The feel of having spent so much time building a prized team, and survuving the elite 4 who were frequently 5-15 lvs higher than me, just to face Blue and after weathering his very best, finally shut his mouth. Thank you so much.
My friend got my into the Pokemon TCG again for the first time since the 90's, so I built a deck based on my playthroughs through the only pokemon games I ever played, which was blue and yellow. Since blue was the first videogame I ever bought for the first game system I ever bought (the purple clear gameboy color) I always felt like I got the alternate universe of Red's story where his name was Blue, and this battle song at the end gave me chills. I never saw it as my rivals theme, it only plays that one last fight. But those beginning chords being so reminiscent of all the battles you've had in the wild, that's the evolution and final culmination of all those fights, that's the main characters true theme in my eyes when he steps in to take his throne from his rival who was kind enough to keep it warm for a few minutes. Give me someone to relate to on how good it felt to reach the top. Then reds story made him possibly the most hardcore trainer to ever exist. As a result, I built a deck for all Kanto region pokemon in the OG 151 lineup. I can't tell you how much salt Beedrill and Cloyster get. My hitmonchan with the choice belt knocks out any electrics that get in the way, and there are plenty of switches and heals to go around. I'm thinking of hunting down the 3 legendary bird GX card to go with it. Calling it my "get outta Kanto" deck, and since we all chose themes, this song is what I play with that deck. Also got the surprise MewVmax deck that I'll slap a B&W low health cover to, but I only play that against toxic players who are trying to do things like tailor or spam another meta. If they pull out MewVMax on the Kanto deck, beedrill's having a hayday with persistent sting.
Gary: "Alright Pidgeot, just like we practiced. Hover over my arm, but touch it with your claws so it looks like I'm supporting you." Pidgeot: "Why are we doing this again?" Gary: "Come on, it makes me look cool."
After your national park cover I just had to hear more. Was not disappointed! This is the best cover of this battle I've heard to date! Please don't stop making these!!!!
After Cynthia, Blue was the strongest champion. Red was a bitch that just left after winning the title. I do like the way it is now. Instead of fighting the "champion" over and over, you're defending your title. Makes a lot more sense.
@Luis I curb stomped Blue's 2nd team. Cynthia is still a harder fight because of her pressure pokemon. For a while there, that no weakness crap on the Spiritomb is what made her so obnoxious. Even now that the damn thing has a weakness, it's still a chore to get through just 1 of them if you're even a little unprepared.
@@Ujiyo After Cynthia? I think the story must have changed once all the new games came out. Back in 1995 the developers actually meant what they made when Blue said the words "I am the strongest trainer in the world.". And the first champion.
Yellow Version Was My Favorite i remember beating Gary aka Blue with my FAV 6 lol Pikachu, Gangar, Kabutops, Dragonite, Hitmochan, Charizard ........ Love Them
