I have gone out to another country from Thailand recently and back in after june 1st, these rules were proposed but have not been finalized and have not taken affect yet,when who knows things change rapidly ? This is why no one should make content about things until it is in stone ,remember your in S.E. Asia hince Thailand, Let me know if it has changed but I went in and out 10 days back.

Dealing with this now. As of June 21, still a 30 day visa exemption for USA and that is consistent with the Thai embassy website here in the states.

I've just experienced the most in depth scrutiny of my 12th O visa extension documents at CW. Two copies of everything including photos and map. A magnifying glass was also used to check authenticity.

@@FreedomFlies462 A friend just did his marriage visa and said immigration scrutinised everything incredibly thoroughly, and then sent officials to his house to check more documents. He was approved but couldn't believe the lengths they went to.

It sounds like 60 days with no extension. I'd rather get a tourist visa 60 days +30 extension.

@@davidhanak2767 nope the B1900 extension is more revenue, and it keeps the Immigration offices in work, with the many people who do extensions. They need that money, and there's no reason to stop 30 day paid extensions.

Allowing this 60 day exemption, if I were to take a border run after the first 60 days, (eg. Cambodia) would I get another 60 day exemption upon returning into Thailand? and after the 2nd 60 day exemption, I take another border run, would I get another 60 day exemption to total 180 days? Or will I require a multiple tourist visa?

Thank you. Will this new visa exemption rule for these 93 countries or at least for EU-citizens be now permanent (also for the years to come) or limited in time? Will it be possible to extend these 60 days for 30 more (like in the past) at a local Immigration office (with or without the 1900 bahts fee)? Reply please from Integrity Legal Thailand itself.

Regarding the 60 day VE...appears to be pencilled in for end of June...maybe July....As far as the + 30 days....is concerned need to wait for Governments decision...Patience...TIT....sanuk..

If you plan to stay in Chiang Mai for four months, can you still do a border-run and get 60 more days, or is it more compllicated after this?

That is certainly doable. All depends on your previous history, but a couple of border runs should not be a problem.

If you mean exemption, it will likely have the same 1 month extension as before by payment at immigration.

@@davidhanak2767 When they bought the special covid visa exemption in a few years ago which was for 60 days, you could still extend it by a month by paying at immigration. Probably they will keep the extension as there's then money involved, and it helps pay their wages and keep them in work at immigration, with all the people that go in to do extensions.

Yes you can, Kenny. Don`t listen to the nay-sayers. The lines at immigration offices will of course still be shorter, those who intended to stay 60 days won` t have to do the extension. But there is still an optional extension for another 30 days, to a total of 90 days, for those who want that.

@davidhanak2767 I try to spend 6 months a year there....6 months in oz...2 months at a time 3 times a year.. Have had no problems getting extension on exemption...its very easy....about 2000 bht. The 60 day exemption will just make it a little bit easier.

You will need a border run to get another 60 days, but an extension of 30 days at a local immigration office will still be available, for 1900 baht. All points to that, though not officially yet confirmed.

Exactly what it says. Some try to say Expats is a term White Immigrants call themselves but that is not true. Expats are defined as people who stay in Foreign Country on temporary status regardless of many times that is renewed or extended & why all of us here on Non-Immigrant visas are Expats & not Immigrants.
