Listened to this more than twenty times.....i get impressed every time even MORE......One of the most beautiful organs in the world, ánd a virtuoso player, ánd a great vidiographer.....Cannot get enough of listening to this....it gives me soooo much energy.....and happines!!!

OP provides a great example of how memorizing a work (even this difficult) gives one freedom to give the best performance possible. I wish I could take my own advice.

That is the best recording of the Tournemire/Duruflé Te Deum I've ever heard.....absolutely electrifying use of the sonorous acoustics to great affect. PS......I love your monogrammed French cuff shirts! Extremely stylish (speaking as a former Paris fashion editor who once lived around the corner from Ste Clotilde on Rue Saint Dominique). The late Karl Lagerfeld would have been greatly impressed with both your musical and fashion style.

Olivier Penin has certainly mastered a great interpretation of this masterpiece. What is interesting to consider, in my opinion, are these two aspects. The first achievement is of course Tournemire's improvisation, but Duruflé's registration cannot be underestimated. The second consideration is that Tournemire played his improvisation as a one-off piece in his unique tempo and we know several interpretations of what Duruflé has written down and they all share more or less the same tempo as a kind of a recreation of what Tournemire played. However, Penin re-interpreted it with more emphasis on musically interesting points and with more rubato. So, now we have the unique situation that Tournemire improvised a great piece of art, but that Penin interpreted it differently and convinced us that his interpretation is another piece of art. - Lot of words, do you understand what I mean?

A magnificent piece! The delay when playing this mobile console must be hard to deal with.
