm not saying the MT07 isn't the better bike, simply that the 650NK makes a huge amount of sense to a lot of people.
What if it’s 4k out the door cuse it’s marked down vs mt07 out the door for 7500+ 😂😂👀 if folks eye last year still new models you can find them with some PRETTY HEFTY DISCOUNTS (hints that’s what I’m doing) and would have PLENTY of mod money to make it look better and run better not to mention plenty of weight reduction. I seen someone comment a tail tidy and an exhaust system. You could also do several other things but I’m going to save my own personal ideas I haven’t seen in the comments for my own personal videos when I start with my 650nk soon! Not bad when you can find one slightly used or like a year backs sitting stock model then they are definitely worth it. Can’t expect a triumph street triple for grom cash either!
When pricing starts being insanely competitive like that, it makes the 650NK a way more attractive option. When I made this video, it was at the time of the pandemic when rebates and discounts went out the window. If 650NK are $4K OTD nowadays, this bike becomes a much stronger buy. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
Dropping weight with an exhaust and putting in a nice air filter will help with some power and weight discrepancies. Plus, I think the weight is the chinese company probably being more honest lol since most companies find ways to fib about their weight as much as possible
They fib about power output too. This engine is a direct clone of the old er6 engine which Kawasaki claimed more power than this. I am extremely dubious of this claim and riding an older Kawa 650 with this engine it feels identical in power to the cfmoto
Your review was completely opposite of other reviews. Other reviews claimed 70 horse power and the bike accelerated faster than the competition. Just saying.
Im debating this and the 700's I havent ridden much in the last 10 years, was always on dirt in the past. Took the msf course a few years back had a blast, was gonna pull the trigger on an fz-07 but the next day got injured at work (back fractures). Im a bigger boy, 250lb 6ft alot of these naked's i feel kinda cramped on. But the time has come, my health and my finances are in line and its time to buy. I dont like my local yam, dealer. And our ktm dealer just started selling CFM's.
I think the 700 is a better fit based on your description. Link to my video on the heritage at the bottom of this comment, and I did the sport version as well. If you’re worried about it being a while, leave it in Eco mode to start, and progress into sport mode. The best way to know for sure is to ride each one and decide. Hope this helps! Ride safe. 👍 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KOb3vpv6tRQ.html
@@Omni_Moto Wasnt expecting such a quick response. Thanks for your input. After looking at videos for both. I think ill run with the sport. I love the looks of the retro. But it sounds like the sport gets a bit more premium for that extra 500$. The weather is supposed to suck the next few days so no riding but ill definantly head over to the dealer monday and sit on them. I know the sport has the clip ons, but is the foot position any different between the sport and the regular 700?
@@matthewroig2262 that extra $500 gets you those brembo brakes - well worth it! The seating position is surprisingly comfortable on the sport model even though it has clip ons. Foot position I’d say is slightly further back, but a negligible amount between the 2. Thanks for watching!
This video is misleading, the price different is not 1k. The different in US is atleast 3k that's half of another japanese bike same class with less Techs
im surprised that cf moto is now available in the US. here in the Philippines cf moto is making noise in the market when it comes to big biikes. i my self owned a cf moto nk400 and i can tell that its worth it.
Since this didn’t sell* as well as it’s competitors you can pick one up around 6K OTD which is 2-2.5k cheaper than I’m seeing any 2022 models of its competitors (which there aren’t really any left of near me, only 2023 models where dealers won’t really budge on their fees since they know they’re gonna sell). So I’m coming in late on the 2022 model but saving closer to 2K than only around 1K
Hey, that's not a bad deal! This bike is tough to pit against the Japanese OEMs, especially when the CL-X series is being sold alongside it. Hopefully, CFMOTO learns from their success in the entry-level class with the 450SS and updates the 650NK to be a more enticing package with performance numbers that stack up better.
@@Omni_Moto It’s also my first bike so I’m fine with it lagging behind some other +600cc motorcycles in the style I really like, so maybe my opinion is a bit out there compared to others
One time I shipped a Harley V-Rod Muscle to New Zealand. Getting a bike to NJ will be pricey because of transport, but if you’re willing to pay those premiums of course I will sell to NJ!
Hey me here again, still enjoying the information on these videos. I believe you’ll make your sub goal soon as well. If I may ask, can you add a few memes to your future videos too?
For sure! I even noticed I didnt sprinkle in as many memes for this one, and I’ll try harder in future videos. Trust me, I love dank memes too. Thanks❤️
I subscribed to your channel since so far out of all the videos i have seen your one of the only ones that explains the bike out the best, thank you for that and did i see that wrong or was i not paying enough attention was the 650nk only 1 second give or take faster then the 300nk
Hey Jason, thank you so much for your kind comment! I do my best to be thorough and explain without having the videos drag on too long. I try to keep it under 10 minutes, but sometimes you just can't deliver enough information in such a short time frame. Anyway! The 650 was about 1 second quicker than the 300, which is to be expected as you work up the ladder. Bigger CC=more power=faster acceleration. Again though, the 650's weak point is its weight and lack of horsepower. In terms of a great intermediate middle-weight naked, the CL-X 700 far outdoes it in terms of performance/handling. The only benefit the 650 really gets is the TFT display in my opinion. Aside from that, that 700 stomps the 650. Thanks again! Have a great week, and thanks for subscribing. :)
@@Omni_Moto ty for the response appreciate it and the info im debating about getting the cl-x but the cruiser one not the sport model.. was thinking about the 300, but im over 6' tall i have a dual sport that still feels small for me.. thats why im thinking about the cl-x now
@@Gender1979 The CL-X is a great option because of the ride modes. Eco mode is super forgiving and very friendly. When you get comfortable and want to get a bit more grunt out of it, switch it to sport. I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of your pics, but the CL-X is #1 in my opinion.
This bike is a pig 🐷 It's been discontinued in the USA for model year 2024, and I'm pretty happy with CFMOTO's choice. The CLX 700 was the superior middle-weight in their line up.
If it came at a $2K discount, this bike would be incredible value for the price paid! However, I firmly believe this motorcycle needs to be discontinued, or revamped at the least.
@@Omni_Motohi im 17 and next summer i will get my a2 licence(im in Europe) but i am allready looking for bikes and recently i saw this bike for 5300 euros discounted from 6500 euros brand new 2023 version. Genuely asking if it is a good deal.(i will have to restrict it to 35kw)
@@Josip-ss5ul I feel that sounds like a solid deal and the dealership you are purchasing from may just be trying to get back to their invoice price while making few hundred euros to keep the lights on. Go for it. 👍
Hello sir. Thank you for the honest review of this motorcycle. Even if the flaws that you mentioned I still consider getting myself one due to its price and looks. I currently have a small displacement motorcycle with a kerb weight of 125 kg, do you think it would be too much for me the weight of the nk considering im coming from a 155 displacement?
Hey Lyon. Thanks for your comment. While the NK does have its flaws, that doesn't mean it wouldn't work for you. This video is purely opinion based, so I'd say you should at least look into it! I think coming from 125kg to 155kg is totally doable, and is a weight increase you can expect as you move up the ladder in displacement. Hope this helps!
@@Omni_Moto wow. I never expect that you will respond this fast. Thank you so much for your input and I wish you nothing but success with your channel. Cheers!
Have you ridden the 650 adventure? I’m considering buying it. My local dealer has a couple in stock selling for $5500. They have the 650 nk selling for $5400, but not sure I am a huge fan of it.
I believe firmly that the 300NK is for new riders who have no prior experience on two wheels. The 650NK can serve a similar purpose, but it’s much heavier and has much more power, which can lead to new riders hurting themselves. I’d say start on the 300NK, and build your confidence first. Buy pre-owned if you can find one in good condition at a fair price, learn the ropes, and move up to larger displacement once you’re confident enjoy to do so. Ride safe 👍

We don’t have it here in the states yet. Really curious about it though! Everyone seems to have pretty good things to say about it based on comments in my other videos. Glad you enjoyed the video!
ABS systems weigh about 2 pounds at most, and materials to increase the fuel tank size 1/2 a gallon would probably add 5 pounds at most. Even then, the CF is 30+ pounds heavier than the Kawi.
The 650 platform from CFMOTO is a bit outdated, given their fast growing. If you have heard of there were some 650GT in the US. Their 700 is kinda new and their 300 is what they upgrade from the 250 at home.
The 700 engine feels fantastic, and I think ideally it should phase out the NK. I think the 650 engine is fine on the Adventura because you don’t prioritize speed/acceleration/handling from that style of bike, but rather practicality.
Hi, I really liked your video. Just curious, I've heard that CFmoto bike of the same model that are being exported to USA are more powerful than the ones to Europe? Is that true? Also, just curious, is there a huge difference in power while riding it compared to MT-07 and Z650?
Hey! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching. EU has a lot of legislation in place for what they consider "beginner friendly" motorcycles, and I believe the 650 class falls under the L category. This means the bikes have to be restricted by the OEM to be compliant with EU laws, and IIRC the cutoff is 50HP for the L class. So, to answer your question, I think any middleweight bike in EU will be restricted to below 50HP for anyone who has L plates. The power compared to the Z650 and MT07 is pretty noticeable, and that's why ultimately I would pick up one of those before going for the 650 NK. CF really missed the mark with this bike, and the better version already exists with the CL-X 700 platform. You can watch my review on that here -------> ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3lYU8nJNKb4.html

In Australia it is the most powerful 650 you can ride on on your L and P plates. Also that extra weight makes it better on the highway. Also its fuel economy is poor compared to the other two you mentioned. This has been noted in videos in Australia and Asia. Its a heavier bike with and older Kawazaki copy motor. Poorer fuel economy. Enjoying you videos all the same👍🇦🇺
It will be nearly equally as fast, but it won’t be as quick/nimble/zippy if that makes sense. For casual riding, the CFMOTO will hang in no problem with the likes of SV650/MT07/Ninja 650/CBR650. It wouldn’t be noticeably slower until you start pushing it against a Japanese competitor. The CL-X 700 Sport would hold its own much better against Japanese 650cc motorcycles with nearly no noticeable difference in speed, handling, and braking performance.
I don’t think we’ll be getting it this year. Hopefully we do, but I’m not holding my breath. It does look amazing, and I hope we do get it eventually, but for the foreseeable future, I don’t think it’s going to make it over. Thanks for the comment!

This bike did NOT live up to the rest of the competitive models in this segment. If it was a bike from 2013, it might get away with being okay, but for a 2023 this bike needs to be better, or just nixed altogether in favor of the superior 700 CL-X.

@@martbau25 It's decent in terms of comfort. I personally felt the seat was pitched too far forward but it might feel better for you. Best of luck in your travels!
I was considering the nk650 as a first because it’s not intimidating and of course the price. I just saw your nk300 review and now I’m having doubts…What would you recommend?
650 can be a first, but it is a heavy bike and that’s not good for a beginner. The 300 saves you a pretty substantial amount financially and is super easy to handle because it is so lightweight. Sure it’s a little slower, but if you go back and watch my 0-60 test for both of them, the 300 is not that far off. If it’s your first motorcycling experience ever, I recommend the 300. If you have prior experience and are confident in your abilities as a rider, you can start on the 650. Hope this helps!
@Omni_Moto You think you could travel with this bike? Is the sit position upright enough. I was going to get a cb500x but there's a really good used deal for this bike where I live.
Well, given the MPG rating is around 45-60MPG, we'll just average that to ~53MPG. It's got a 4.5 gallon tank. Multiplying the two together, you get 236 miles/tank. Most guys stop with at least 30 miles left, so you can figure around 200 miles/tank (depending on how conservative you are with the throttle 😉) Thanks for the comment!
If I had to make a decision I would purchase the MT07. It is an all around better motorcycle. If you want to save as much money as possible though, buy the NK.
It's a video I have planned for the future. Currently have another one I have recorded and need to edit. Will try to get to the Adventura before the season is over.

@@blackcheetos6590 Few things to think about if you’re 18. You’ll probably need a decent co-signer, especially if you don’t have any open credit lines prior to trying to do a motorcycle loan. Might need money down depending on year/model of what you’re looking at, but a lot of our lenders will do the full amount with good credit history. This seller has absolutely no knowledge or the slightest skill in terms of motorcycles, at least regarding the 650 NK. Maybe it's because the bike is Chinese that you made this video oriented in this way, maybe not, but all the figures, the statistics, almost all the known and recognized testers praise the merits of the 650 NK against the Yamaha, KTM, Suzuki, Honda... They are either equal to or superior to their competitors, and this on a number of points. The conclusion is this. You are definitely a good bye!
I like CFMOTO, so your accusation of my review being biased because of its Chinese country of origin is way off base. Also, I sold CFMOTO for 2 years and the 650NK was BY FAR the least popular model, right next to the Adventura 650. Figures, statistics, and real-world testing show this bike is NOT on par with the current competition in the 650 market. To me, it sounds like you're speaking from emotion rather than from factual information. The MT-07 is 410lbs wet with 74 HP. The Z650 is 417lbs wet with 67 HP. The SV650 is 432lbs with 75 HP. The CB650R is 445lbs with 80 HP. Those are called facts. To say the bike is superior is a HUGE stretch, and at this point just wrong. Thanks for watching and giving my video a view! Goodbye. :) (P.S. Goodbye is 1 word, not 2) ❤
My er5 do the same on 0-60, and i think destroy it on 1/4 mile and max speed, 20 years ago, and also are cheap than this thing, i talking about new price, and i think also can do better fuel economy... I don't know if this is a good deal...
Lmao, I'm not even sure where cf-moto are made. I've only heard of them a couple of months ago. My first impression was, that's one ugly duckling. Looks like they bolted a tablet to the handlebars. Im still laughing. You work at the dealership I googled it and go to see several photos of the dealership. Made in China = no thank you
So CFMOTO is actually a really interesting Chinese company. They have a partnership with KTM to manufacture for them, but the contingency is they have to have KTM standards for quality control. This started back ~2012 when KTM wanted to explore out-sourcing for cost-savings and meeting production demand. KTM got the benefit of meeting their demand, and CFMOTO got the experience necessary to get their quality control levels up. Their engines/transmissions/chassis are all in-house designs, and they've been over in Europe for quite some time now with positive reviews. In short, CF is not your typical Chinese/Chonda ripping off already existing designs and being the loophole for US/Japanese patents. In my honest opinion, they are breaking the stigma that everything Chinese is automatically junk. I've sold several of them already and everyone seems to be really happy with them so far - and I haven't seen any of them come back from engine/transmission/electronics issues, so I'd say it's a great start for them in the USA. Time will tell us if they will survive, but based on how well their SXS have done in the US for the last few years, their on-road competitiveness is nothing to scoff at. Of course there are those who swear CF is part of a Chinese conspiracy to collect data and invade the USA - and it's just that: conspiracy. CFMOTO still has a long way to go before they are really adopted by US audiences as a serious competitor, but with their ability to deliver value along with affordability with no compromise on features, I firmly believe they are here to stay. I hope this clears up some of the questions you might have regarding the brand and its authenticity.
