My viewers asked the following questions, which I'll answer in this video:
What is your opinion on the whole CGC scam going on, and do you think it will cause any damage to collectors confidence in the market? How do we as comic collectors prevent problems such as this from ruining the hobby? Allan, on your Sunday hottest golden age show, you mentioned that many rare golden age books have been coming to market which you might not see for sale in a decade. You said that you have personally taken advantage of this buyers market and have obtained comics you thought you'd never have the chance to buy. Can you show these comic books you are talking about? STAR WARS #1B Whitman .35 variant reprint. It does not say “REPRINT” on the cover, but inside. What is the actual value for this comic? Why is your FF1 restored? Does anyone know why the UPC was on the front cover ruining the cover art instead of the back. Did it really matter to the advertisers such that they would not put up with it covering up 2 square inches of space?
Comment on this video and I'll answer your question next week and give your channel a shout out.

I agree with your assessment concerning the CGC scandal. I have been telling other RU-vidrs this kind of criminal act is nothing new under the sun that big (and small) business come face with it. It all comes down to how the company handles the situation and it’s quick response to make the necessary adjustments to maintain the integrity of their business model. CGC will overcome and continue to be a major grading company.

The only issue with the CGC scandal is that reholdering the books by definition breaks the chain of possession and assumes the sender isn't lying. If they did this with other services they offer - for example if they took the word of the sender that any signature was legitimate - would that be acceptible? Of course not. I get they they make a lot of money for reholdering, but that doesn't seem to be an acceptible reason for ANY of the grading companies to create this breach in their system.

Of course it does weaken the trust we have in CGC, but ultimately CGC wasn't the one doing the scam. They were victims in this too and are doing the right things to fix it.

@@ComicCollectorGeek I agree. Except that if the actions they're taking won't actually prevent this - or a similar action - from happening, then it's just lip service. I get it, there was a jerk who exploited the system of reholdering. Will there be a new policy for reholdering, or will they not talk about it as the scandal recedes into the background? I am sure they will flag anyone reholdering more often than usual, but that only prevents the exploit from becoming more widespread, not removing the exploit completely. And this isn't just CGC's problem. Now that the exploit is a known factor, ALL grading companies have to block the attempt from working. I don't think a tamper-proof redesign would work, because nothing is tamper proof eventually. I don't know what a solution is either - other than regrading every reholder ... which I know no grading company wants to face.

Many thanks for answering my questions this week, I was really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that matter. What originally got you into good girl art covers? Are you a fan of die cut comic covers? As always thanks and always appreciate your insight.

In one of your unboxing videos you showed Thunderbolts good girl issues. Is there any other modern comic books series where some good girl covers are randomly thrown in.

Do you collect Cherry Poptart comics? And if you do can you show examples of the first run and later runs after the name change? How big is their print runs?

Hi Allan, some collectors may just continue buying comics in a raw state and allow CGC to investigate scams and come out with a case that can't be cracked or when a case is cracked, the plastic case will frost causing the scam to fail. Hopefully. I'm sure CGC will figure it out, it'll take time

??? Regarding the UPC "reason", It's an excuse, but a very poor one. I'm a little surprised Diamond had enough clout to enforce this. Also, am I incorrect in what I am hearing about Diamond's prominence as a distributor is slipping? Ok, I'll buy the bagged board issue.
