Wow, that's some time back. We went in December 2021 and it actually didn't have as many tourists even then. Glad to see it is still a cozy little getaway! 😀
I have just now visited Chakrata and believe me this is the best, short and crisp itinerary for Chakrata. Just one more thing, for waterfall there are two ways. One that involves trek and opens at 8.00 am and the other one is approx 500 mts ahead. You can directly take the car to the waterfall. The best part is waking up early for the waterfall and voila you'll have a personal waterfall. We went there around 6.00 and it was beautiful.

Hey, you can absolutely do that. However, do note that there can be a decent bit of rainfall and that can be risky, especially for a bike. If you do not mind that, then by all means! 🙌

Hi! Abhi exact update to nahi hai humare paas! But usually Baarish rehti hai Chakrata main iss time par. Aap visit to kar sakte hai but baarish ke liye ready hoke jaiye. Umbrellas vagera saath rakhiye to apko kamm dikkat aaye!
Yeass! We have personally visited Chakrata and shot all things. A few places like Vyas Shikhar were not accessible on our visit so we have used Google Maps & Wikimedia photos with proper credits/sources provided where applicable!
When we went there, we didn't get a chance to use the internet as much. You can try and confirm with the property owner before hand, if the wifi is good enough for a workation/staycation.
I am going on 9th June friday for the weekend. I have few queries in mind- 1. Is parking available in sadar bazar since I am going with my own car, Skoda Kushaq SUV 2. Little sceptical about the road patch between lokhandi snow point and budher rest house. Is the road wide enought for two cars pass through ???? 3. Tiger falls tak jaane ke liye bhi trek karna padta hai kya ???? Thanks in advance
Hi 1. Yes parking is available near Sadar Bazar, not inside the Bazar. Walking distance can fit SUVs not a problem. 2. Road from Lokhandi Snow point was little sketchy when we went. We went post monsoons in November, good chance that it may be in better condition now in Summers. Not wide enough for 2 cars to pass at all spots. There is a chai and food vendor at the entrance and also 1-2 properties there. Get down and ask the locals about the status once before venturing in. They will give the best update and advice. We did the same and it was helpful. 3. Yes Tiger falls parking se niche utarna padta hai for about 1-1.5 km on a paved block pathway. Very beautiful and very easy walk. Won’t even call a trek. Just a pleasant stroll with good views and greenery all around. Must do. Will recommend for all ages and fitness levels. No problems unless very old and have knee problems (cause there are a lot of stairs) Hope this help and you have a good trip! Hi Awadh, Technically it’s not allowed to freely camp anywhere on forest lands without permission, and Moila top is inside protected forest lands. So legally no. However there is no patrolling, or rangers posted and it’s relatively safe. So you can take your chances and try and camp there if you find the environment safe to. Things to keep in mind though - - There are many tourists visiting this place in peak seasons. So don’t disturb the public space by camping - There are monkeys at the top - If you light a campfire, please make sure to do it safely and do not leave it unattended. Make sure to properly extinguish it and cover it with soil. The forests can be prone to fires so do it with utmost caution and responsibility towards the environment. Be safe! Also back up option- if u dont want to camp at the top, we recommend camping near the Forest Rest House about 2km before the top. U can camp outside the huts It’s much safer and a beautiful spot to camp! Have a great trip! Make sure to subscribe and share the love 💛

That is always a risky proposition. Make sure to get an official's permission before hand. Or camp in a stay's property and pay them some nominal amount. That is always the best way to go about it.
Dehradun se Chakrata bus se pahunch jaye to uske baad vaha ke picnic point par jana ka sadhan kya hoga. Chakrata se hi taxi hire kar sakte h kya.vahi night bhi stay krana h
On our visit in Nov 2021, we didn’t spot any vendors offering bike rentals and neither did we find any online vendors. However some locals since have probably started offering scooters for rent in Chakrata, however we don’t have their contact info. You can ask the local property owners if you have booked a hotel. They may be able to help you best.

Yes, it should be fun. However, be vary of snow. If the weather has snowfall or you know that it has snowed recently then bike may not be the best option. 😅
Unfortnuately no, no scooter rents in Chakrata. Only tourist taxis available. You can rent from Dehradun (90 Kms away) Hope this helps, stay safe on scooters!
I am sitting in chatrata, n believe me there is nothing literally nothing, I’m someone who love to explore new destinations but chakrata has nothing to offer, barren mountain water scarecity.

Nothing special in this place.Just a media hype it is. Tourist agents want to make it a new destination. Otherwise all the same . The same teak wood trees, same curvey roads. You will find yourself alone in the trip to Chakrata. It's better to stay in mussoorie and enjoy the same climate and topography. Chakrata does not have any good restaurant to eat. Food quality available is poor. Ill managed tourist place. Chakrata is simply average. Waste of time.🥴😔
Hahahaha To each his own! For someone like us, living in the city, very far away from the mountains, the calm, serene, secluded atmosphere may be something what they are craving! We genuinely enjoyed the two days. We spent here surrounded by lush greenery, very few tourists and the empty landscapes all for ourselves. We found the entire experience really peaceful and the locals that we interacted with were really warm, welcoming and they treated us with utmost respect and didn’t tried to loot us as tourists or didn’t make us try to treat us as tourists or as outsiders but as guests and we really like that about our experience that we had. I am sure everyone has a different kind of experience but because of all this we genuinely like Chakrata and would recommend that you can consider it for your next holiday if you like to visit offbeat places which are not too much on the tourist map. We ate food at our property, Stunning hills, which was really delicious home-cooked Meals and it was actually one of the best chicken curries I ever had anywhere and we also tried momos and some other snacks at Chandanas Momos in Sadar Bazaar, which was also really good, no compromises. I understand that you might have had a different experience, but for someone like me who was looking for the exact type of vibe and place where I can enjoy nature more by myself, I really had a good time here. 💛
@@XploreTheEarth It's a so interesting to know about how people were shifted from DAM site to new tehri. Though lot of money was given to these people they lost their culutre. Many people did not get money though some got extra money. It was that whoever was powerful and had links got good deal otherwise others did not get good money. Most important thing is how because of dam life around this area is affected. I am sharing this on the basis of people who wtinessed this happening there. Another important thing is that Uttarakhand govt has failed to develop this as tourist spot. Charges are very high for boating and stay. Even local shopkeepers are charging very high at boating area. 80 ruppes for nimbu paani. To know about history of dam and other aspects of dam its worth visit but just for fun and enjoyment its waste😊
