fuck man memories. This song got me through some bad and good times. it gives me chills listening to it. I'm in the army now and it makes me miss being home listening to this song in my car talking to my friends about life, being in high school and coping with the shit to go with it. damn. life is good man.
I think Chance & Earl Sweatshirt would make a good "Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde" mixtape. Or like "uppers & downers", they both have similar flows just different ends of spectrum.
Crosscriminal T Lol by who? You? You sound like a pure hater man. Calm down. That's not a fact, that's your opinion. If you think your opinions are facts then you are a Kanye level narcissist. I'm not saying you should like OF, but remember the difference between opinions and facts. If them being whack was a fact to everyone then how the fuck are they still be selling records? Someone must like them. I'm one of the people who likes them…well, Earl's dope and has some nice lyrics and flow to me. I honestly like his lyrics better than chance. Although I love chance his lyrics tend to be completely random "I should rhyme rhyme with ramon noodles". Anyhow the world doesn't revolve around your thoughts I'm afraid. OF being whack is your opinion, not a fact.
Selling mixtape a for money is illegal. You can't use somebody else's beat in your song and call it yours. That's why it's a mixtape and not an album. I understand what you're saying though.
+Eric Tarjanyi nah man. Chance got suspended for 10 days in his senior year of high school for possession of weed. He's said it in many interviews. During those 10 days, he was able to have the time to start his first mixtape, #10day. Acid rap is a desperate project he did about 2 years later. Brain cells is part of the 10 day mixtape, not the acid rap one.
+Eric Tarjanyi if he got caught with acid in high school he probably would get a lot more than a ten day suspension. He was j on acid when he wrote a lot of songs for acid rap
1:09: "But I'ma let the bull pass like matadors, versus a minotaur, verse is a metaphor," Lyricism does NOT get much better than that. Chance is truly a master of his art and has huge things in store for him.
@@thisguy4743 The first part, "But I'ma let the bull pass like matador" is a simile, but the real focus of the line is how the matador isn't fighting a bull, he's really fighting a Minotaur therefore making it a metaphor.
@@KevinMcLean in the myth of the Minotaur he is depicted as being trapped by King Minos in a maze, maybe he was going as deep as to say that he will let the bull leave the maze and move on forgiving his enemies as they are no longer a threat, almost as if he is King Minos from the myth who is son of Zeus (God of Gods) which would fit his Child of god rhetoric. Or maybe not.
I remember when not too many people listened to Chance and I was the only one fucking with him in Freshman since 10 days and acid rap drop... now after the Kanye effect even the dudes who i was trying to get them sharp to chance (they hated him cause of " His voice" ) back then are listening to him now ctfu.
maximillian schauer when someone thinks something isn't cool until someone else they actually like influences then to like something I just call them mindless sheep following
don't get me wrong, I'm glad Chance got alot of publicity; it's just the way he got it is a little annoying. also I hope people like Saba or Darin Falana get some more attention, their music is heavily slept on.
I find it extremely interesting that a rapper has took ahold of a psychedelic style that mostly only 60's rock Stars could make look good. I love anything psychedelic and I appreciate your work chance the rapper!
This is the best kind of rap. The kind of rap that keeps giving even after you've listened to it so many times. A line that makes sense after sailing over my head usually. Chance you classy bastard! Love from New Zealand.
This video is so real it hurts man, Keep up this shit, so inspiring for new generations to come, and you put out a really good message if people can read it right. I never really listened to rap too often but you are the one guy I can always come back to. So many references it feels like a lot of the songs talk right to me about my friends and my life. I mean that is generally the goal for most music, but your wordplay is so out there, the fact it still falls in line is phenomenal. You're ability to switch from tight to sloppy loose wordplay in a wave of flow is really incredible, you add the perfect sense of seriousness and playfulness to life, while using it to broaden other peoples understandings of the times they felt they wasted or wish they could go back to but life has them moving on.
I think he's better than Logic actually. I hate to admit it since Logic is one of my favorite rappers but his lyricism isn't on par with Chance's. His flow is excellent but lyrics are mediocre
Patrick The Triangle Tbh I don't like chance but I'll try to be as neutral as possible. In my OPINION, Logic is better because he doesn't use Nigga as a filler for his lyrics, he only talks positive but knows how to make deep music (ex. Just a Man, Dear God) Just a preference though. All based on opinion
I used to feel sad when listening. Coming here now years later, I'm glad I haven't offed myself I might be crazy and you might be my friend... life goes on up down up down round and round . One more round.
I just got the chills, I remember listening to this in 2013, and now its 2020, we are in a pandemic, 2016 feels like it was yesterday but it was 4 years ago...
I know some people cant take his accent (or whatever you choose to call it) with how he sounds like he's an idiot, but if you listen to the lyrics, its clear that he's a superb poet. The fantastic beats he chooses and the sweet direction of his videos are just icing.
Jacob Salas I agree, but it definitely bothers some people. In their defense, I used to hate Chris Cornell's voice, though Ill admit I recently came around after hearing Burden in my Hand for the first time in a lone time.
I don't know why, but listening to this somehow triggered a memory from when I was in 2nd grade and a girl said she would pay me $20 to chase her and her friends around the playground. I guess that's what mattered as kids.
Thankyou Chance, fakking always love your music dawg Seriously Thankyou And you know how deep this is going already I can choke on the air i'm tasting from this current
chance is smokin with the others, the cops come and they start tripping heavy while he keeps his cool while hella stoned. he acts like a "psychiatrist" (wearing a white lab coat) while he "diagnoses" everyone whos tripping towards the end of the video with the notepad. it works in direct contradiction with the song as he is still very sharp while he's high, and the only people who seem to have burnt their brain cells out were the others
This brings back serious memories, I burned the 10 Day mixtape on a CD so I could play it in my car back in high school when it came out. Remember hearing my best friend at the time blasting Prom Night before prom night. Just a lot of memories wholesome moments in my life associated with early Chance :)
Ayyyy!!!! This is Classic Chance!!! It's great to see your growth and development!!! This is real healing music!!! Thank you for this!!!🙌🙌🙌✊✊✊🙏🙏🙏💚💚💚💙💙💙
"...versus a minotaur, verse is a metaphor" I've gotten stuck on those two lines for so long. Chance is so good, why does all his new shit sound generic????
