Every time I think to myself “I’ve watched Chad Smith playing in drumeo too many times already”, another video drops and I go “Nope, I cannot get enough of this”.
It’s nuts right? How much good shit they got out of Chad in only one day, we should start a petition for Chad and Dave to have permanent teaching positions @Drumeo by now Lol Pretty sure I’m not the only one learning a lot by just watching him play and enjoying every second of it, they are goldmines of knowledge and grooooove 😊
Chad is a living LEGEND! Here in Brazil a few weeks ago, he jammed with many different local musicians that where on stage, even played live with a RHCP cover band hahahah Dude is a beast, much respect
I love how much he doesn't give a shit (in a good way) and just improvises his own songs haahaga... Friggin legend, such an immediately identifiable sound and groove
Yeah love that too he's like ok this evening I play this that way but next concert we try something new 😂 But everything is just on point and sounds perfect 😂
the harmonies of the bass and guitar in the last section of the song influenced my music so much. it's so tastefully syncopated, funky and dark at the same time. one of my favourite ending to a song.
I love how every time he plays his own songs he changes a little something in it just whatever he’s feeling at the time. To me that’s what makes him one of the best of all time that and his awesome original style and groove
Watching Chad just never gets old. I love that he cracks himself up! His personality really comes through when he plays which is what makes him so fun to watch, in addition to his mad skills. Thanks!
Chad Smithgrooves as hell! My first CD (had a few LPs) as a youth had been RHCP - Bood Sugar Sex Magic. Since then I have had tremendous respect for him as a drummer! He has more than a fantastic technique but a fantastic feeling for music. And he has an enormous spectrum of music he can play. For me he is one of the very most impressive drummers of our time.
So inspiring! Just perfect performance no matter what, why because you could appreciate the way to play and even with a mistake you can see how improvise! 😂
I want to see what happens if the Drumeo people make him play Daft Punk's "Around The World". Perhaps they have already attempted this and we'll see it in a follow-up video?
The craziest thing about Chad and the reason he's the perfect fit for the Chili Peppers is that if anyone else played Around the World like this, it would seem busy or overplayed. Yet Chad just understands the song and Chili Peppers music so well that he makes all the wild fills and groove changes work and sound natural
starting to read the comments section I was thinking "let me guess, someone's gonna go with the UNDERRATED comment". And theeeeeeere you go. Dude, sorry, but Chad Smith is far from being underrated. Everyone knows the guy is killer and he's considered as one of the all time by people being serious about music. I mean, name one single drummer known by the masses and Mr. and Mrs. Everybody? Maybe Lars...? And still they can say his name because the guy is mostly known for being mocked. Phil? Well, he did that one iconic fill (no pun intended) and OK even my mom who doesn't know anything about music could answer correctly asking her who was Geneseis' drummer... What means "underrated" anyway and by whom? By people listening to cheap muzak with auto-tune all over the place?
@@WeyrdSonRecordsBeing "known" and being "known to be good" ain't the same thing. Lars is a great example of this. I do think Chad Smith is a bit underrated by the masses in the music scene, especially when so much respect is thrown to people like El Estepario Siberiano (don't get me wrong, that dude is BRILLIANT!). It's just that the genre Chad is in and the subtle nuances of his groove seems to get lost in the conversation. What makes Chad so great is that whatever he plays pretty much always sounds "correct". That is one of the things he is a master of, in my opinion.
Someone gifte me several old clasic cds and I've recently discovered this band one of the things that amazes me is the perfection and insic alm instruments are. I alwas onder how much was human and how mich it was sibtetized etc. Everything is perfectionin that album (Californication)😊 oh and made me pay special attention to the drums playing, which was something I had never done before. I'm so happy to watch the leyend playing it live!!!
This man - I can’t get enough and I’ve grown up with Vinnie Colliuta, Terry Bozzio, David Garbaldi, Danny Seriphine, Neal Pert, Mike Portnoy and Stewart Copland
I love this man ! Who else is feeling an album where Chad plays to a variety of songs. Am I the only who thinks these takes of RHCP songs are better than the originals ?!
