Hi keith, I can’t believe how I’ve never heard about your releases. I’ve struggled with Scotty clips for decades and today I learned about your ingenious release. Brother you HAVE TO get an online presence. Believe me I’m gonna tell all my west coastal Canadian fishing friends.
I've been running these downriggers for over a year now. I can honestly say that I will never be going back to a pinch style release. Saying that I've been pleased with the design and ease of use is an understatment. I have both styles and use them almost exclusively for Kokanee fishing. However, with that said, I've also caught 20lb King and Coho salmon! Money well spent!!!
I use this down rigger release for trout. It is by far the best release I have used. The magnetic release is great. I have more hook-ups than any other release style.
Used this for trout around 16" to 20" Had rod tension pretty strong and lure tension very light. Trout could not trigger release. The way you show to rig it, the fish pulls against the vertical line. I am going to try two loops one for rod and one for lure, attaching lure first, this way fish is pulling only against release and not vertical rod tension.
U JACK A S S !!!The FISH PULLS HORIZONTALLY !!! WTF U TALKIN ABOUT ??? ROD TENSION TIGHT ON VERTICAL TIGHT SO U CAN LOAD ROD UP. , and FISH TENSION LOW !!! WHAT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ???
