•• Demipanda •• that’s not at ALL true lmao do your research. Bi= two or more genders, Pan = all genders. They can mean the same but can also be different depending on the person! It’s most important how the person feels comfortable identifying :)
@Nevaeh Nevaeh I feels like pan is the new bi, previously people thought that were only two genders, and now we know that are a lot more, so I can't see someone that falls in love with girls and boys, and not with the in between
He was totally bi, there was literally an episode where Phoebe sings about men liking men, and bisexuals kidding themselves, and there’s this scene were a kid looks at him like *he knows*
@@simrenbajaj6000 Also because it was the 90s and even Phoebe, who also had major bisexual vibes, sang a song about how bisexuals are "just kidding themselves"
Chandler: No, no, no, no, no, no. No, we’re not together. We’re not a couple. Definitely not a couple. Joey: You seem pretty insulted by that. What am I not good enough for you? Chandler: We’re not going to have this conversation again
Azazel uhm, that sounds a little homophobic. first thing first, bisexual ISN’T the same thing as gay. second, they are fictional characters, and i can think of them and their sexuality everything the fuck i want, alright?
Well one theory actually says that Chandler always helped Joey so selflessly because he had some kind of feelings for him that he was unable to put a label on. It's a cute theory and honestly Chanoey would have made a great couple I mean, no offense to monica but Chandler and Joey are literal soulmates.
okay I support bi chandler bing (because otherwise why would I be here), but I like that they're friends who do so much for each other. I feel like in media nowadays, the closest relationships are always romantic, and we need some of that close friend rep, you know?
Originally the character of chandler was written to be gay but the producers ended up scrapping that idea and decide to pay homage to it by having chandler make gay jokes throughout the series which is why he comes off as gay :)
Sabrina Hombach No it’s because his character was sassy on script and people in the 90s considered any sassy guy to be gay. Perry was never called to play a gay character just a sassy, Woody Allen kind of character. Chandler was simply a metrosexual before it became mainstream. That’s the joke, typically a 90s joke that every man that isn’t manly must be gay. That’s all there is to it , Chandler wasn’t bi or gay
Summer H yes, they didn’t decide anything because he wasn’t that important but it’s very clear he wasn’t gay from the first episode and Perry couldn’t be more straight. They played the joke because it was the 90s, that was the humor. And this is the show where bisexuals don’t exist as well. Chandler was very much like an awkward, less suave Joey and had the same interactions with women (as in thirsty). his relationships speak for himself, they’re all very heteronormative. But people love projecting on a 20 years old show who couldn’t give a crap about queer coding or anything.
idk i’ve always felt like media is only to be interpreted the way that individual people see it. of course creator’s intentions should always be noted, but if you see a character as bi and another person sees the character as straight, both are valid interpretations because that’s media doing its job. i hate the shipping/sexuality wars.
maddie jo but the text of the show is very clear? you’re mostly projecting stereotypes as coding while clearly this isn’t a progressive show in any way trying to be subtle most people here want chandler to be bi to ship him with joey (which is weird given how their relationship is that of brothers). that’s it mostly. chandler was an insecure guy living in an era where masculinity could only be one way. once he gets with monica that insecurity goes away with time and there’s really no doubt left, he’s simply a sensitive kind of guy who’s witty and likes to care of himself while cracking jokes. it’s way more accepted now while in the 90s it was perceived as ‘gay’
I personally think all of them have bi-curious moments. Joey running his hand up Chandler's leg, Phoebe kissing Rachael, Phoebe WANTING TO ASK THAT GIRL OUT...I actually don't know about the other two.
@@tacobell7679 well, Monica did get upset with Phoebe when she said Rachel would be a better girlfriend... I think that's just her jealous and competitive nature tho
Ross has a lot of pent up everything anyone remember that episode where he goes ballistic over his sandwich MYYYY SANDWIIICHHH???? its a good thing he has friends cuz theres an alternate universe where he's a lonely psychopath woman killer
Firstly he had enough character development being able to be comfortable around women and actually growing his broken wounds from being so fucked over as a child. Part of Pheobe's joke is you know nothing about her. I don't think she's straight, bi or gay she just goes with the flow. Of course she is predominantly straight but it's quite obvious she isn't afraid to experience. Going back to Chandler had he be gay it probably would've come off as a much more fucked, scarring experience. His fluent manlyhood is an homage to this.
chandler and phoebe the two incredibly bi characters in friends also known as the two characters who my mom was (and did for one of them) name me, a bi after she kn e w
Here on October 28th after his demise, I have watched this video numerous times since it was uploaded and every time I enjoyed it. Yet now the video seems hollow like something is missing.
It really hurts that they only let Chandler date girls. And the faces he makes every time he realises he's said something a bit gay... Okay now I'm crying.
And this is why chandler was my absolute favorite. I just hate that 'ew I can't say about a guy that he's cute'. I love how honest Chandler is. Also his cynical side is too funny.
Ok hear me out In a modern day friends this us how it would be: Joey and Rachel would be bisexual, Chandler would be gay or bisexual, Phoebe would be pansexual or bisexual, Monica would be lesbian, and Ross would be the only straight one. Joey and Chandler would obviously be a couple. Monica and Rachel would also be a couple.😂
I agree with all of that except I feel like they would make Rachel be a closeted lesbian kind of coming to terms with her sexuality, only being in relationships with men because she had to. You know, like at the beginning she would be like “I just can’t marry Barry” and then she’d come to live with Monica and realize that she had feelings for her all along and stuff. That’s just what I think. Maybe Monica would also be lesbian, I’ve always thought she would be bi but I do see it actually now that I think about it.
no no no. chandler was meant to be gay that's true but it didn't happen because the network was against it and the creators of the show were told to "write the jokes gay and play it straight"
Also, don't forget when Ross comes with tight pants and chandler was like this 👁👁 Or ..... Rachel: oh pheebs... Phoebe: dont feel to sorry for me, at least my boyfriend isn't gay Monica: Phoebe...that's not Phoebe: *don't even get me started on yours*
how could you forget "if you guys had to date one of the other guys, who would you pick?" joey and ross: "we are NOT answering that-" chandler: "joey.... i mean no way i'm not answering that.."
Just found out that this was published on my birthday and I'm glad that it was Chandler is frickin AWSOME he was/is my favorite character in friends and I used to have a HUGE crush on him lol
if i had to guess who chandler is based solely on this video i’d say a professor who’s happily married but not afraid to come home and tell his spouse “oh my god i saw the CUTEST person today“
