The play director giving Chang a hard time about his acting was one of the hardest i ever laughed and Ken Jeong's performance as Miyagi was so good, the scene where he talks about his wife's childbirth complications brought me close to tears. This is what makes Community so great
The Karate Kid is about Kesuke Miyagi, an immigrant who fought against his own people in World War II, while his wife lost a child in an internment camp. Noriyuki Morita was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance. Ralph Macchio? Showed up.
MFW he casted Chang because he was this sad hollow asian man that could perfectly project his sadness into his role and just casted Annie's clone bc the costume
All professional actors can act like their character. But to act like they are doing a bad job at acting is probably harder. I'd say she had the harder role in this episode (ironically).
Best writing moments: All of jason mantzoukas' insults for chang, Abed "I know this isn't what the story suggests but you have to wonder if it hadn't been better if Daniel got beat up more". That's such an amazing joke because it wouldn't work in any other scenario
I revisit this maybe once a month. It's just perfect on every level. I adore nearly every minute of Community, but if its entire purpose was to build to this storyline then I would not be disappointed. This and "maybe Chang's a ghost?" are exactly what this show should be doing.
Jason Mantzoukas is an incredible actor. From The League, The Good Place, How did this get made podcast, etc.... incredible! His intensity and rage are unparalleled.
@@t.estable3856 yeah lol i'm pretty sure i've never seen him play a character that wasn't a complete asshole. but, i mean, he _is_ super good at playing those parts
Ken Jeong's performance as Miyagi was so good. I feel like the scene where he talks about his wife's childbirth complications the other cast members in the audience were actually crying from the performance. It looked like real tears at 11:02
The expression that Chang gets at 5:01 is the same way I get whenever my boss asks me to come over for a chat.... I'm like, "ah crap! What the hell is it this time?"
When I first saw the dude playing the director I screamed PIMENTO, I’m so glad that he was in this, the rage was so believable and it made me laugh hysterically
Sadly I was with Britta on this because no offense Annie when he was mean it meant that was the person he favored more. Not the one he softtalks. This reminds me of the movie whiplash.
Abed Troy due become so cringe towards the end I was glad it was over...and they.kep.referencing.it jesus...season 1 and 2 when Troy was still normal chad with goofy moments and not this baby abed pose were way better
For the amount of times I've seen this opinion, I can't help but think that season 6 was great considering all of the things you said. Think about how any other show would handle something like that.
@@heatherperleberg7816 Ironic cause that same charity is never given to season 4 by fans. Season 4 was made under even more chaotic circumstances than season 6. And all things considered I think the 2 new showrunners did a solid job. But fans are sheep and just follow whatever their Lord Harmon says. One of my biggest problems with the show is actually the ending of season 3 where the show sort of jumped the shark. Chang was always unstable but not a mass murder. His plan to blow up the school was so ridiculous that it hurt the show a little for me.
Just realised they named the acting teacher after William H Macy’s character in Fargo lol Mr lundergard. Funnier so that this guy is so vicious while his name sake is ridiculously polite .
the director? Jason Mantzoukas has played substantial roles in The League, The Dictator, The House, has played memorable supporting parts in Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 9-9, The Good Place, and is a frequent guest on several hilarious podcasts (and co-hosts a great one called "How Did This Get Made").
Okay I must have missed something very important, who in the fuck are these other two new characters? I thought I had seen all the episodes and all seasons. Yet I have no idea who the dark haired chick and the black dude are supposed to be. Bizarre.
