Thank you chad and dan for helping ken ,great seeing yous together..really looking beautiful ken...so glad you figured out how to make the rest of the install of ceiling more bearable for you...❤...the owners of this tiny home when done will be blessed with an amazing craftsmanship..by you..
Good morning, Ken! Great to see you all together again. Looks like the guys are well and doing fine. You're blessed to have them. Hello to Chad and Dan! Oh, Dan! I have some air conditioned shirts just like yours!😁 They're products made by hard work!😉 Thank you all for a fantastic video. Ken, you're one in a million. Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Hope you all have a great weekend! God bless.
Of course Dan doesn't need a ladder, hahaha. I used to work with a guy who was 6'8" tall and he could stand on the floor while we drywalled 8' ceilings. Very handy! Looking great, Ken.
Hello Dan, and Chad. The crew back at work! I would put in one 20 amp circuit outlet next to the door outside and one inside next to the distribution center. Did you say a outside light over the door? 🚪 all is looking great 👍
Seems like a LOT of lights for a small space. I wonder if those big hole saws would be easier to start with a pre drilled pilot hole. Ladder? Dan don't need no stinking ladder ;) Could use a new shirt though. Milled to be too tight or as you commented earlier, 2 coats of poly on both the grooves and tongues? Enjoying the build :D
This could be the start of a thriving business? "Tiny Dan's Tiny Homes". Chad and Dan should partner, I sure you could come up with a better name other than my suggestion?
I think it’s pretty clear here you miss the camaraderie of working with the boys. I felt the same when I got out of the Army. I know your body won’t let you go to work every day. You ever think about bringing on a apprentice to help you out?
Good morning 🙏 KEN. 🎉❤❤❤ It's great having the team together. It's chilly this morning 54° to 76°. Makes the bones ache more. GOD BLESS YOU. LOVE AND PRAYING WITH YOU ALL. HOWS TIMMY? SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
HEY,.. KEN Well It Was so cool Seeing you and The boys working Back together Again Looks Like you guys we're having fun even though It was Only a few hours Of working Together.. OK I Enjoyed watching Today's Video Thanks and keeping the Video's Coming
Good Friday afternoon Ken, I see you brought in reinforcements .... Chad & Dan the amazing duo, ie partners in crime🤣The tiny house is coming along swimmingly👍🏻Have a very nice weekend Ken and family + Kaiya🐶take care🔨🔨🐔🐓👣
You didn't Ken, but I'll say it... Dewalt 16 gauge trim nailer is the best. By far. For reliability, weight, consistency and reliability. No nitrogen spring needing to be recharged like the Milwaukee every couple of years the Dewalt will keep on firing and firing. Had the older model for 15+ years of flooring and building before replacing with the newer one which is lighter and just as consistent.
Many will like seeing the crew together. But I see that you bit off more than you could handle. You're supposed to be retired. Doing small projects is ok but a tiny house is far more complex. I hope you learned a good lesson from this.
@@kenskarpentry I am finding the same thing in retirement. When I worked full time, my day was much more organized. In retirement it's a series of smaller tasks that are scattered around to the point where I need to keep a list, so I don't forget stuff. I also have trouble finding tools that I know I have somewhere. I was asked to paint a 12 ft signpost at the church and spent 2 hours looking for sandpaper for my belt sander. After that I went looking for my extension pole for a paint roller. Haven't found that yet. Wound up doing the paint with a ladder. Still shaking my head on that pole. Will need it to paint some ceilings inside this winter.
Overall I think he's really enjoyed this project! He can take a break when he needs to and is very pleased with the project. Once completed, it's going to be a great feeling of accomplishment and we're hoping it's a blessing to the family purchasing it! When the family comes to visit, Ken always takes them down to see the tiny house project! I've really enjoyed seeing him build something he's never built before and he knows he can get Chad and Dan to lend a hand if need be. They really enjoy getting together!
Can you install a wet location rated panel on the outside instead? It'll save wall space and simplify modifying it for whatever electric shore power connection needed.
Hey can what I don't understand is why you're using all 14. Engage on the plugs because if they put up. Window unit in there. It's a heavy duty window unit. Do air conditioning? You're gonna have more power running on that than a 14 gauge can handle. I know because my house is all 14 gauge. And I didn't know that. And I put a window unit on it. It does not work believe me, so. You know, you need a 20 amp. Breaker in there somewhere in a designated area for a air conditioner. Blood, because what to engage will not carry a window unit for very long
Yay, Chad and Dan to help! I hope Timmy's prosthetic eye fitting went well! It does look a little crowded in there with all three of you at that end of the tiny house by the door. Yum, apple pie for break. It's nice to see you all together again and all three dimensional! Doing the ceiling but Dan doesn't have to be on a ladder! I think the big guns you brought in was Dan! Yay, you got the same reveal on the second board at the ridge! I bet your fix will work! Too bad the polyurethane thicknesses got in your way! I'm so glad that worked! This was fun to see Ken! It looks so wonderful! Thanks for this video!
I am concerned that the small flat ceiling may sag on the open end over time and recommend vertical support about 18" on both sides. Probably you already planned for this.
It would be great to add an electric generator outlet on the inside next to the small breaker box. I assume you will have one on the outside to connect to grid juice. A great addition would be to add a Solar Battery Generator such as an Eco Flow unit which should easily power that Tiny House without ever needing to connect to the grid power.
Dear Ken Karpentry, can you say what the insulation layers are on the floor, walls and ceiling? And if the small house can be left unheated and occasionally heated/cooled in the Northeast.
Rubbing shoulders with Chad and Dan probably made it feel like you were back at work, but in a good way. When I retired I was asked to come back in 3 times for 4-5 weeks at a time, but it was nice to be back, I missed the comaraderie. Was any thought or discussion given between you 3 about Chad or Dan taking your business over? You had a well established business, so I think it would of been a great opportunity for someone or both.
Ken, It's Best to use Wagos or Ideal In-Sure Wire connectors for the connections inside those small junction boxes on those recessed 6'' LED wafer lights ! They don't take up as much space as those wire nuts that you are using .
Chad, Dan and the Man ... back together. Felt like old times. 🙂 Even though some know the trades, it's ALWAYS appreciated when you explain things on your videos. Like the electrical, for example, like you did on this video. That's one of the things I admire about you, it's your logic and explanations with little details. You not only show us what you do, you explain why. Thanks for doing that.
