Don’t beat yourself up about the dating. I spent my early 20s worrying that I hadn’t met anyone and would never be good enough for someone. I met my husband when I was 25 in a pub. We’re now both 29 and have been married for almost two years. It will happen most likely when you least expect it! Lots of love x

society (men) conditions us into thinking we need a relationship (a man) to be truly happy. this is false, and bases womens happiness and worth on their association with a man. according to statistics single childless women are the happiest and healthiest demographic!

is this womens goal (a husband and baby) because they actually want it, or because society expects it of them? because statistics show single childless women are the happiest and healthiest demographic, so maybe instead of women feeling the need and validation of conforming, if we did what we really wanted, we would be happier and healthier! i never want to settle down or have kids, i plan on living my life to the fullest. societies expectations can kiss my a$$

You made the right decision by choosing the Actuarial path. Job security is important in life. With the Actuarial designation, you can apply to a variety of jobs and it makes it easier for you to move up the career ladder. Also, it is a highly respected profession. You are a very practical and sensible young woman.

Happy belated birthday, Paige! And well, I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your video, that I’ve been watching you since you started studying at Cambridge and that I’m so proud of everything you’ve achieved! You deserve it! And about your love life: don’t lose faith, it’ll come, you’re still so young! I actually met my now husband when I was 34 years old, and I’m quite happy now it went that way. The most important things: you’re happy, you’ve got a great job and you’re being super successful in your exams, and you’re thriving! So, congratulations on everything and keep on being the way you are cause you’re so great! A big hug from Spain❤️

Nice update :) Worrying less about life is great, I think many people realize how this influence their daily life, decisions afterwards. I am happy with my career path and so far every time I quit it helped me to learn new things, improve skills, met new people even the beginning wasn't easy. And about dating, like somebody says, it will come, finding the person you will spend the rest of the life with. Know people dating since theirs 15 and also 30s and without serious relationship, maybe harder these days, but I personally vote for IRL, not fan of apps, but if it works for somebody, noting's wrong.

With you speaking about having to take a break from studying I felt so understood. I just finished my Masters in October, I felt extremely exhausted (maybe also because I was starting my corporate career at the same time 😅) and I felt the need to just get out of work and do nothing related to the subject. But now, few months later I feel I gained the capacity to study again and I was considering another Masters 😂 After so many years in the education system (that was 18 years for me) it feels weird to just feel the need to go back there. And also with the dating life… I met my husband when we were 16, but I always imagined myself not to be too involved in dating till the end of my studies, and ended up married during Masters. Life is so unpredictable, so I wouldn't worry about the dating life too much, it will happen when there will be the right time 😁

I think uni in general is stressful on purpose. It is intended to put stress on you. Once you’re done however there of course can be job stress but coming right out of school they know that there is a bit of a gap between what you learned academically and applying it in the real world and that you probably don’t remember absolutely every little detail of everything you learned over 3 or 4 years. All that being said you should also go into something you love and if you don’t think that working in astrophysics would have made you happy then you shouldn’t go into that. You seem to be loving what you are doing now and so that is the key. Love what you do.

OMG Paige you killed me with those dating charts 😂😂😂😂😂😂 just follow your gut and don't give up! I've met my now husband when I was 26. It was my first (proper) date ever. After 2 months dating we moved in together. I've just felt he could be the one and you can know a person truly if you live with them so I didn't wan a waste time. We are a happy family now. Don't give up!

FWIW & IMHO - Although certainly popular, coffee and drinks may not be the best mode for first dates, as compared with lunch or dinner. Something about sharing a meal opens up the conversation, provides time for interaction, etc. Best wishes to you, truly.
@WooHooCelery
@WooHooCelery 6 месяцев назад
Meals do provide time for interaction, but if you don’t like the person then you’re stuck there until you’re done with the meal. At least with coffee or drinks you can move onto another activity, such as going to a museum or bowling, if you’re both feeling it or you can get away after a relatively short period of time if you’re not into it.
@4tarsus
@4tarsus 6 месяцев назад
@@WooHooCelery -- That's certainly a widely-held view and I respect your opinion. I would counter that if one is "serious" about any undertaking, one should be willing to spend the time and "do the work" to achieve the objective, even when some time is wasted/unpleasant. Me being curious & weird, I'd love to see if there's any statistical correlation between type of first date and long-term relationships. Cheers.

Enjoy your twenties:) Focus on yourself and your career:) I've met mu partner when I was 20, and although I'm grateful, I wish I had more time just for myself, for studying, choosing a place to live and work. Relationship can be very consuming and it's very easy to lost your own priorities.

@@maneskinnnnn7190 I can only speak for myself but I definitely haven’t followed this path because it’s what society expects. Some people feel fulfilled being single and that’s fantastic others feel fulfilled growing a family. Whatever works for each person. I can say I’ve never been happier or healthier until now but I have plenty of friends who are either single and no kids, married but don’t want kids and married and want/do have kids and we are all happy and fulfilled in our own ways

Chartered Actuary is equivalent to National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 7 (same as Masters postgraduate degree eg MPhil). Bachelors Degree is Level 6. DPhil/PhD is Level 8.

Interesting!
@electrocademyofficial893
@electrocademyofficial893 6 месяцев назад
I'm a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and also did Part III Mathematics at Cambridge which is meant to be the hardest masters degree in the world..... The difficulty of the mathematics/trickiness of the questions in the Cambridge masters degree was a bit harder than the actuarial exams, however, the volume of work overall of becoming an actuarial Fellow (many detailed exams over many years (remember, to get an exemption to even the first set of actuarial exams involves an entire bachelor's degree at ~1st class honours standard and then to get an exemption to a few more requires a full time masters course)) puts actuarial Fellowship waaaaay beyond just ordinary masters level. Also one of my Cambridge lecturers at the time Dr Heather Cordell admitted there's no way she could have become an actuary, so I don't know where people are getting the Chartered Actuary is equivalent to a masters degree from, that's nonsense... many of my Cambridge masters friends went on to do DPhil etc even though they scored less in their masters exams and they'd completed their doctorates well before many people in our cohort (who had higher masters scores than them) had become actuaries. That said while us Fellows in the UK are getting awarded Chartered Actuary status also, that's not to say that Chartered Actuary status might be being awarded for Associate of the Institute level actuaries (rather than Fellow) or for actuarial status overseas (which involves lots of work but less than UK actuarial fellowship).

Back in the day, the MA cost me 25 guineas. It makes you a member of the senate and means you get to go to the senate house, put on an MA gown (which they have stacks of ready to lend you) and vote for the next Chancellor. This last happened in 2011. Such fun.

For ancient universities such as Cambridge, Oxford and Trinity Dublin, it's a legacy award - a BA gets 'promoted' to MA, typically after 6 yrs which is like a honourary award. Current and past undergraduates and graduates remain members of the respective colleges within the universities for life. The 'MA' is used within the College/University to enable the 'pecking order' for college/university events.. voting etc. These are the only postnominal MAs. Typically denoted as MA (Cantab), MA(Oxon), MA(Trinity) .. Postgraduate Masters, which requires additional study, have postnominals like MSc, MLitt, MPhil etc
@TwinGeeks
@TwinGeeks 6 месяцев назад
What the hell. is that MA for nothing. Do people put it on their CV? If you have to pay for the ceremony then you know it's a money spinner for the uni.
