Rabbi Akiva said that Bar Kochba was Mashiach. The Rebbe certainly did more to spread Tora. What would Rabbi Akiva say today? Altogether, you can only win with the Rebbe.
I have heard "the people who believe that the past Rebbe of Chabad is Moschiach is only a minority" yet in the headquarters of Chabad, through watching livestreams, and videos, it seems like the "antis" are a minority at 770. So when people say "this doesn't represent Chabad" I mean no disrespect, but I think in my head "no, it only represents the headquarters of Chabad" If I am wrong please let me know.
This is what is at the core of Chabad - 770 is its heart. The supposed 'antis' fall into the following categories either a) simply don't know the Rebbes teachings on this matter b) They are vaguely aware of the Rebbes teachings on this but choose not to believe it c) Are misinformed / what they have been taught is incorrect or incomplete or d) which is probably the most antis; they know and believe, they are just more concerned about the PR of chabad and don't want to be deemed 'crazy.' However the only real justification given as to why and when Chabad should hold back from sharing this belief, is if there's a risk it would turn someone away from judaism or chassidism.
