Am I the only one that thinks this face/route has no equivalents in the Alps? If we take away the altitude, it still looks technically a lot harder than any of the routes on Grandes Jorasses, the Heckmair route on Eiger, Schmidt route on Matterhorn, or anything on Les Courtes/Droites etc
Just finished reading The Shining Mountain. This is amazing footage and great to hear the history, stories of the different climbs. Far out, those sleeping bag bivvies looked bloody horrifying!
Hey, I highly recommend Savage Arena by Joe Tasker to you! I just finished reading it and was blown away. It has a chapter on the Changabang ascent of Joe and Peter Boardman.
Chapeau! Well done on the ascent. The difficulty, commitment and courage is self-evident. You guys are nails hard. Wonderful film. Great story-telling, told through several dimensions and a rare humility.
