Challenging enforcement of the EDSA Bus Lane 

It's possible the passengers who are the ones encouraging the riders to use the bus lane and will gladly shoulder the fines if they are in a rush....???

Buses are one of the many reasons. I'll give you an example, go to MRT GMA station northbound and look at those buses that will be going to fairview or sapang palay, they manage to congest the traffic flow because they're blocking 2-3 lanes and making it their terminal. Bus carousel is just organized that's why it's a lot faster.

Before the EDSA busway, buses were the major cause of heavy traffic and insanity. They stopped wherever they wished. They had these barkers and were honking endlessly. Chaotic. Glad that they’re gone.

I don't see the logic why the company should be penalized. MMDA/LTO should have a policy that when a public transportation such as MC taxi, Grab, Taxi is apprehended on Bus Way, driver should also be reported to their respective companies for internal DA. Perhaps mandate the company to furnish LTO a copy of the DA once decision has been made.

i agree, penalized the company so that they're forced to require their mc taxis to not use the busway. zero tolerance dapat, you get a busway ticket you're fired. also require mc taxis to pay a deposit that they forfeit if they're caught in the busway. dami kasing mc taxi violator ng busway.

Walang nagbabayad ng 5k kaya hindi nauubos ang mga pasaway. Tiket lang ang ibinibigay kaya habang panahon ang mga pasaway na yan. Ang ticket walang gastos. Ang dapat na batas kumpiskahin ang motor at ang kotse at ipatubos sa halagang 10k plus impound fees, I'm willing to bet in one month wala ng pasaway.😅😅😅

Bus lanes have failed in most countries. They mostly stay empty whereas other traffic is crammed in a lane.

Sumisiksik sa extreme left or extreme right lanes then haharang sa mga lumiliko at dumideretso na takaw sa aksidente; dumidikit sa mga 4 wheels o lalo pasa mga trucks na umaandar sa tamang linya bago sila pa galit pag nasagian, at maraming motorcycles ang NAGKA-COUNTERFLOW SA KALYE at sila pa galit pag nakasalubong ng vehicle na nasa TAMANG LANE AT DIRECTION. also the problem is not solving. everyday they are kamote driver are violating because it is passable and easy to go in the bus lane. why not create a way that no motorist will go in the buslane. this is the best way I think so that no motorist will commit violation. they can put barrier all the way not include intersection. and more signage and caution.

Nowhere else on earth do we have cities defining traffic enforcement and acting like courts as well as being the recipient of the fines. Make it a single authority with responsibility for enforcing the traffic laws and I will 100% agree with 'no contact apprehension" make it 8 different websites I have to check to see if I have fines with and 8 different courts I have to answer to to pay a fine or argue a fine and nobody with common sense would ever agree with it. In a single day i was booked for 4 tickets for driving my car during coding... its a hybrid and thus legal to drive every day of the week. I had to go to 4 different city halls, pay for parking at 4 different city halls, waste 16 hours of my life simply to have each and every single ticket thrown out. it is not totally nonsense. it was systematically abused by LGUs thats is why it was suspended by Supereme Court. What the supreme court should have done is categorically suspended LGU NCAP and allowed MMDA to continue

Not anti poor, it’s pro law abiding citizen! The law should be applicable to ALL citizens regardless of social status. If you start to apply differing standards you create a two tier systems which is open to abuse and the public lose faith in it.

Kahit gawin mong 50k yan walang mababawas na violators. Bakit ko nasabi? May narinig ka ba o nakita na may nagbayad na ng 5k? Tiket lang po na may halagang 5k na multa ang binibigay sa violators at yun ay babayaran pa nila pagkatapos na ng giyera natin sa China. At yun ay malamang maging libre na kapag binomba na tayo ng China dahil mauubos na ang lahi natin.😅😅😅

Many reasons such as late for work, stressed, need to go to toilet, thinking they have the luck of enforcement evasion, and or no idea about the rules.

@@Youneedsomething.. My thoughts were mixed with your comment, but the last one about having no clue about the rules? Now that's just sad. There are a million signs on the ground, road, an overhead gantries that clearly state the inner most lane is for buses only.

They installed a bunch of new footbridges, but Ortigas wasn't included. My guess would be because of the upcoming SM busway concourse program, which will include elevators, escelators etc. Megamall is part of that project.
