Another driveway cleaning job carried out recently.
An old oil stain to deal with, a few cement stains, and general grime.
Got caught out by the rain on this one, which was a little frustrating, but it's all part and parcel of being an exterior cleaner in the UK 🙂
All came good in the end, and the customer was extremely pleased with the end result.

Until I started watching power washing videos I had never heard of driveway pavers. To me those are bricks and only used for paths or sidewalks. I learn so much from You Tube.

@@alexisaacs4752 No, but you have to pre-soak it with water, which is done when you pressure wash. And post soak it too. If you don't do that, then yes, it will harm the grass.

Why wouldnt you start in the higher level and work your way towards the drainage section? Not trying to be critical really asking why.

I normally would do that, but on this job there was no drainage on the lower sections, so I start where I know it's going to pool, so I can get that area clean before it becomes challenging to see or clean through the sitting water.

Probably cheaper to replace the blocks than remove the oil stain.

Not really. Also, new blocks would be unweathered and much brighter, and would stand out more than the stain itself. That would certainly apply in this case.

Are you using soap and sh in the surface cleaner ? do you batch mix this ? or is it like injected downstream? trying to figure out how you keep a pure water supply for rincing , but are able to add soap to the line. thanks

I love your videos, Nick, they are very relaxing to watch. Reading your caps-lock subtitles is a bit uneasy, have you considered writing them "normally" instead of "LIKE THIS"? Small-case subtitles would be a better fit for the soothing effect of your videos. But keep the exclamation mark!

Thank you Emmanuel. It's a fair and constructive comment that I will take on board. Unfortunately, using iMovie to edit i'm quite limited to what I can use, most of the fonts I like only seem to come in capitals. I have a video uploading at the moment that has the same subtitles as usual, but on my next video, I will use a lower case font, as I actually agree with you, the subtitles will be less "in your face" and be more relaxing to read. Thank you for your kind words and great feedback, it's much appreciated. 🙂.

If the grass and plants are heavily rinsed/soaked pre and post treatment, the bleach causes no harm at all.

Hi Clyde, thanks very much. I don't like the feel of work gloves on my hands. It's definitely a good idea to wear them, but personally I really dislike using them. My hands are like leather now, so don't really feel the effects this job has on them.

If that's polymer joint sand it's required to be wet down once the excess has been removed?? I even wet down non polymer sand....that's what settles it and locks it in the joint. You did a nice job.

It's not polymer jointing sand, it's kiln dried sand, we simply replace what was removed from the cleaning process. Thanks.

Great job Nick well done. Intresting 2 applications with oil remover and got the light oil stain out. I had ago last year with that product on old bad oil stains/ blockpaving, followed the directions to the letter and only reduced them by 50% . Wot luck have u had with bad stains Without using hot water? Cheers M

Cheers Matthew, much appreciated. I've always found Resiblock to be very good and had a lot of succes using it, but then i've heard other people haven't had much luck with it. With old, black oil stains, i've found the more you scrub and dwell before pressure washing, the better the result (sometimes going over it 3-4 times) It also seems to work better using a FSC rather than a turbo. I also manage customers expectations by telling them I can't guarantee full removal, but I can definitely improve it, and it's possible it will be fully removed.

Some good advice there Nick cheers crazy why resiblock dont put this on the tin would give them repeat custom as its expensive and not likely to use again if getting poor results. I will do as you say and see how I go. Great work as ever.cheers M
