Change transmission fluid in the Mercedes Benz 560SL

You will need a 1/4 drive 5mm hex universal socket to get a good tight connection so that you won't strip the hex and have the clearance around the exhaust pipe. Hope this helps some one else out. Very good video.

What year was this W126 560SL sir? Did you use a gasket make with the AT gasket? What gasket brands do you recommend? Do you recommend adding LucusAuto Trans Lube to add with the fluid after the flush?

I have a 1973 450 sl what ATF should I use The manual say dexcron II but they dont make that any more what is the replacement?

What type of transmission fluid did you use, Valvoline dexron 3?

I am extremely impressed with your work and the way you display it. Question: I checked the transmission fluid level, the car sat for over 24 hours, outside temperature is 30 degree, the level was way above the hot mark? Drained 1 litre out. Drove the car for 15 miles, checked the level and was down below the the cold mark nearly touching the dipstick! Added half a litre, now just above the cold mark. Shouldn't be below the cold mark when engine is cold?BTW it's a 560sl.

Boyyyy, You lucked up on that one,, You cannot turn the 117 engine backwards or the timing chain will jump!
