In this video I take a day trip into the Nantahala National Forest in Southern North Carolina and find some of its treasures on my 2023 CFMOTO Ibex 800T.
Thanks for another enjoyable video John. You're exploring some beautiful places. I finally got my hands on my CFMoto 450 MT/Ibex today. I didn't get much ride time but I hope I will tomorrow. Thanks again Cheers Jim
Bringing back some memories. In laws used to have a place in Clayton, GA not to far south of Franklin on 441. The place where you ended the video has a restaurant called Cafe Rel. It looks very unassuming, but it is absolutely amazing. Hope you got a change to check it out!
A beautiful adventure & place there John! Stunning & done slowly but surely. Riding smart & safe because there is no hurry. Glad the CFMoto is still running well! I wonder if you’ll update to the latest model with traction control & more rider modes? Well done!
Good to hear from you sir... I doubt I will upgrade the CFMOTO. I have very little use for traction control ... I am interested to see how many miles I can get out of this one... thanks for watching... :)
I was told by a friend who worked for the Colorado DOT that when the US government funds local bridges the specs call for paved approaches . I have seen the same situation in Michigan; gravel roads that turn to pavement at bridges.
I did not realize North Carolina was that beautiful. You're a brave man driving that big of a motorcycle up and down those roads. I could not have done that even on my best day
Great video, Jon! Didn't know you were able to find such rough stuff while in NC. Looks like you found it! Looking forward to the next one, keep up the good work!
Hi John. Another fine trip on the moto. I see you are riding with the screen on the info section. What are monitoring? Mine likes to run about 200°. Yesterday the MCU failure came on again. I sure would like to know what causes it. The dealer has no idea. I do like using that screen to keep watch on tire pressure, just in case.
Good to hear from you sir, I had the ECU warning when my bike was new but CFMOTO released a firmware update to fix a fan controller issue. After I installed that update I have not had any warnings. Hope you figure yours out soon... thanks for watching... :)
Good to hear from you sir, I have 10032 miles on the Ibex right now. Only time will tell how well the Ibex will hold up but I have no reason to believe it won't hold up as well as any other. Thanks for watching ... keep safe out there... :)
Good to hear from you sir, the Ibex is much better to travel on than the V-Strom. It is more comfortable and is much more relaxed at highway speeds. The Ibex is also a better off road bike than the V-Strom as well. It has better suspension with more travel and a low center of gravity which make it easy to handle on loose or steep surfaces... The Ibex does not have the proven reliability the V-Strom has but time will tell on that and the Fuel mapping on the Ibex leaves a lot to be desired but all in all it is a more capable and comfortable bike... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)
@@ozarksbackroads5484 thank you sir for full detailed answer. Now there is also a new Suzuki 800DE which is more comparable to the Ibex and it is in the same price range. I had a test ride on both 650XT and 800DE and I can say that disadvantages that you listed about 650XT the new 800DE covers very well. There are two known things that bothers: heat on the side leg and a vibration about 5-6krpm (I don't remember well, exact spot). Keep your great job with your content!
