I cannot help myself. I listen to this song several times day and night. I haven't kept count but I know it is a lot. I don't care. This song praises my FATHER IN HEAVEN AND HE IS SO GOOD TO ME I HAVE TO PRAISE HIM. ❤❤❤
I heard the Cathedrals in concert the Friday evening after my father's funeral. Glenn prayed with me that evening and asked God to comfort my grief. He was truly an anointed man of God.
This is One of the most POWERFUL songs sung in all of Southern Gospel History! And Gerald Wolf is one of the most POWERFUL male vocals to ever sing this song.
My father played this when his mother passed away. Years later I had to play it for both of my parents when they passed away. I will cherish this song for a lifetime. Rest in Peace mom and dad
I really miss the Cathedrals. George Younce especially. I was raised by grand-parents, and in the good ole days, the Gospel groups used to stay with host families when they came to the perform. Mr. Younce would stay with us, and was a hero to a little 7 year old boy who is in awe of his great voice. First time we met I bout jumped out of my skin. I just got up and heard this "Good morning young fella" in his low voice. I have great memories of my ole fishing buddy. So long my Buddy I love ya!
I am gravely ill and don’t know if I’ll pull through or not. If I don’t have much time, I am surely looking forward to fishing with you and George in Heaven ❤️
Gerald Wolfe owns this song. There are other singers but I feel this is his song. A powerful voice with such conviction and clarity. Praise G-d for this beautiful song.
this is the most Powerful song ever will never be forgotten,i listen to this on repeat spotify lately ,the words is just so touching the chorus is so true he is higher the highest ,greater than the great no one will ever take his crown away, hes more mighty than the mightiest he reigns from above HE'S THE ALL TIME UNDISPUTED,UNDEFEATED CHAMPION OF LOVE❕❕
I Absolutely Love, JESUS, and this Wonderful Song about HIM !!❤ the choir at Our Church sang it and I'm hoping That They will again When we get a Song Director whose Wife can read music(that Will be Soon !!). 🙏🏻🦋💒
wow wow wow wow. I had this video back in 1996, and today I get chills up and down watching the greatest quartet ever sing one of the best songs ever written.
Beautiful! The Cathedrals were the BEST Quartet ever to exist! I prefer the Scott Fowler rendition found on Gaither VEVO, but that is because I am a big time L5 fan and love seeing Roger singing with the Cathedrals. Amazing performance, and a FABULOUS voice! Just clinging to my bias because of my love for L5 and EHSSQ ;)
I was there when they first sang it. I have heard them sing this song soo many times. I can never get over the power behind Gerald Wolf's voice, or the meaning behind this song.
Such a powerful and beautiful song I love it and it's so true he reigns from above no one can ever take his crown away Thank you Lord Jesus I Praise you Lord 🙌🙌🙏🙏👏👏I love you Lord Jesus 💖💕💖💕 I can't help but raise my hands and praise the Lord to this song
one of my favorite songs every . i really miss the cathedrals and some of the other groups. i have to admit i also enjoy some of the groups that branched from the cathedrals, such as legacy five, greater vision , ernie hass and signature sounds, you know the list can keep going.
This was the first version of this song that I'd heard before years ago and I'm amazed to find it on here exactly as I remember it, amazing song. Gives me chills
Seeing the cathedrals years ago along with gaithers I remembered this particular song as it stood heads above all other songs I heard that night as it was played and sang as the last song.i never attended another concert since, in part because I knew in my heart that ,that song could never be duplicated. I memorized that song in my heart after only hearing it once (every word ) and I know angels had to be praising God when Gerald and the Cathedrals performed this rendition . This , in my opinion, was Heralds crowning performance...a crown i believe he will cast at Jesus feet one day. What a great utilization of a great gift !
Aqui em Manaus no estado do Amazonas - Brasil, também amamos o cathedrals e eles são uma inspiração para a nossa luta diária rumo a eternidade! Que Deus abencoes a todos!
I think I heard angels in heaven cheering when Gerald Wolfe hit that final note to Champion of love what a crowning performance I know I've said it before and it Bears repeating the rendition of champion of love this one in particular has Eternal significance personally I don't believe any human being that has ever lived or is Alive now or who will ever be alive can sing that particular song with the fervor that Gerald Wolfe sang it
Honestly, as long as they have Gerald Wolfe singing the lead in this song, I'm always awe-struck to hear it! - But I guess if I had to pick, I prefer him singing it with Greater Vision. :) There are few songs that so clearly and powerfully proclaim Jesus power than this one!
Gerald Wolfe was the first one to sing and record this song with the Cathedrals. He sings it with the same fervor, power and intensity now as he did back in his Cathedral days when Lari Goss first directed he and the Cats singing it. While the years have passed, George and Glen are not here to sing their parts and Gerald is a little older, I still love to hear Gerald Wolfe sing this song and with all due respect to Scott Fowler who does a great job with it, for me, Gerald Wolfe is the one I want to hear sing "Champion of Love"!!!! Just saying!
I'm almost sick of listening to this song but I listen to it sometimes everyday at least once I've listened to it 4 times today I don't know if I've ever listened to it call me a crybaby I don't know if I've ever really listened to it what I didn't cry just a little bit
Nobody beats Gerald Wolfe on this song. I saw him sing it a 5 or 6 years ago in a church with Greater Vision and he still sounded as good or better then when he sang it with the Cathedrals.
One of my all time favorite songs. I have always wondered why the one guy always dresses in a different color suit. What is the story,, it's like he is part of the group but not really,,, anyone know?
The Cathedrals never were big in the matching suit part of the business in the later years. This video is the reunion in 94 and Mark was with Gold City at the time.
A few of the Cathedrals wore gray suits that matched or almost matched suits, but their former members wore other colors like blue and red. When you see them all on stage, you can tell that, but in each song, there may be only one person who looks out of uniform. Look close and you can tell the shade of gray is actually different between Glen Payne and George Younce.
@mmwilliams1984 Check out Greater Vision if you haven't already. He does a wonderful job with them too. But nothing really compares to some good old Cathedrals!
Only one of the guys are the same is in the lineup that's on this video, and that's George Younce. I'd have to disagree with you. You can't be Gerald Wolfe on this song. This is HIS song.
@lakearea there is no better rendition of this song gerald wolfe made this song as popular as it is today and he is still just as powerful as he always has been with it
Em que ano foi feita esta filmagem? Não estão presentes o Ernie e nem o Scott que fizeram parte dos últimos 10 anos do quarteto. Mas a versão realmente é linda!
