Congratulations Jim! That book has been plaguing me since we submitted it last year. With the right label and grade a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Looks wonderful in the CGC case and good luck with what ever you decide to do with the book! Think of me if any real low grade books come across your desk!

So this is your comicbook of the F.F. #5 1962? Wow just commented on Jitterbug's short video of this comicbook on his channel, crazy. Such an amazing work he does on his channel and on your comicbook. You can hardly notice the tear on the front cover trade dress as it looks imprinted rather than a tear line, what a clean look and beautiful work he's done. Really nice. Congratulations on your 3.5 grade bump, nice. Nice review.

I'd like to second Jim's recommendation of Jerry the Jitterbug's channel. I've been subscribed to him for a few months and he's a magician with the conservation.

I didn't realize I could get a DD #1 for under $2,000. The more you know....

Aside from grades, values and all that stuff, it's so nice to see you taking care to preserve the book. It would be a shame if any book gets ripped apart just for a label. Especially that now it looks (to my untrained eye) as good as new.

I sent in a lower grade book that had a tear on the cover that could easily result in a bigger tear if not careful. To prevent this I added a couple pieces of archival tape. Per CGC this is still acceptable in a blue label book. To my surprise when I got it back they gave it a restored label saying it had tear seals. I called them and then sent it back in as a mechanical error arguing these were not tear seals. I got back a universal label.

I have a DD#1 in a 1.0 as well. Bought it before it blew up.

Jim like the conservative label the best. I have a golden age Canadian captain America bit of tape on spine would it be conserved if tape removed.

I really do believe that the Conserved should be the default and not the PLOD. I believe the PLOD is abused by CGC, especially if everything done is disclosed and the intent was to conserve the book from further deterioration. Honestly, why in the hell do they have that category if they are going to not use it.

Congratulations on the amazing turnout (FF5 especially); I’m starting to consider looking at my PLOD book and requesting assistance. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Good afternoon that is awesome. What happened to your fantastic four 5. Anyway, what do you think about my Superman 1 5.0 moderate professional restoration, no trimming pieces, added color touch tear seals . I bought this about 20 years ago for $12,500.. so recently I spoke to three different people at CGC. They think I have a chance for restoration removal.. I have nothing to lose obviously right now the book is valued at $100,000 or more if I can get Restoration removed of course it will be worth much much more even if it comes back 1.8 2.0.. anyway what do you think I gave you all the footnotes on the book.

Funny that CGC always wins due to the fact that they get paid for grading every time, even when you have to break out a book due to their ineptitude and resubmit! --Well, at least they got it right the second time! It still amazes me how some beautiful presenting 1.0-2.0 comics grade the same as some crappy looking books because of their weird criteria. IMO a complete book shouldn't get less than 2.0 unless it's covered in stains or creased & faded practically beyond recognition. --But the more they undergrade, the better the chance of people doing CPR & making more money for CGC! --Inaccuracies are their friend! OK, my rant is done!
