Live solo performance in the south of Sweden october 1975. Piano a bit muffled due to lack of piano mic and closed lid, apart from that pretty good sound. Amateur mono recording on a Revox A77 tape recorder.

I was having a dinner couple of hours ago with a great promoter and a DJ who was a close friend to the Champ, you need to see the expressions on his face when he heard this stuff..Jona I keep mentioning these rare recording everytime I meet a Champ's fan..this gentleman's eyes got tearful when he heard this. Thank you Jonasjar for this gold.

Living in New Orleans I first heard Champion Jack Dupree at Jazz Fest. I've been trying to play/teach myself piano ever since... I was surprised to discover that he was at the Colored Waifs' home at the same time as Louis Armstrong... I have driven by where it was several times (it's long gone) and visited many of the graves of famous New Orleans jazz and blues musicians. I have been to the Jazz Museum archives and asked anything they have on Dupree... but they

@Kdees Thanks for commenting and your appreciation, I'm glad to be able to supply material that means something to somebody. Champ has a special place in my heart too you know ever since our very brief encounter that unexpected night. My plans are to revamp these vids with a better digitization of the sound, and also to submit the remainder of the show, although the best pieces are probably already taken.

Jonas - var i Sverige? South?

Wonder if Dupree ever crossed paths with James Booker while they were in Europe.

Come to 2019 Jazzfest this year, there will be a massive tribute to Booker on one of the days and several nights. 50th Anniversary - time flies.
