In this video I will demonstrate a step-by-step guide of how to replace a prime bulb (purge pump) on an Echo chainsaw. This video also shows how to remove, sharpen and replace the chain for a chainsaw and how to replace the air filter.
Almost all chainsaws have the same basic setup and are very easy to work on. If when replacing any component on a chainsaw it is a good idea to search for the model number and name of the manufacturer for the part you will be replacing. This way you will be sure to purchase the correct item. Normally it is best to order all parts online as some major suppliers may not carry the parts needed to work on your chainsaw.

When you tighten up a chain snug it up then pick the tip of your bar up then tighten the chain more if not when you cut and push down on the bar your chain will be too loose

DAVE HAVE 3 ECHO TOP HANDLES THAT ALL NEED NEW BLUBS. THIS HELPED A BUNCH!!!! TECHNICALITY -- AS IT STATES ON THE SAW, IT IS REALLY A "PURGE BLUB" NOT A PRIMER BLUB----IF YOU LOOK ON THE BLUB, THE TUBING FROM THE CARB TO THE BLUB GOES TO THE "IN" CONNECTOR, AND THE OTHER TUBING GOES TO THE TANK, NOT VICE VERSA-----ASK ME HOW I KNOW LOL

my primer bulb stays deflated or depressed my saw will crank and start up but only run a few seconds. Do you think the bulb is bad?

Reaper kinda sounds like a fuel line is clogged based on the prime bulb staying deflated, like it will push fuel but not pull it in. Could investagate the lines also check the spark plug is not cracked.

Dear Reaper, I had the exact same problem with my echo cs 3000. On the fuel pump side of the carb the tiny mesh screen was totally blocked with debris. It works great now after cleaning the screen. Good luck!!

cslix I wrote down the model number then typed it in with the words "prime bulb" on Ebay. It came right up. Under $10.00. I hope this helps.
