Change Your Life by Dressing Better 

I have noticed a huge difference in how I am treated in shops/cafes when I dress well. I used to be quite chubby and would wear mostly baggy hoodies/jeans to hide my belly. Usually I would get the "please don't talk to me" kind of attitude, not rude as such, but just a stare straight ahead and avoid eye contact while scanning my stuff, just the bare minimum to be considered polite when telling me the price and asking if I want a bag. Now I am a lot slimmer and have changed up my style to incorporate more shirts, sports jackets and overcoats which fit me well and the difference is night and day. Instead of a mumbled "hello... that will be x pounds please" I am getting called "Sir" and always being dragged into small talk by cheerful cashiers. Many of whom are the same ones who used to be so nonchalant in the past.

all last week i watched a ton of your videos. Saturday I went shopping. Monday I got FIVE compliments on my outfit. I dont think ive gotten five total in my whole life, and I got five in one day lowkey feel like I just went on a glowup and thanks to this amazing mofo. the momentum aint stopping anytime soon

Trust me in career settings people treat you differently when you are humble but hold a sense of confidence in yourself. Dressing well adds to that. You don’t have to dress expensive but putting things together that are well thought out shows that you are intentional. I have tried to be intentional with how I dress ever since I started my career and it has 100% helped me get jobs and promotions I have wanted sooner than I would have gotten them if I put in the same amount of mediocre effort in dressing myself that others in the company does.

You can also change people's perception of you by the way you dress. I used to be the class clown in school and no one took me seriously. So I started dressing with more neutral colors and no logos. Many years later I have become much more stoic, yet still retain my sense of humor. Attire can be transformative and help you build or alter yourself into the version you want to be. At the same time, if you aren't comfortable in your clothes, it's going to do a huge disservice. Someone that's claustrophobic could wear fitted clothes and look great, but it will be apparent they aren't confident, alternatively that same person can wear slightly baggier clothes and their comfort and confidence will shine through and that outfit will be perceived as attractive.
