Bobby is a senior concept artist working in the game industry. Upon being a full-time drawing instructor at the world-renowned College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio for four years, Bobby was the lead character concept artist for Subterranean Games’ War for The Overworld. Bobby is now a creature and character sketch artist for the television show Face off on the SyFy Channel.
His client list includes Mission Control Media (Face Off), Zojoi, 3D Total, Subterranean Games, Andromeda Entertainment Inc.

I mainly use 4B and Black Prisma pencil. What I do is lightly shade in a minimum of 3 different directions across one area. This gives a smooth look. I go outside of the lines on purpose so the value looks like it's fading into the paper. It gives a sense of atmosphere.

Wait can someone tell me if some of this amazing artwork is just I'm greyscale watercolour? Or is that actually pencil and if so, how does one go about achieving such a strong watercolour look?

To go about achieving this you can learn from Bobby himself! =D I'm actually a student on his online class at CGMA for Creature Design for Film and Games. I initially took the class because creatures and animals were a weak spot in my portfolio, but soon realized I loved it. Great teacher!
