Chakras are energy centers, and one can connect them to sounds and colors. Remember, what I have done here is fundamentally an art piece, and there can be many different systems and views of chakras. It is basically about energy, and the video is for you to enjoy and immerse yourself in it. Basic idea behind the chakra pairs ( all the 21 possible combinations of two of the basic 7 chakras together) is that all parts are related to the whole. Each of the 7 chakras has a connection to each of the others, and the 21 combinations can be aligned with the tarot major arcana, the Fool is set aside as the entire potential, and is all 7.. This video is about crown and second or sex chakra. Crown is the spirit, color purples and violet, but also subtle full spectrum rainbows, the tone is B. Second, or Sex Chakara is D and the color is orange, but also pinks, and rose, the element is water.
The music is a group of Himalayan ( the metal kind) singing bowls, all selected by comparing them to a set of Pythagorean tuned tuning forks. the singing bowls give a full spectrum of sounds, with many overtones. Some of the bowls are just so slightly different than the next as to pitch, creating binaural beats. The images come from chakra paintings from my Chakra Mandala series, fractals I created with the color emphasis on purples and oranges, and a couple tarot images, the featured image being the Lady of the Star from the Brain Hart Tarot, a collaborative work which I painted, conceived by my husband Dirk Gillabel in the 1990's. I plan to do more of these, this is the first, there will be 21 in all.
The sounds of the singing bowls are more complex than the tuning forks alone. there are overtones and variations that create a rich and magical feeling. It all depends on how the bowl i struck, and the combinations of sounds. If there are two bowls that are slightly different they will interact in a powerful way.
