@Future Corpse I’ve only done a handful of 1/4 mile pulls on country roads on my 2021 GSXR1000R and I’ve done 60-100mph in 2.83 and 60-130 in 6.2 according to the Dragy. That’s with a full exhaust and ecu flash, but they are crazy fast for sure. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uVlOE4bx7Pc.html
I just have an ecu tune with intake and exhaust and I got my 2013 rt up to 170 and slowed down when I saw my rear louvers fly off😂 luckily no one was around for miles out in the country at 2 am
Holy shit. Squeezing that extra 10 mph in my 05 Impala SS from 125 -135 takes a bit. This mopar hits 135 with ease then climbs quickly to 165 with ease.....but I suppose triple the HP will do that. Very cool. Dig the sound of that exhaust
Yeah those supercharged 3.8s aren't bad, but unfortunately they inly really benefit in 1st gear from the extra low end torque. I have an 06 3.9L V6 which is 242hp 242lb-ft vs your 240hp and 285lb-ft. You would get me 0-60 since yours should be about 6 seconds whereas mine is only 7 seconds, but at the end of the 1/4 mile, the 3.9L nearly catches up. Add another 200ft or so and the 3.9L gets ahead. I also own a 15 challenger R/T with the 8spd auto. While yes its way quicker, it's actually not even double your power. The 5.7L is rated 372hp and 400lb-ft. And my best 0-60 is 5.0 seconds in mine with the trash tires that come on it. A supercharged 3.8 was definitely a powerful engine for its time tho.
I have an 03 vic with a tune, newer improved air intake, and exhaust. The stock limiter brickwalled the car at 135, I got my tune, went and did a test run. My new top speed was and still is 137😂 fuck me its only rated at 239hp originally, 250 with the newer intake, so I'm not surprised. I was just a little optimistic since they actually have a really good drag coefficient
I’ve got a tuner and have the ability to raise the shifting points to 6200 rpm, or 6400. I have it set at 6200 right now and really would like to go to 6400. But I don’t know if this’ll really damage the engine since it only goes to 7000.
Depends on what all you have done to the engine. If bone stock other then tune you can raise limit to 6400 but does nothing for motor other then raise the rpm limit and if your racing will actually slow you down. If all bolt on are added to motor including 90mm tb you max hp rpm will move from 5800 to 6100. But again shifting past your peak hp still slows you down
I raised my 14 ram to 6000. If I went in manual mode and went past that, it was slightly slower than letting it upshift at 6000. I had a vararam ram-air intake, moes 87mm ported and polished throttle body, and hemifever 93 tune on it.
@@HashMaster1776 Where does it "not" mean anything? For cams? Stage 1 is a completely different cam than a stage 2, from compcams. But you're fine if you don't know this...
Yup factory gauges are really in the challengers, have a nice classic feel. The only problem is, like mine, they’re prone to having random spots that don’t light up. For example mine doesn’t light up between the 0-20 mark and in the center.
It was only a rt with a 5.7 hemi can you Imagine with the bigger hemi could do in the scat packs like dodge has made and built an amazing engine but sadly it’s coming to an end
I’ve seen videos on here of SRT8s and scats hitting their top speed (180mph on the speedometer) and still climbing. And a few videos of hellcats hitting 200. All in Mexico of course 😎
@@YungEagle3k all American cars are pretty close quality wise. Just depends on the one you buy. So it's hilarious when people argue over corvettes, mustangs, challengers or whatever. They are more similar than they are not. All depends on the year and the trim you choose.
Had a foxed bodied saleen mustang I tickled a little. Took it to 145 one time. Felt the wind get under it and lift the front end a hair. Thanked the Lord for looking out for the fool I was and have never had the craving for that speed again. Another 3 maybe 4 more miles an hour and I would have went airborne and been a dead man. There was plenty of pedal left to accomplish that. Thank you Lord!
@Ls4_SSleeper it lessons the load of the alternative and ac at higher rpm. When you are pushing higher rpm your alternator and ac compressor don't like that and the underdrive makes their rpm less than the engines all be it not by a whole lot but does free up a few ponies on top end. When I did mine it freed up 15 hp at from 4500 to red line. Not much but every one counts. Lol
Quite impressive that in about 60+ years of automotive technology, no one has come up with a better combustion chamber on a V-8 motor than a Chrysler Hemi. Used in all the dragstrip cars, regardless of the brand. GO MOPAR!
True that. However the gen 2 and 3 "HEMI" are technically not true hemisphereical like the 60 Hemi was. Also have you ever heard of the coats spherical valve heads made back in the late 80s early 90s. It was a unique design but never picked up.
Does it need a tune to get to 165 Starting with 375hp from the factory? A '90s Camaro does 155 with just 275hp, I'd expect 165 from a stock R/T. Sounds great anyhow of course.
@@nthgth You absolutely are, a 2000lbs car with 50hp is much faster in acceleration and top speed than a 4000lbs 50hp car. For every mph it has to climb it’s fighting inertia and mass along with wind resistance and tire deformation.
@@GST623- well.. yes, but at 150+ mph, only a tiny bit. You're MOSTLY fighting air and rolling resistance. And the two cars I compared are within a few hundred lbs of each other in the mid to high 3000s range, so the power to weight ratio difference is definitely irrelevant at those speeds. Also - power to weight affects acceleration rate only. Top speed implies it's regardless of acceleration time to get there anyway. Your 2000lb car would have the same top speed as the 4000lb car, as long as the aero, gearing, and rolling resistance are the same. It would just get to that speed quicker.
165 m/h..!!💪 Btw what is the BEST tune for my STOCK challenger R/T plus black_package (2020) ?! Look, i don't ask about the most powerful tune.. no, i'm asking about the BEST one☝️
Well best would be a dyno. But hemifever would be best besides a dyno. On a 2020 though with out any mods at all there isn't much room for improvement considering the 1100 your going to spend on a tune. Your have to have a new computer for your car the factory is locked and can't tune. You also loose your warranty changing the pcm out. Until you do full exhaust and larger throttle body you don't need to worry about a tune.
@@tonymouawad5207 the mopor air intake is probably the best on to use. But again you still don't need a tune for that. Read through some of the other questions here I do my best to answer them so you will find several answers along the way. It all depends on what you want to do in the end. The factory pcm will adjust slightly to little things like you filter and 93 octane gas. Don't use any thing less for fuel. Oh never never let your engine just sit and idle for long periods or start up and let warm up. Those conditions are being found to be the leading cause for the hemi tick and lifter failure.
@@tonymouawad5207 also you can not install a 6.2 air intake on your 5.7. You are missing a small piece called the supercharger and most people who mod a hellcat ditch the dodge air intake pipe and box for a better flowing one
There's something fun about pushing a car closer to it's absolute limits. Going 140 in my '97 CL 2.2, probably had even less horsepower but it would scoot
@@novoice9286 haha that would take a while to get there. I had one as a rental years ago. 2017 model. They're peppy but lack the balls on the top end. My hybrids get to 120 in under 30 seconds 😂😂
The 6.4s are hit and miss iv been able to out run some at lower speed and have also be completely shut down as well. What I have noticed is I can Rev faster and get down the road faster (usually) but the 392 gets me on top end every time.
She sounds amazing bro. This my first car so it’ll take me some time to get mine like that , I’m in South Texas so there’s a bunch of Chevy’s and Mustangs that wanna do 20 rolls
Ok this is really impressive. I started commenting before even watching since I knew it was "just an rt." You did some work on this. Nice!! That's fast. Sweet ride dude 😎
Definitely quick and tuned/modded. I've reced some rt's and took em in my previous car(genesis). Some really good runs nonetheless, sucks I couldn't record them.
Oh yeah. The genesis wins versus an rt. Even the 2012+ V6 model. I had the 5.0 and would just toy around with G37s, scats, mustang gts... How're you liking the Veloster n? I assume that's your daily since it's your profile picture. Hyundai makes some fun cars now
When you were going 138, and the RPMs were in the six thousands, I was like, this has gotta be where it tops out, its gotta be in 6th already, then you shifted 😩
90mm tb. Long tube headers 2.5 inch exhaust. X pipe. Single chamber flowsmasters. No cats or resonators. Hemifever tune. M6 trans. track pack package 3.92 rear gear limited slip.mopar cols air intake.
@@sideways8881 do me a favor run that again and also run while using a GPS for speed readout. Did you up the gears to 392’s and calibrate the speedo to the gears?
@@jjs777fzr I'm not to sure what you mean on up the gears . The get track has 2 options auto and manual 3.06 I think for autos and 3.92 for track packs with tremec 6060 transmission. If I went to a airplane gear 3.06 hell I would do 100 in 1st gear. I no longer have the challenger anymore got forced moved up north and road condition are to bad for it here. I never ran a GPS at those speed but it was spot on when using driving directions that stated my speed. It could have been of but I could say either way if it was or not. My car was professional tuned not a can tune with the mods I had. Last tune I had done car made 384 wheel on a mustang 2 dyno at 740 feet elevation. And it said motor was 437hp. The stock 5.7 is detuned badly. 375 hp on the 2012 and the trucks had 390 with same motor but different intake and tune. My entire goal with that car was to out run my friends 2010 6.1 m6 and to much money later I finally did beat that car.
The gen 2 hemi 5.7 was a turd in the 2 ton challenger. It was hardly any better then the 6 cylinder. When the gen 3 5.7 came out in 2011 it was so much better.
