I love to see how bias works on people. I would love if someone could do a test like this but provide wrong images/sound relation to fool people. I bet 100% of people would still "love" and prefer the DW Fearn even the sound being actually from a Weight Tank. 😂
Nice singing vox, im not a fan of either of your mics here, i have 2 of each and mine sound way different, yours sound wooly and hooded to me, could be the Neve pre's?... also never eq when shooting out mics, low pass only imo
I bought this inner tube a few months ago and absolutely love it. The mic is much hotter and I have to turn down the preamp. It's as if a cloth is pulled off the highs and the bottom is so present. Put it next to a royer 122v and a Gefell UM900 and the InnerTube 67 was hands down the best for most scenarios. It really is a very big difference. Happy to have done it.
Brother - Neve and your vocal - just WOW... heart touching sound ... specially when you said Hallah-lu-yea (sound like Allah Hu) Mighty Creator...! MaSha Allah.. .GOD give you a awesome vocal chord with powerful lungs.
Jesus, nobody seems to know how to compress a vocal anymore. On Every demo of this unit, the stack is way to fast and HPF no engaged. Vocals sound cloudy as hell like that....
Appreciate you doing this comparison! Great vocals, but PLEASE process them the same!!! Shouldn't have different processing anytime you're doing a shootout. Thanks!
Are you starting with the Trim or output all the way up because that's how they are made to run at optimal sound. I just found this out . I was setting it wrong with my output set to 50 % . It sounds a 100 times better when used with the output knob all the way up then turn the red gain up slowly till u find your levels and it sounds tremendous. I wasn't impressed myself before either.
For anyone who owns outboard gear. When something joins your collection of gear which is so impressive you know you will never sell it. Telefunken V76 is one of those.
@@DanAdlingtonOnline I have a few good preamps. All the tube preamps I've used and owned boosts the midrange and for most mics I've found that is to much. It did sound wonderful and very hi-fi though but I felt my AT-3 and Neve 1272 was enough
@ChristianSvedin I am curious of your thoughts on the DW Fearn vs the V76 pre you have? Is the Fearn more hi-fi then the V76? Which do you prefer if had to choose between those overall?
I actually find the difference is quite noticeable. In blind tests I often find it harder to tell two completely different mikes apart, like a KSM32 and a Rode NT1 for example
The U67 wins this comparsion by far. Emotionally comes much more trough and arrives in my awareness. And the frequences are far more balanced just by itself. But it sounds to me as if the U87 is dirty. I guess it's old and should be cleaned and repaired. Maybe thats the reason why it falls so short.
Love your videos man. I don’t know why you stopped making these. You should boost your videos to get more traffic. They are the best i have seen. Would you be able To make a video on how you process/mix guitars similar to what you did with the vocals?
Buahahaha, another "comparision" of top quality mics in the internet...but with not oryginal mics but with very nice representation of that famous mics". That is sooooo lame. Realy you don't feel embarrassed to make such a "comparision" ? And in the title and descripton of movie you say that you compare not "good representation of that mic" but you use original brands names...sooooo clickbait :)
Thank you for such constructive criticism. If you scroll through my channel you'll probably find the most extensive test library where I used actual Vintage originals that you'll find on any other channel. I've owned and used pretty much all of the famous vintage models so for this test I thought it was valid to use clones to demonstrate the differences between the models. Thanks 👍
The retro tube sounded surprisingly good for the price. That's a lot of tech for a very low price.... You do have to wonder about consistenty, at least a little bit at that price point, with such a complex microphone.... Great performance by the way! Thank 😎👍
Beautiful, haunting performance Christian. Bravo. From a tech POV, I see one large diaphragm mic hanging while you perform live, yet you say "vintage Neumann U67 on vocals with KM86 and U87 vintage on the guitar." Curious about description vs what I see.
Bonjour, n'ayant pas besoin d'eq, car j'utilise ceux de mon mixer, est ce que le golden age premier pre73 (pas dlx) aura la même qualité sonore? Merci pour vos vidéos !
You are such a good singer. I love to listen to your voice. As always an outstanding performance with a lot of feeling including your great Guitar accompaniment.
Great review man! Been using the 251 for over a year now, made the switch from an 800G & it's noticeably warmer. Nothing wrong with the 800 at all but I have to say I haven't looked back since.
If you add EQ - you're not hearing the character of the Mic - what's the point of the Test - to get each mic to sound the same by adding EQ or to hear how each mic is voiced with ZERO EQ and ZERO Compression - that's how you test - as soon as you add EQ , compression or ANYTHING else in the chain then the Test is pointless.
Thank you so much! Would you say a hardware compressor and this one make a “better” result than software. Does it adds something to the “glue” or could I just keep staying in the box. Again thanks for a very good demo!
Thank you! This was so helpful and encouraged me to pick up a KM86. Just like your video showed the top end of the mic is very different from the KM84 despite them using the same capsule.
