Little Wars TV played a wargame of the battle of Trenton at the Hessian barracks on the original battlefield. I concur, truly brings the battle more to life per se.
This video is monumentally fan-boy material for a geek like me,...............thank you to all involved for putting this together for yourselves and sharing it with your audience! Truly appreciated - great result, too - and the terrain and miniatures ............incredible!
As a Dutchman I visited this museum many times. I can highly recommend it. Even so the museums in Groesbeek (near Nijmegen) and Eindhoven. I am sorry I didn’t know about this demonstration by TFL. Looks amazing!
Thanks for this, I grew up in Heelsum just down the road from Oosterbeek and used to visit the museum quite frequently. Really cool to see the amazing re-creations on the tabletop.
Oh the possibilities of a multi-table Market Garden (all the bridges) or 'just' the Arnhem battle. Been thinking that would be good since your Malta game.
Well I asked for Arnhem in your campaign suggestions section and you gave it to me here. So thank you for this segment. This channel just gets more amazing every day and you guys are so much fun to watch. I am also opening up my mind to a lot of historical eras to potentially game in solely due to your outstanding efforts. So thank you and I'm going to stop praising you all before your egos explode!
3:09 Christy Beall from WSS spotted. She had a painting series on the WSS RU-vid channel that was great. Unfortunately the channel has been dead for 5 years but all of the videos are still there for viewing. That channel still has 15k subscribers. I don't understand why WSS wouldn't use that channel to upload videos to promote each magazine issue at least.
Christy's painting videos were top notch (and still are, years later!). We asked the WSS team why they stopped producing videos like that and, as you might expect, it takes a ton of time and energy to film and edit them to that standard. Just a question of resource allocation and management. Now all that time and energy goes into the magazine itself
Ahh, good to see the TooFatLardies. Been watching their videos on this and I’m enjoying just how well it’s come together with it. Hopefully not only will this bring a good remembrance to history, but also bring greater exposure to miniature wargaming - and especially historical wargaming and how it can be used to help us recreate and experience history
This battle has a special place in my heart as my parents lived for a while in a appartment overlooking Nijmegen and both the bridge and the place where the river crossing took place (they've now built another bridge on that spot). So if I visited I could literally see the whole battlefield. They've know moved across the river on a location that's basically in A Bridge Too Far.
Amazing work. I have a particular interest in British Airborne, and they are my 'go to' WW2 army when it comes to wargaming- but my prejudice aside this all looks remarkable :-)
I saw the painter from Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy RU-vid channel about to roll dice. I was wondering where she went. Great painting channel if you haven't seen it. Hasn't posted anything in 5 years. Did she start a different channel?
I love this channel and Too Fat Lardies -- please get a set of microphone lavaliers to help improve the audio quality. There is a set for $99 USD that plugs into a smart phone. You can text or email the audio files to your video editor. Improving the audio on your videos will help spread your reach.

wargame rules> do you not find its like looking for the "holy Grail" everyone is looking for better rules all the time, the ideal set > the perfect set>>> I suppose being a solo gamer I can alter rules to suit me >the rules I use for WW2 is a vastly expanded Charles Grant> Napoleonic's I have adapted the wonderful Fire and fury and for ACW period again Fire and fury>>> have not found the ideal post war wargame company rules, that I can use for Africa and Vietnam, not keen on FOW Vietnam though its a pretty book
