The only tree I know of that has thorns is an Osage orange tree. Extremely hard wood but thorns will puncture lawn tires. if it doesn’t have its fruit balls around it then you will have to wait for leaves to identify it

Hey guys, great to see another video. There’s a very good chance that the tent caterpillars you are seeing are called processionary caterpillars. They are highly toxic to dogs! You will see the caterpillars on the ground all in a row following each other. They only nest in conifer trees as far as we understand.

Your lemon tree is adorable! This is a good time of year for citrus. My Red Texas Grapefruit is going great guns right now and the flowers smell divine. French estates often had a "Orangerie", where potted trees were kept (or moved) inside. Here in So. Cal. the trees overwinter fine. Love seeing Bingley loafing among the daisies. Now that's a Royal Chateau! Embossed leather wall coverings are rare and quite amazing. I did like your comment that old buildings are essentially the same underneath, with cracks, water damage, settling, etc. They all require maintenance, as nature is always fighting us, ready to return the land to it's original state. Ugh. Those caterpillars sound horrible. >:(
Leslie, once that tree with the thorns has blooms, take it to a good garden center to see if they can ID it. There are also several apps that ID plants now. The ground is raised because of the roots of the huge (now cut off) trunk, which is now coppicing out new trees. They aren't suckers (in the traditional sense of being from a grafted root). To get rid of it, the trunk could be ground out, or I believe you can drill deep holes and put salt and vinegar in them to kill it off. Double check me on that method after you ID the tree. As someone else pointed out, those are processionary caterpillars they will kill your pines if left unchecked. There are hormone traps, and other things you can use to put out there. I can't remember when you put what (one of them is a band you put around the trunk at come point to stop them), but timing is very important. So talk to a nurseryman about that. As also mentioned elsewhere, they are very toxic to dogs, yet all too often dogs can't seem to resist them. Yes, that vinca comes in white as well. That grassy thing is just sedge (a weed). I'm not sure what the thorny thing is, without leaves. The way it suckers reminds me of Locust trees, but their thorns are usually longer. Probably was something grafted the original trees, and the top died and it suckered from the rootstock. So nice to see Fontainebleau again, lived there for a couple of years, just a couple blocks away. You walked right by where I lived! The "F" is for François I (Francis the 1st) on the chateau. And yes the gold on the walls is real gold leaf. Isn't that tooled leather wall amazing! Hope you enjoyed it there.

Instead of promoting your study program as a way for young people to "learn more about the world and themselves", please include the studying of the Bible. I love your channel, and look forward to each new episode. You are doing great work on the chateau, AND great work for God.
We did think through that. I think our webpage is pretty clear about what we are, and we interview each student to make sure they know that 2 of the 4 classes are NT and OT survey. Happily every student we've had has fully engaged the reading. Now RU-vid.... it's a different thing, it's a means to an end for us. It's not really prospective students watching. But we still think we can have a positive impact on people, and present the ideas of Christianity. A lot of times Christians come across as entitled (at least in the U.S.), or sometimes bigoted, or just with an us/them view. We're talking about things that are important to us, but also trying to do it in a gracious manner. I hope that makes sense.
Totally agree with The Hildebrand’s- including religion in the title/promo might limit your audience. I find religion to be a very personal thing and would likely not watch.
Those white blotchy things in your trees are nests. We get them in Virginia in my pecan tree. I don’t know what you call them but they first come out like caterpillars and eat the leaves then I guess they get wings and fly away. I think you should get them out of the trees but my trees are so high I have never been able to get them out. The trees are still alive but very old at least 60 years old. The pecans are not great because of age of tree I think but squirrels still gather them so I leave it be!

I think that you are right about processionary caterpillars and they are dangerous for small animals and people. It would be a good idea to ask someone local about them and keep Bingly away from them.
Definitely processionary caterpillars, very dangerous, when threatened they fire their hairs at their foe and it causes damage to nervous systems and if not treated extremely quickly, by a vet, it causes death. Also will make humans quite sick. The nests are usually burnt before the caterpillars emerge from the nest. Sorry to cause worry.😢
Just to make sure you saw the comment below..... very important! Those are processionary catapillars in your trees they are VERY dangerous to pets. And I think can be bad for humans. Please be aware.
