Hello lovely! Thank you so much for your passion on this topic. I started using Clue per your suggestion and it's been so incredibly rewarding to keep track of my cycle. This is the first time I've track my cycle and I went from a 60 day cycle slowly to an 34 day by making sure to eat well, sleep 8-9 hours, and manage stress!
I'm 35 and my cycle has consistently been a week early for the last 3 months. I've had my tubes tied but other than that I live a normal life and don't understand what's going on 🤷♀️
Omg, cycle changes during peri menopause are the worst! All I can say is, stock up on supplies ladies!! You never want to be down to one tampon or pad when your cycle hits! 😳 Thanks Crystal-you are awesome ♥️
I've always had a 25 day cycle - 21 days off and 4 days on.However, this year some months have been 22 day cycles - 18 days off 4 days on.The on days always the same but the off days are shortening.I have 2 kids so I'm not trying to get pregnant I'm just frustrated by the fact that i get my period 2ce a month now🤦♀️
Same is with me.. I'm in early twenties, my avg was 25days cycle but i started going to the gym about four months ago and then it has been fluctuating sometimes 18-19days sometimes 27days.. I'm worried whether it's normal or not
Hello dr. My periods cycle was 30 days but about a 1 year my cycle is 23 or sometime 24 days.. Whats reason for this shortening of cycle.... And how to treat it.
Hey! I have a question regarding length of periods, it's actually shorten form 5 to almost 2 to 3 days with lighten colorr with Normal cycle span,,, that is almost after 26, 27 days. But periods duration gets shorter, so is it a cause of concern???
Am I in perimenopause? I'm only 32 but my cycles are irregular now (they change every 3 months) and I missed my period last month. I'm not pregnant cause I havent had sex for a few months and before March I was getting periods. am I in perimenopause or is it just a hormonal imbalance? I have no other symptoms. thanks
@@_VaishnaviShukla I havent got my answer but I do know that if your period length changes its a sign of hormonal imbalance, (which usually happens around pregnancy or early 50s ) but due to unhealthy lifestyle its normal nowdayss so eat omega rich foods
Not from cycle to cycle, what about concrete length changes over time. I had periods every 22-24 days growing up. I just turned 29 and my cycles are every 30-33 days. Never “missed” any - not since I first got them when I was 11 years old.
That is normal because as we age, our cycles will normalize and lengthen. This is a good thing, especially since your cycle was so short before. A normal cycle is 25-35 days, so you are all good!
Listened to great interview with Danny Wilson coaching who weight trains women and understands their bodies better than they do. Really learning about this is the coolest thing! It blows my mind how much girls, let alone grown women don't understand the menstrual cycle even though once you learn, its one of the most useful tools in a female's life. The work you are doing here is so important, thank you🙏😊
@@aviauramusic4064 i went to my doc and she said its because i lost weight in such short time, also stress and what you eat. She told me to eat things with high iron to help my body to produce more uterus lining. Its a bit better now but still a low flow in comparison with the one i had 6-7 months ago.
@diorhobi oh okay, that is good that you went to your doctor and is working it out! I have lost a lot of weight due to stress and other health factors I’m dealing with. Currently 95 lbs. started a weight gain journey yesterday and removed all stressors as of this week lol.
@@aviauramusic4064 the i think thats the cause for your low flow too, you can take iron pills to help out. Wishing you the best for your journey!I lost so much weight too due to stress causes and i find so hard to gain weight. I hope you understand what I'm saying💀english isnt my first language
So on may I got my period from the 21-28 & then I started bleeding on June 3 for another 5 days & did not have any other bleeding the whole month , but if it was my period that I got on the 3rd then my cycle only lasted 13 days , so I already took 2 pregnancy test & they both came out negative should I be worried?
Im 25 my cycle has always been 27-29 days. But suddenly since last month it has become 20 days. Is it normal? Its true im in a lot of stress with some problems. Is the cycle early because of that?
Hello can you please answer my question I was happy period for 5 day and now for the past two months I haveing my period for 3 days what was the reason?
I know this is a little to late to leave a comment but I've got a question? So I'm 37 years old and I'm starting to worry about my periods changing!! I feel like maybe I'm entering pre menopause Because I'm on day 39th of my cycle and it's the 27th of April and my period still hasn't showed up . My periods are 28-35 and last 4 to 5 days.. I'm kind of worried can you please answer my question? Thank you🙂
Thanks crystal this has been bothering me for some time cos my cycle use to be 28 days after some time it changes to 26 days now 27 days, is there a way I can control it cos I've been trying to look for means to calculate my ovulation but could not ? What can I do first ,,?
I’m 33 and had very regular periods most of my life. My cycle was 28 days and now it’s like 2 days early or even 5 days early. I don’t know why. Is this normal?????? It’s been a few months now. Maybe the last 3-4 periods have been different
Hi dr. I was having regular periods always on time and the length of 7 days, out of no where my period length changed from 7 days to 2 days. I get really weird pulling pains. I dont know what it could be. What do you suggest
It depends on goals. If you want to get pregnant, you could start any time. You can also track your fertile window by tracking cervical fluid production and you can confirm when ovulation has happened (after it has happened) by tracking your rising basal body temp. You can learn more about this by learning about the sympto thermal fertility awareness method. Tracking these things can help you determine ovulation, follicular phase length and luteal phase length! It is really amazing.
Thank you Crystal! Do you recommend any books, websites or other resources to learn more about perimenopause? I am now on the supplement Cycle Smart and it has regulated my cycle but I would love to learn more about what to expect and ways to support my body at this time.
Christiane Northrup has a book on menopause called The Wisdom Of Menopause! I haven't read it but I've read her very popular book Womens Bodies, Womens Wisdom and love her work. I also recommend checking out the work of Alexandra Pope, the founder of red school. She does a lot of peri/menopause work: redschool.net/?s=menopause
my cycle is shorter and shorter every month.. I was on normal 28 day forever and it reduced to 26, then 25.. while I still menstruate for 5 entire days. I do not know what to attribute it to.. could it be related to weight training and calorie deficit?
Hi Crystal, I recently discovered your channel after trying to find some information on cycles that increase in length. Last year August I officially had my first period after suffering from HA for +-7 years. I learned a lot from Nicola Rinaldi and applied a sort of "all in" approach. I had very predictable regular cycles of 30-34 days for a year, until last month (all I changed was doing some rowing on a rowing machine for some cardio for heart health! 20min x2 per week) 😔 My previous cycle was 44 days long and I'm now on day 46 of this one. I'm pretty sure I ovulated and my nipples have been sore (last cycle and this one). I am so afraid of HA returning.. But want to trust my body. Any advice? I'm so stressed out about this,!
Actually, I should add that sleep has been a bit of a struggle with a puppy the last 2-3 months too. I WANT TO believe that these factors delayed ovulation and that I can work on improving my cycle, but it's hard not to worry with an HA history 😕
I had a baby 2 years ago and I used to always be regular with a 28 day cycle (like clockwork, no bc) and now I have erratic periods usually 36 days. But it’s all over the place. What might this mean? I had a c section.
Longer cycles mean ovulation is happening a bit later in your cycle. This isn't always a bad thing but ovulation is impacted by stress (like having a little one!), diet, sleep, those kinds of things! It is hard to say more without knowing more but I hope that helps gives you some insight!
@@CrystalKennings No not really, what I cold think of is somethin on my skin it‘s called granuloma annulare, my doctor said it will go away on it‘s own and this proces started in mei and I definetly had a time where I felt my body was busy detoxing, and he‘s maybe still doing that passively and uses the period to get rid of it.
So, you have inspired me to put more effort into balancing my hormones and regulating my cycle. I looked through your book list. Do you have one that you would recommend starting with? I already eat a whole food plant based diet and I have read most of the plant-based books already. Thanks 😊
Have you read The Happy Hormone Guide by Shannon Leparski? It is a plant based guide for hormone health! Period Repair Manual by Lara Briden is also another great book on Menstrual Health.
Hi Dr , my period length was always (7days + ) with a lot of cramps and pain and last month i had a 3 day period and painless, while this month my period is 2 days late. Is this normal? Please help Im 23 years old.
Yes this is mostly normal, although I would keep an eye on your cycle because you don't really want to have one that is less that 24 days. Cycle length is based on ovulation, but a short cycle may mean low progesterone. Keep an eye on it, eat well, focus on stress management and if things keep getting shorter, talk to your health care provider!
It sounds like ovulation is happening earlier/later in the cycle which could be due to a number of things like stress, etc! I wouldn't be concerned unless it continues to come later and later.
My shyt went from 28 to 25 to 37 . Last three days wasn’t even a real period I bleed heavy and normal every cycle . I’m on a 28 day. We was doing the baby dance around ovulation but every test came back negative and it passs 21 days of ovulation
I'm 14 years old and I got 4 periods and the third period was 2 days late from 21 and I take stress then I calm my self and my period came but now its 24 they not came ....may be it's because I change city ...1 week ago please reply
I am not sure exactly what you mean, do you mean your cycles are getting longer? If so, that is normal! You will experience some irregularity in your teen years as your body matures, so no worries about it :)
I stopped my birth control in January, have been using condoms since and there have been a few times when we weren’t sure if we used the condom properly (his semen didn’t stay at the tip of the condom).I’ve had my last period the 23rd. A normal cycle for me is like 30/31/32 days. So I’m now on day 39. Should I take a test or wait another week?
I always (90% of time) used to have late periods but regular... They used to come 6-7 days late from the date for 20yrs.. but now I'm 32, unmarried, I'm now having this thing 7days earlier than date for last 2years... 😢I don't understand why this suddenly changed the pattern!
I used to have 7 days periods. Now barely 5. I have tried many things but nothing is helping. Could stress be the reason? If yes how did I correct it? I want my 7 days periods back 😭
If your cycles are only 15 days long, I would suggest going to a health care provider to see if there's an underlying issue going on as healthy cycles should be at least 21+ days long.
@@CrystalKennings okay thank you. I didnt have any pain or discomfort and it felt and lasted as long as my normal periods do. Ive been stressed out alot lately and just turned 25, hopefully my body is just reacting to that.😅😟
Normal depends on flow amount (is it heavy, scanty, etc?) and other things like is this a new change or has it always been this way? Another thing thats important to remember is that our cycles can change from cycle to cycle and so you might have one or two cycles were its only two days but then jump back into a bleed thats a little longer. So it's hard to say what's normal for you.
@@CrystalKennings hey same,I'm 17 and I think im having a 25-27 day long cycle in the past 3 months, also I've lost weight (ofc I changed my diet and stuff for that) so do u think it might be the reason? I've lost 5 kgs in 3 months ,i had a very little amout of sugar, and ofc ate less junk food. What do u think? I think I need to see a doctor, what are ur opinions?
@@CrystalKennings thank you for replying There were scanty for only 2 days Then last week I had my periods but for 3 days they were also scanty, m worried Normally I menstruate for 4 days with normal bleeding
Its normal without a pill around 1 too 10 days, as hormons are affected by diet, environment, stress, sex, psyche, sport and so the length of the first, ovaluation and second cycle duration. The only thing that is unnormal and female myth is that regular cycles are normal. That is a hormone shaped, influenced anti baby pill myth and its a anxious giving and dependent holding myth to raise unsureness in healthy women, giving feedback to pay money to doctors away from own body intelligence. No cycle is the same, all hormones are affected by us and environment plus age. Every woman is individual in the body, for me days around 31 and 39 are normal range. Women should also eat meat or blood sausage for iron, zinc and B6, especially during their strawberry days
45 days menusral cycle is normal or not mam??? It's been 43 days ,though I still hope that I would get periods within 2 days🙄 But my mom, sister told .. that cycle would be btw 30 days....so I afraid much more🙄 I can't even concentrate in my studies!!!
@@CrystalKennings This month only it's happened!!! But every month my mensural cycle has been 28-30 days 🙄🙄 I don't know what to do, really frustrated mam!!! Is it a big issue mam!?
