@Evangelica I have been asking this question for so long because J3A & JOA are doing nothing for Jamaica they are only interested in lining their pockets
I ran High school relays in Jamaica and we had a slick baton change because we practiced. So this can't even be called school boy error. Not good enough 😕
Im proud of the way y'all girls stepped up. I was cheering for the men. I wanted an American Jamaican final. Even as an American that mens 4x1 was hard to watch, but Jamaica has too much talent so y'all will be back, I know that
That's what happens when the country doesn't take care of their athletes, those who doesn't have a contract have to go to low paying attendance fee so they can eat and take caflre of their responsibilities.. this is not a just now problem. This has been going on since the early 90s.
@@anthon3373 So you mean these athletes train compete, train compete and the fat cats take all them money. No we need changes now. Young people stand up and steer your future. Need actual athletes as part of the decision making for athletes As a matter of fact i mean the actual athletes who have retired. They have been there and done that.......
Right now, Jamaica can just call it a night and a day, lick our wounds, clean the slate, and start anew. This is too much now. The failure to qualify a 4×4 team for the games was the writing on the wall for disaster all around. It is disappointing and frankly embarrassing.
Too much politics within our team. The coaches in their feelings and management a do what them want and not what best for the team. Management a give them friends a buss
And it can never be in our current paradigm. It simply does not pay the bills. We are no like Europe/China/Canada/Japan where guvvament pays the bills nor the US where they have luxury shoe contract even before winning anything.
You don't know what to expect from the ladies. If they get a bronze be grateful cause I don't even see them getting a medal in the final. It's another disappointment.
😂😂😂 it is sad but it is a fact. I do appreciate the athletes effort but when you know better can be given and this what is left on the tables, you will be disappointed!!!
Maurice Wilson strikes AGAIN! He needs to step down NOW! He is to blame for this selection. Kishane & Ackeem are the only ones worthy of being on the relay. Jamaica can never seem to get it right when it comes to relay.
@@buhrochem And I agree with Franno. Is like unno new to the sport. JAAA dont pay any bills. Have them mandate?? hahahah. You will see people leaving the sport in droves or go run for Bahrain. Lots of big talks from fans who dont seem to know the reality on the ground. Unno fussing about first world problems when we have a 3 world reality in the sport in Jamaica.
You don’t think the athletes are at fault as well ? A lot of them don’t want to show up for relay practices . That’s the issue we’re having as well . Look what the top 400 runners did ? We can’t always blame JAAA if they don’t have the top runners wanting to do relay practices . There is one video where Shelly basically said that she doesn’t run relay heats and when she caught herself she said well unless I am told to. But these are some of the issues when you have big stars saying no I don’t do heats . Look how the American big top runners are in heats . They leave their egos at the door and do what’s best for their country. And the anchor was awful they might as well brought yoan Blake and gave him a leg on the relays
Honestly.....l didn't see us medalling in either of the 4×100....with a lot of our big guns injure......this is time to assess where we are with the younger and inexperienced athletes...we will be fine...we had an off olympic ,jamaica will be back.
Jamaica break the Caribbean people heart. When Jamaica goes to the Olympics don’t you understand that you’re representing the entire 8 million people in the Caribbean. It’s not about you …Shelly Ann , it’s not about you…. Sherika, its not about you…. Relay men , it’s not about you, the Caribbean is looking up to you.
T again T, Heads need to ROLL, HEADS NEED TO GO Ok so we bin saying for months now from Bahamas 🇧🇸 4x400 relay when no Jamaican wants to go no Jamaican wants to practice The two guys were there two weeks before doing nothing so why they couldn’t get this right No JAAA NEEDS to be reshuffled HEADS NEED TO GO this should be mandatory Yow I bought a Jamaican shirt and couldn’t even wear it MI TIRED OF THE JAMAICA JAAA MI TIRED A DEM F*** yow
Well to be honest I’m excited and happy to see we have so much 9 seconds runners and they young too the sky is the limit good try my boys and same goes for the ladies one love ✊🏾👊🏾💪🏾👏🏾🇯🇲⭐️
Good to have 9 seconds guys but what you do with it is another thing. The selectors need to know where to place the talent. Not disappointed in the athletes but the administrators
Nugent is not going to run. I don’t think you have anybody to replace these Athletes. Kemba can do better she is the Veteran on the team. She just has to dig deep.
Relay practice is the most important thing, but I can not understand the line up as well. If the trials are used to determine who makes the team, why wasn't Bryan Levell put on that third leg. People say that he is not a good turn runner, but I disagree. In the 200m heats, he ran past Noah Lyles on the turn. If Bryan was on the third leg, maybe that sloppy third exchange could have been avoided.
These are young athletes on the biggest stage of their lives, unfortunate and disappointing as it is, let’s be forgiving they feel bad themselves. We don’t want to break their spirits and make matters worse. They will get better.
Tee. You said it correctly when you said "in your opinion" but in my opinion I would have been surprised if they made it. We don't have the overall foot speed on two legs and the lack of practice was known for several years now. Nothing to see here.
@@MANGO_TANGO-84 LET'S BE REAL IF YOU HAVE GOOD FOOT SPEED SOMETIMES IT CAN OVERCOME POOR EXCHANGES, IF THE TWO JS HAD GOOD FOOT SPEED THOMPSON COULD HAVE GOTTEN 3RD, SECOND AT BEST. THE SECOND LEG DID NOTHING TO MAKE UP ANY GROUND THEN HE HAD A POOR EXCHANGE, THE 3RD GUY WAS THE WORST AND THEN IT TOOK KISHANE A WHILE TO GET GOING BY THE TIME HE STARTED MAKING UP GROUND ON CANADA THE RACE WAS OVER.
@@samgayle9629 We had far better foot speed than the USA in the women's 4x100 the last 3 championships before this one. We lost all 3. Foot speed in relays is overrated. Italy won a 4x100 gold medal with only 1 good 100m runner. Footspeed is secondary in relays. That is why we are behind the game. We have an antiquated, outdated mentality as it pertains to sprint relays.
We are talking and talking about the same thing. There needs to be an intervention. Govt. cannot intervene as per rules which prohibit govt. intervention in sporting organisations. But what about the private sector? They are providing funding and they should demand specific changes in strategy and behaviour of JAAA officials, pending withdrawal of sponsorship
Me always thinking yours two best runners need start the race and they need to see who and who work better together so u of to pay attention to who and who have sync with each other sometimes u of to make a sacrifice and also my coach use to say let’s put the two fastest person at the front of the race to open some gap to take the pressure off the other two
We were beaten by China, France, and Canada. None of their runners, apart from Degrasse, would beat our sprinters. None. It's not foot speed. It's lack of practice and team chemistry.
For this year i understand that there will be prize money for athletes and teams that win and this was not motivation enough for the JAAA or whichever body is responsible for the team preparation. It is simple, you cannot train and expect to compete with persons who have been training. It’s not only having talent that counts but also having the necessary training that is required. For example, over the last decade or so Jamaican women have been dominating the sprints, 100m to be specific, even sweeping 100m races on multiple occasions, which means that you have the top three fastest runners in world. But Jamaica for obvious reasons Jamaica didn’t even come close to breaking 4x 100m world record, all because there appears to be lack of relay practices. Look at China, who didn’t have any athlete in 100m finals but was able to advance to finals over Jamaica who had two men in the finals. I hope things will change going forward. Change is needed from an administration standpoint.
Lots of preparation is the reason why the Jamaican really teams are doing poorly at the Paris games. The Olympics is the highest of high when dealing with track and field and you must be on your A game. it's the best against the best there's no room for errors. The head of the JAA organization need to be held for such atrocities. Bless up to all the athletes..
How is it a shocker Tee and you didn’t have your 2nd fastest man. Oblique Seville would have help you qualify. I think you are under estimating Seville Queen Tee….
Who?? Which??? The same JAAA that act like traitors to the athletes? The same J3A that hands out the most stringent punishments to our people if something SEEMS like it happened? The same J3A that don’t even know to appeal any case for any Jamaican athlete? You madd?!?
Base on how the Olympic as being going on not qualifying shouldn't be a surprise... don't be surprised if jaydon hibbert end up last in the triple jump
The big problem with the ladies 4 x 100m relay is Sashalee Forbes, she is far too slow on the curve. Why is it so difficult to get a 200 m person running the 3rd leg. Can we learn something from the USA with how they set up their relay team?
Jamaica doesn't seem to do well on their relays. They don't practice enough! All athletes should practice. The Americans and the Chinese come prepared.
It’s clear they are too selfish. Jamaica athletes have always been selfish. They are great as individuals but terrible teammates. The women 4x1 team should have had the WR since 2008 and the men WR could have been even greater.
Amazing how countries like the Netherlands do so well in relays. Something to said for practice. US and Jamaica don't care a whole lot about relays, it's the individual medals that matter. As a fan I must say I don't really care about relays.
As hard as it is to swallow!!! This was needed, perhaps they will finally wake up!!! What is obvious is that relay runners are different from athletes who just run 100 or 200m... the chemistry and Zeal has to be evident!! No matter how people may bash the US athletes, one thing cannot be taken away from them is the killer instinct with there relay team, they fight even when going down in defeat!!!
For the final-relay event, the women's 4 by 100-meter team should remain as it was in the semifinal race. The change from the outer lane in the seminal event to a mid-track lane in the final event will afford some advantage. Medaling in the final-relay event for the quartet of the Jamaican Danes is an absolute guarantee, mutatis mutandis!!
Jamaica seems to be the only country where relays are not important. Apparently the top athletes from USA have different contracts from Jamaica. Wah really a gwaan ?
Said it before and I will say it again, the JFF, JOA ane JAAA need to be done with...might as well the minister with portfolio do everything for sport's overall because with the talent that Jamaica has produced to date we shouldn't be having these issue's. Franno and Mills need to have a sit down with Minister Grange.
ALL I CAN FEEL IS THAT SOMTHING FISHY IS AT PLAY, THESE GUYS KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT IS NEEDED FOR SUCCESS BUT EACH YEAR IS THE SAME CRAPP FOR OUR RUNNERS NOT TO WIN .. . IT'S A SELL OUT PLAIN N SIMPLE. MONEY, MONEY MONEYYY.
They dont even have to go as far has having the camps, most of athletes train at home why not have a relay meet with all the senior athletes yearly, the Jaaa and JoA get some sponsorships alongside with sport apparels, get an incentive and let the athletes work together so they are familiar with the exchanges, etc? They could have TEAM A B C D running 4x100, 4x200, sprint medley and 4x400m... oh well, I guess I can dream on...
Rumour has it that he wasn't injured, he just pulled up because noah lyles over took him, and others were next to him in the middle of the race during the final. If oblique was really injured that's understandable. But if he's not and just pulled up, he knew he couldnt run in the relay heats because people would question it.. Meaning if he wasn't really injured then his absence based on a pull up made the team miss out on qualifying for the relay finals.
@@christinasmart1646 No, I promise you Oblique is faster. I was hoping that he would stop his foolish habit of decelerating towards the finish of every race, but no. His technique is better, he just needed to healthy and relaxed and finally execute a full race. That didn't happen. Showboating without a showboat killed our male sprinters in championships.
So now Change is needed? look how long we a warn and tell unnu bout this INCOMPETENCE, but all the vitriol was directed to the athletes. There is nothing shocking about this, if you don't practice you don't do well. We blast Elaine Thompson but have no smoke for our so called leaders. Its the fans who are the problem
Things just not going well for the track team from morning..Jamaica just needs to lift up n stop embarrassing themselves any further..both men n women is the worst this Olympics..thank God for the field team that take shame outta wi yiy!
