Edit** The preamp in the REDD is a .47 not a v72. Although they share some similarities there are also differences so sorry!

Do you mean the test was recorded with REDD's intergated preamp?

Hello Christian. Thank you for the video 😊 You have a wonderful voice by the way. I’ve ordered today the Redd mic. You are saying the the suspension isn’t great. Do you have any suggestions for a quality replacement ? Thank you 😊

Hello Christian, thank you so much for the video. What shock mount would you advise for the Redd ? Thanks

Best mic investment I ever made. Switched my main from a Bottle to this. No regrets at all. Also my favourite singer swears by this so that's a bonus

Hi Christian, thank you for taking the time to post this, great video. Do you remember on the mic what gain setting you used? (Sorry if I missed that in your video), Btw, getting some interesting results going into a Neve Pre (BAE clone), love the mic. Cheers from Montreal.

Thanks! I think it was around 24-32dbs. Yeah I tried it with my Pacifica too with the gain set on 0 on the Chandler. Smoothed out the mids a tiny bit so I could definitely see it working great with an external pre too :)

A very nice cover of the song - well done! I would've enjoyed hearing the vocal dry/raw, as well, however, so as to actually hear the unvarnished traits of the mic.

I'm looking for a high quality microphone to record Rap vocals, I've been eyeing the Luten Eden a lot, but you mentioned that the redd can be an excellent mic to replace a G800 or a 251 which are the top in this type of sound, but I looked at the price and it costs 3000 euros more than the Eden, do you have any feedback on this type of microphone I'm looking for? Thanks in advance.

Hi Christian, thanks for doing these. I still can't download the files, could you please upload them to a different source. How do you compare this mic to the Wunder cm7 S?

Sounds great good brother what did you decide on the gap 8000 or this amazing mic? I’m trying to make that decision right now I’m leaning toward the The Redd tbh.
@Christian_svedin
@Christian_svedin 2 года назад
Hey! I was only demoing it. But I took the time and listened to pretty much all of my mic tests and the Chandler and the GAP came out on top. I think I favour the Chandler. It has a nice lowmid bloom which ofc a Sony clone doesn't. Both are great though!

Thanks for the test. It sounds great. It sounds very modern and finished, it really does have some of those 800g qualities but a little extra vibe in the midrange that's got a touch of Neumann in it. I still like your voice better on your 47 but that's just personal taste and esthetics. I find the 47 adds more weight and authority to your voice and maybe something a bit more mysterious. I could really see these two being very complimentary for a studio.
@Christian_svedin
@Christian_svedin 3 года назад
Thanks! Exactly! It's definitely the opposite to a u47 so if anyone's looking for a bright mic as s compliment I think the Redd is the best new mic I've tried. Thanks for listening 💪✌️✌️

@@Christian_svedinYou're welcome! I really enjoy your vids. I'm wondering if the Redd is really sensitive to mic preamp choice because some demos I've heard of it were pretty harsh.
@Christian_svedin
@Christian_svedin 3 года назад
@@bricechandler5772 yeah I didn't think much of the Redd before I tried it. But at least on me it was not harsh. In the YT vid i used the internal pre but I also tried with my Pacifica and it smoothend out the mic a bit. But you can always sing a tiny bit under the capsule on bright mics if it's an issue. To me it's weather or not sibilance are baked in or if it pops out like mad. On the Upton it popped and was a real issue.
@bricechandler5772
@bricechandler5772 3 года назад
@@Christian_svedin Yeah The Redd sounds balanced here I find, not a color I think I'd need but definitely the sound of voices these days.I don't know if you've heard it but the Manley Gold has a similar vibe I feel, very open, modern but not harsh. I can see the Pacifica working nicely, keeping the modern open sound but adding a little weight. If you ever get an opportunity to hear a Coil preamp, try it! I could see a Coil really working amazingle well with the Redd. I'm kicking myself for not buying one before, it's been such a revelation. I can't stop talking about it
@Christian_svedin
@Christian_svedin 3 года назад
@@bricechandler5772 nice! Never tried a Manley though. Yeah very modern for sure but hey like you say that is what ppl like these days. It's nice to have opposites and this is truly the opposite to an u47 haha! I think I could demo pretty much any high-end pre but I really don't want to dive more into the pre djungle haha. I might try the Fearn though and are ofc interested in the legendary V76 just because!

how would you say it compares to an Upton 251? love my Upton but was always back and forth on going for the REDD
@Christian_svedin
@Christian_svedin 3 года назад
Hey! The Upton that I tried was a disappointment now in retrospect. I do think the redd is better. Very nice lowmids and open sounding as 251. Try one if you have the chance :)

@@Christian_svedin Just curious, What was disappointing about the Upton 251? I have a pair of them and been really enjoying using them to record different things including vocals. However I have not tried any vintage mics to compare it too. I just know I do love that of all the mics I have, they give me the more detail out of whatever I record with them. Cheers
@Christian_svedin
@Christian_svedin 3 года назад
@@senordelaflor5054 it was very sibilant. On me it was ok but not great on a friend it completely fell apart. The lowmids where very uneven on how it reacted to different parts of the vocal range. And I had to use dynamic Eq to solve it. I know it gets allot of love but compared to my vintage mics or say the Redd it was not good.
